Google Cloud Printing and Chrome - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my new Nexus 7 2013, and I can't get Cloud printing to work from Chrome. It just says error when I look at the queue. No details. It will print using the Brother app, but not Chrome. Also it will print from my desktop using cloud print.

Printing Text Messages

Hi does anyone know of a way to print text messages off a N1? for example receiving and sending text message conversations between one person? and that it will show the date and time as well if possible of the messages? thnx
There are apps that will allow you to save texts to your Google account, and you could probably print from there (never tried)...
any ideas?
Cloud print also allows printing SMS
Well, I'm using Google's Cloud printing service along with the "Cloud Print" app from the Market to do that. Works great!
thanks pamela do you need a wireless printer to do that?
I use an app called "PrinterShare 5.5.1 Premium. It allows printing directly to your wifi capable printer. The catch is that it must be in their supported printer list, otherwise you can use it in conjunction with PrinterShare console for your laptop/desktop. You can print directly from your Nexus it just routes the command through the PC using its printer drivers through the wifi network. You can print pictures, web pages, calendar, contacts, messages, call log, gmail, google docs, documents all from your Nexus/android phone. It works.
send it to your gmail and use this

Nope, a wired printer will do it just fine. You just need to configure/set your cloud print parameters via Google Chrome browser, install the "Cloud Print" app in your Nexus and you're ready to go.
Pretty straightforward, actually!

Printers

Any one confirm any usb printers or any luck with wireless ones?
Thanks

i personally havent seen any "PRINT" button or any settings to confirm any support for printers..
but!
you can download some apps, that will give you the option to send a file to printer, as i recall it.
Man that's lame just tried and your right no option or button to even print :-( lame. But I guess if you could send a doc or whatever to a printer that's fine but you have to have a networked printer which again sucks

I didn't know how much I missed printing from android since I couldn't do it. Yet Friday I updated my phone to the HTC EVO 3D from Sprint, and with android 2.3 on it I found Print options in email, the browser, the gallery, the contacts app, the calendar, and I'm sure it is there in a few more apps. Tapping on it the first time it went looking for wireless printers, and it found my Canon MP640. I selected it, and since then I've been able to send emails, email attachments, photos, contact sheets, calendar events, web pages, etc., to my printer over WiFi. They print out as if they had come from my PC. I can print one or all or any specific pages from a multi-page job. Franky I'm stunned at how well it works!
Now why can't we do this from Honeycomb?

That would work if I had a wireless printer. I'm going to try Google cloud and print share I think was the app...
Edit: just set up and can confirm working is Google cloud print. First have chromium installed on your computer and your printer setup and installed obviously follow Google cloud print setup then download cloud print beta from market sign in with your same Google account refresh so it finds your printer and print test page and in a few seconds your printer should be printing. You can use the share function and select cloud print to print almost anything.
Enjoy

[Cool Feature!!!!] Google Cloud print - Must check out!

I just happened to stumble on this while checking out stuff in Google Chrome - and wow, what a discovery! Let me explain -
1. On your chrome browser on your desktop, head to settings -> scroll down fully and click on Show advanced settings
2. Look for Google Cloud print and then set it up!
What you could do is, you could set up the Galaxy Note2 as a "Cloud printer". I guess you should have the Note2 syncing with the same google account and also have your chrome browser signed in to the google account.
Here's what you could do once you've setup the Cloud printer -
1. You could hit Control+P anywhere on any website - and select the Note2 as the printer!
2. This would auto trigger a pdf download on your android device of the webpage

Has anyone received their $25 Google play credit yet?

I performed all of the steps to register my us wifi 12.2, and went to the website listed on the little slip of paper included with the instruction manual, but I haven't recieved any of my promotional offers yet. Additionally, I sent an email through the samsung site asking for support and haven't heard anything yet. Yes, I did check my spam folder
Has anyone here been able to redeem their $25 google play credit yet? Any of the other freebies?

I have not received anything about my $25 CREDIT. All of the other offers already loaded on the tablet.

I got the email. I signed up by going to the preloaded Internet browser the homepage is the perks page. Through that page they send you to the samsung app store I don't remember anything after that.

Got my $25 credit instantly. BTW, thanks to the OP- you just saved me $25! I didn't even know about this, I was all set to just ignore most of the Samsung Apps on the tablet until I read this thread.
All I did was sign in to Samsung Apps, clicked the link to promotions- that sent the email with the $25 Play Store redemption code.
Pasted code in "redeem" in PlayStore and *poof* instant $25 credit.
Got mine as well, just not my Evernote Premium. Seems to have conflicting information about the free year but I suspect that as an existing free user I'm SOL.
Got mines instantly by email.
Yeah after further investigation, it appears that regardless of what you do on the website with regards to registering the device, you need to open and log into the Samsung apps application on the device to trigger the perks email.

