[Q] Any info on rooting via kingo?

I know that there were some suspicions about sending personal information because of rooting phone via kingo app and theads were closed until all was clear . But I can't find if it was solved and if it is save now to use kingoapp. That's why I ask if anyone knows something more on this. Thanks !

Same here. What is the conclusion? Somebody should inform people.

People are using it. There is no correspondance from them to XDA regarding any changes afaik, so until then, I doubt that it'll be back til XDA have Okayed it.
There has been discussion on the verizon Note 3 forum and a reply from the Kingo guys.
After reading it I took the plunge and now have a rooted mj7 international note 3. Changed all my passwords etc as a precaution but so far so good. Just couldn't handle all the ad's anymore.

I rooted MJ5 with kingo. I did read rumors of kingo sending your IMEI to servers. Before I rooted I asked myself a couple of questions, what can people really do with my IMEI? Yeah sure, somebody can use it to activate a stolen phone. Why do I care? Can that blacklist my phone? As far as I know only the owner can blacklist a phone. Just like only the owner can get it off the blacklist.
So I didn't care and used it. It worked like a charm. I personally think all those malicious rumors were started by XDA developers, that were mad because they couldn't figure out how to do it themselves and the kingo developers wouldn't share how they did it.
I also read a thread were somebody posted the kingo terms and user agreement. The terms states, that no information will be sent anywhere. Now why would they violate their own terms and put themselves in a situation where they can get sued?

[Q] What happen after knox trigger

I have been searching for this answer for sometime.
Not sure where else I can look for, but I really want to know what happen (besides warranty issue) after knox trigger.
Is there anything that will happen to the phone beside the 0x0 and 0x1?
Can I still use VPN?
Can I still encrypt my sdcard and internal storage?
Basically, I need to know what is the difference between a triggered Note 3 and a non triggered Note 3.
Sorry if there is another post on this out there cause I really can't find it.
Thank you all in advance.

im not an expert but as far as i know you wont get ota updates or be able to use knox
i recently trigged knox and truth be told ... im having way too much fun with my note 3 n9005 and its getting way better ....
u can do more things if u installed a custom recovery and a kernel ... just read more threads about note 3 kernels and what they can do
note : flashing custom recovery or kernel will trip knox

I still own a S2 and I used to heavily mod it. I understand the feeling of rooting and not able to root.
I just want to know what is the difference between triggered and non triggered Note 3.
I am not sure why everyone is so worried about the warranty and how to fix the triggered flag.
I actually don't give a beep about the warranty and how to fix the flag.
As long as it doesn't affect the STOCK ANDROID functions (eg. VPN, sdcard encryption, internal storage encryption), I will be pretty fine with it.
The problem is, I am not able to find detailed explanation on what will happen to the phone after knox triggered.
Only affect is that you won't be able to use knox container anymore. Knox is a seperate enviroment to run your knox enabled apps. You still be able to get F/OTA updates and it DOES NOT void your device warranty.
NOTHING!! Despite Samdungs insistence that your warranty is void, your phone will be liberated!!
To me, this is a **** up by Samdung by alienating a large number of customers who, like myself, will NOT be buying another samsung after being a loyal customer for years!!
All manufacturers seem to be throwing some kind of spanner in the works for us who enjoy using our phones to their full potential.
Thank you guys so much for explaining.

[Q] I just need a simple answer to a rooting question.

Hey guys, I just bought two new phones to replace my Captivate (I hate parting with that phone) and my S2 T989. Now I'm the owner of a new Samsung Avant SM- G386T and an S5 G900T.
I want to root the S5 and I've read around to learn about getting it rooted and I've not been able to get any real clear answer of the best way and the easiest way. Does Towel work on the ANE6 or not? Can it be done through Mobile Odin? Will it or will it not effect the Knox counter?
So much for having only a simple question.
As also as always, thanks to anyone and everyone for your time.

Yes rooting will trip Knox
No, you can't root thru Mobil Odin, must be thru Computer

Okay, thanks. I appreciate the answer. I'm still reading all the posts I can on getting this S5 rooted. It drives me nuts not having access to files and to get rid of bloatware. I'll do a ROM a little later. I don't really care about tripping Knox, but I'd rather not. And as of a few weeks ago I don't have a PC to use. So I'll keep reading and see what I can do.
Thanks

Actually you can root the S5 without tripping Knox with the Towelroot method. I'm not sure if your model is supported, though, you will have to check that or just try if ist works.
That's what I thought, thanks. I'll check to see if my model is compatible.

There is no way to have ROOT without tripping Knox.
Once you trip Knox you cannot un-tripped it.
That's why you were unsuccessful in all your searches.
Good luck, have a great day!
Yep, unfortunately there's no way possible to do this. You either root and trip knox permanently, or not at all.
Was wondering if anyone has even tried rooting s7 edge on u.s. cellular?

you cant root without tripping knox on any marshmellow firmware
So as i get it, without root we can't install/use Titanium Backup???
there are specialist shops that have expensive boxes to erase this knox trip once you have tripped it. Im not sure if they work for S7 EDGe YET. They exist though and it IS POSSIBLE. Just as its possible to change your IMEI (repair) or other things the legality and available is per device and country, so check into it, spend a few weeks searching with at least 4 to 6 hours a day and you will find something and someone to contact who MAY be legitimate or a fraud, you wont know until you try.
Also if you fancy learning how to do chip erasures and programming you could buy a 2000-5000$ chip programmer and learn how to program chips yourself, you might need to desolder the original and replace it or could just be a simple flash.
Even if its something as protected as certain STmicro devices, you can still decapsulate the chip and probe the gates for the logic with a microscop. Bottom line is if MAN makes it, MAN can break it. Everything is possible, never give up.
Well, rooting without tripping knox is not possible at the moment.
Apart from philosophical suggestions about never giving up - I agree in general, but this time it'd be too much - root could be available in future if an engineering bootloader leaks out or if a kernel vulnerability is found.
The second chance is not something I would await very soon, since the update policy has been implemented on a monthly basis and every hole will be very likely closed ASAP.
Chances are that some employee at Samsung lets a signed engineering bootloader leak...It has already happened in the recent past. If so, root without tripping knox would be possible.
Sadly, it is not possible yet, and maybe it's better that way...
Is there any change to this folks? I keep reading various pages saying that it's possible but they don't seem very credible.

Looking for advice on rooting for the first time

Hi guys,
Looking to root my s7 edge SM-G935F Exynos octa 8890.
Never done a root before and reading articles made me think twice with how many variants there are and the apparent ease of getting it wrong.
Signed up to this forum to ask how to go about this as safely as possible, if anyone can point me the in the right direction.
Thanks
Do not root your phone, it will void your warranty and may damage and brick your s7e.
If you are making such a stupid threads really - don't do it. Otherwise, everything you need to know is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development

Xda members shouldn't be like this. Everybody has their first step to make. Make him aware of the dangers and provide a link with respect. You werent born with your knowledge neither is he.
No offence. Much respect.

my advice is to read read n read.
The Exynos version can be rooted with ease. Sm-g935F and other international models. It's been said that it is really hard, maybe impossible to hard brick the device by trying to root. Soft brick is another story, which can be fixed by downloading stock firmware and using Odin to install.
First learn what to do if something goes wrong.
Ask yourself why you want to root and if it's worth what you'll get out of rooting.
Then do as you have been and digest lots of how to do pages / tutorials and YouTube.
