I have a Verizon LG G3 someone gave me. The back light goes off after a second. I can factory reset it and it stays on for a significant amount of time and then it goes off again. I can somewhat get around using a flashlight on the screen. It might be a hardware issue but I am trying to reflash it. I am following the guides, with the phone off, I hold volume UP and then connect the USB. It just shows the battery charging 100% screen. I installed the LG drivers. I'm not sure what's wrong.

My AT&T LG G2 (plain D800) is rooted, and has Xposed installed on it (I'm not sure if this caused the issue or not), but here's what I'm having problems with:
I was playing a game, when all of a sudden the phone froze (no biggie, it's done it before, I've held the power button to force restart it, and it works), but the phone shut off on it's own, and would/will not turn back on.
Tge LG boot logo comes up intermittently when I hold power and volume up, but only sometimes. The phone has only twice now gotten to the AT&T logo, but freezes immediately and shuts down. I've tried literally every combination of holding buttons, for up to 70 seconds at a time, both on the charger, off the charger, and while plugging into the charger.
I cannot get to download mode, I cannot get to TWRP, and can obviously not boot into the phone. I had made no changes in weeks prior to this happening, so I can't see why or how something with my phone being rooted would cause the problem.
I've left the phone charged overnight before performing the actions (the phone won't even show battery percentage), so I don't think it's a dead battery issue. Everything I've read so far seems to say that the battery chip has died and needs to be replaced. Somehow I don't think it's the problem.
I'm fully willing to completely wipe the rom, and everything on it, as long as I can get the phone working again. However I cannot boot into download mode to use ADB or anything.
Is my phone completely bricked? Or is there a chance that the battery chip really is fried? Please help!
Update!
I left the phone charging some more, and decided to try volume up and power (while plugged in). The phone actually went into download mode for about 5 seconds before shutting off again. I tried doing the same steps, but nothing will come up again. It appears to be an issue with the battery on the device. Does anyone else think otherwise? Or will I have to send it in for a new battery? (The phone is less than a year old so I don't want to void the warranty anymore than rooting, which they wouldn't be able to tell since it won't turn on anyways).
Update Again:
I can get the phone to show the LG logo/download mode on a fairly consistent basis, sometimes showing a static screen (colored noise, not monotone), sometimes a blue screen, but it will shut off after 5-6 seconds every time.
Hey, I do not want to announce bad but by your description it seems that did you mother board, go to the lab to make sure, I had something similar and I replaced the motherboard and my phone came on time, check if the device is still under warranty has a good chance to replace you under warranty, good luck.
Well last week I rooted my T-Mobile LG G2 D801 with stump root. It was my first phone I rooted and I downloaded freedom, SuperSU, and Xprivacy (with the framework). last night, I turned off freecore on freedom (not sure why) and when my phone was rebooting it would come to the flashing T-mobile screen, play through a couple of times, go black, and then repeat. I can turn it off, but I need to hold the power button down while it shuts off, turns on, and then shuts off again. I have tried going into recovery mode and download mode, but only recovery mode works. I have been trying to access download mode by turning it off, holding the volume up button while plugging in the phone, but it only goes to the charging screen after displaying the LG logo despite me holding the volume up button. Though whilst attempting to get into download mode I believe I was holding down the power button while in the charging screen and I think I heard the T-mobile startup music start to play. I know I'm an idiot for not installing TWRP, though I didn't research the topic of rooting extensively enough before doing so.

I've done some searching, but couldn't find much....
last night I was using the play store at 50-something percent battery when it locked up and the screen timed out/went blank. I figured no big deal- it's done this a couple of times since the LP ota. I held down the power button to turn it off and I got nothing.
I tried a few more times and nothing. When I plug it in i don't get the charging screen and the led doesn't light up. I took the back cover off and reseated the battery but that didn't help.
I can't get to download mode, but can intermittently get to the factory reset screen. Sometimes when I hit the power button I get the lg screen, and sometimes it will make it to the AT&T screen and then go blank.
I was going to try the factory reset, but wanted to check here first for other ideas.
Stock d800 , lp , never rooted
You really do need DL mode to return to stock because the LG tool won't recognize a phone at the factory reset screen.

The above relates to not having DL or a recovery, so you can try it out (needs Linux for a step).

So my stock LG G2 just suddenly stopped working last night. The battery died, and I haven't been able to boot it up since, even after charging overnight. The only kind of response I get from it is if I hold the power button, there is a short vibrate every 2-3 seconds while I'm holding it. Sometimes after ~15-20 seconds it will stop vibrating, other times it will keep vibrating every few seconds until I give up on holding the button. Other than the vibration, there is absolutely no kind of response from the phone, no charging LED or anything like that. The same thing happens regardless of whether it is plugged in and charging or not. I've tried connecting it to my computer, but the device just isn't recognized whatsoever, so I can't use adb to try to boot to recovery or anything like that. I've rooted my G2 in the past, but I believe that I've had it replaced since then and the new device has always been completely stock.
I'm completely at a loss for what to do, it seems as though the device just bricked itself. I'm hesitant to try to get a replacement device through Verizon, as I'm only 4 months from an upgrade and will be getting a completely new phone then anyway. Does anyone have any idea what could possibly have gone wrong or how I could go about fixing it? If I have to wipe everything that's fine, as I was going to root it and install a custom ROM soon anyway.
Right now, my only idea is to get something to hold the power button down and let the phone vibrate until the battery dies, but that will take a while and isn't too likely to fix the problem. I'd greatly appreciate any advice from anyone who might know how to fix this.
Hello everyone im really hoping you guys can save me here.
Ok so The phone is a LG G2 D802 16gb
because the phone was dropped i had to get a new screen. i also got a new battery as well as when trying to remove it i broke the seal.
the phones been without a battery connected for 3 days. now with everything reconnected i cannot get it to power on when holding the power button
also plugging it in to charge appears to do nothing. (however i can feel a chip getting warm so it must be charging.)
When i try to power on i literally get nothing, no sound, vibration or screen.
so i tried the solution in https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/lg-g2-unbrickable-fix-real-hard-brick-t2904404
Now when i jumped the pins it did show signs of life. i can see the screen is lighting up, but is black. (which apparently it should be)
when i connect it to the computer its recognised and maps about 12 partitions. but they are unreadable by my windows 10 (i assume is normal)
I then used the tool in https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/tools-srk-tool-useful-toos-lg-root-twrp-t3079076
i used this to unbrick the phone, i can see in the tool it was copying data successfully into them partitions on my phone. but its made no difference at all to its original state.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