I received mine before I finished setting up my device....almost instantly.
Registering ad receiving the Perks for my 2014 Note 10.1 was more of a process than my Note Pro 12. Once I opened Samsung Hub n the Pro 12, Instantly got an email with all the perks, which included a redemption code for $25 Play. The Note 10 gave me an extra $50 credit at Samsung Hub and Samsung Apps, which I think spending an additional $250 for the Pro 12 should have entitled me to the same. The key to perks is to make SUREto register for "Samsung Account", and check the email with such account. If you don't create the Samsung Account and login from Pro 12 you WILL NOT get the perks NOR the free premium Wacom Office Suite that automatically downloads as an update once registered. Hope this helps!
Can you explain? Which ap do you run to trigger the perks email ? If a browser which browser (I hope not chrome because I already reset chrome's bookmarks) ?

My theory would be for those who already owned a Samsung device and had a Samsung account, during setup you are prompted to create or sign in to your existing Samsung account. When I signed into my existing samsung account and Google account and when everything began syncing during first time setup I had a email in my email account associated with Samsung. As a matter of fact I do recall surfing the net while updates were being applied to pre installed apps via the built in samsung browser and it took me to Samsung's website as though it was already bookmarked in the app. I can't quote the actual verbiage on the page, but it eluded to a "thank you for registering your device". I really didn't pay attention to it, although I did receive my perks email shortly thereafter.
I believe this is where it auto registers your device with no effort on your part. Being that the browser is connected to your Samsung account.
Never the less, I know for a fact I didn't purposely register my device like the standard way of inputting serial numbers etc., thus adding a device to your Samsung account.
On a side note....is it normal that you can't stack the dropbox 50gb promo on top of an already existing 50gb promo? I had purchased a Samsung device last year, can't recall if it was the note 3 or 10.1-2014, and I received 50gb. However it didn't add the note pro 50gb promo when I setup my dropbox account on the note pro. Now when I created a new dropbox account and linked it to the note pro I received the 50gb. Now I have 2 separate dropbox accounts with 50gb.

Just open-up "Samsung Apps" from new device then Menu/Settings/Account and make sure it shows your email. Then you should be able to open your Gmail with the Gmail app and look in "Promotions" folder and there should be a "Thanks For Registering" from Samsung. They only register and send perks to Google Mail addresses (@Gmail).

Yep, that's it. I was stuck because I was doing it all only with the browser...

no, not yet
Ive never gotten any of the perks (Dropbox, Play credit) and ive bought a bunch of the devices offering that. ill try again, but never really cared to bother past trying once.
Gmail filtered my "gift" email into the 'Promotions' tab that gmail has (if you allow it to). In case anyone else lost theirs here.
My husband's email got sent to spam, so check there if you can't find it. Mine went to my inbox. Strange.

Got mine instantly via email. Cut and pasted the code into the Play Store and it now shows 25 credit.
Yup! Got mine!

Cloud Print problems -- no errors, nothing

I must not be searching correctly, because I figured this would be a common problem with a simple solution. As the title suggests, I can't print with Cloud Print. I know I have it set up correctly on my google account, because I can print from my iPad, etc.
If I try to print from the Chrome or Gmail app, I select "Print" and nothing happens -- no errors, nothing. I installed the Cloud Print app from the play store, Cloud Print appears as one of the print services, when I click on the cloud print service, I see my connected printers, but I'm unable to print from Chrome, Gmail, etc. I've been searching for a fix for 2 days, and can't figure it out.
I've also tried uninstalling/reinstalling Cloud Print, clearing the cache, installing Cloud Print Plus, turning the cloud print service off then back on and countless other things.
I'm running XtreStoLite 1.35a on a G900T.

Unfortunately no. Cloud Print works from my iPad though.
Hi,
I'm having quite the same problem on my Galaxy Tab Pro 3 and on my Galaxy S5.
With the same network and the same software, everything is working fine with a Google Nexus 10
The file to be print seems to be correctly prepared on the phone (or on the tablet) but is not sent to Google Drive or Google Cloud Print.
I've an error message but it's not very useful it just says (translated from French to English as I own French products) :
Printing error for "name of file to be printed"
I've extensively searched the net but nobody seems to use Google Cloud Print on Samsung Galaxy products ....
Sorry for my poor English.

Does Cloud Print work from your computer or another device? If not, it might have something to do with the printer or printer's connection to Cloud Print.
I can print from my iPad, computer and from the Drive app on my phone, so I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the ROM.
Yes, Cloud Print work perfectly well from my computers (various models) and from another Tablet (Google Nexus 10).
The problem is only encountered with my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 3 and with my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone.
On my Galaxy Tab Pro 3 the error message is sent from the printer spooler of the Tab.
Found solution for me. Another app printspooler was deactivated. All good now.
Great info, thanks.
How did you reactivate it? I checked Titanium Backup and I don't see that app. Is it something I have to install? I couldn't find it in the play store. Is in an Aroma addon?
SOLVED!
I added the Samsung Print Service (something like that) in Aroma. FYI, I was able to freeze HP Print Service Plugin in Titanium and everything still worked. Thanks cyphomatic for pointing me in the right direction.
