Hello,
when I connect my hd2 with the Froyo 2.1 from the 18.08. to my computer via USB, then my Win XP ask for an "Leo" hardware driver. Same problem on a second PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit.
How can I copy files from the computer to android?
regards,
Dirk

Thank you that works. The PC asks still for the "Leo" hardware driver, but there was another new hardware found, which has installed the Volume from the hd2. Now I can access the sd card from the PC.
What is the "Leo" hardware?

Dirk

Not quite sure what the "Leo"hardware is, might be ROM specific, especially if you are using a stock ROM
Try to download google sdk USB driver for Windows..
When Windows find new hd, check the ini file of these drivers.
Needs for adb, maybe?
Cya!

Thanks for that, but I have done the search here before I have created this thread. The search was not successfull.
I have also searched for your thread with the drivers, but I couldnT find it. It would be helpful if you could give me the link of your post.
Thanks in advance.

Hello Everyone,
Unfortunately, in Windows 7 (32bit) the phone shows up as 'UNKNOWN DEVICE' in device manager. I have HTC Sync installed, Android SDK with USB drivers, I even hacked the inf file to add the hardware id of the Desire HD with no luck. Does anyone know if the hardware id on the Telus Desire HD is different than USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0CA2&MI_01?? I also flashed back to the original rom in case something got screwed up but no luck. Any help would be appreciated as I'm desperate.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE:
Exchanged it at Telus and new one works fine on stock rom. As soon as I upgrade to CM7 I lose USB connectivity again.
I have removed HTC sync and only Android SDK with USB drivers, Device manager show "Android USB Device" and sub menu "My HTC"
hi.. i had a similar problem with my windows 7 pro (64 bit).. have you tried disabling "fast boot" and "usb debugging" enabled then restarting the phone?.. this is the only way i could get my windows to see the phone on the first install.. good luck and let us know how you get on.

I'm pretty sure I have tried that, but then again I have done so many things it's hard to confirm. I'll try that again to make sure and let everyone know.
Thanks.

I'll have to give this a shot as well.
Install the driver first.

Tried all suggestions listed repeatedly with no success. It doesn't even mount the sdcard in Windows or MAC OSX. My Dell Streak will at least mount the sdcard with no drivers installed.
Try with another computer, and select disk drive. It should not require any additional drivers, the phone is a plug & play device.

This is happening on my desktop and laptop.
Then there is something wrong with your phone. Are you using a custom ROM?

No, it's the original rom. The reason I want to connect it is that I 'want' to install a custom rom. Problem is the computer never recognizes the phone.
Anyone have any other suggestions, I'm desperate. Looking into getting it warrantied through Telus but but want to send it in if I don't have to. Don't want to wait who knows how long to get it back.

So,i have a galaxy s GT-i9000T and it seems there is no way of updating it! i can only put it on download mode trough ADB(dont know if that has to do with anything, just pointing it out since a lot of people cant use 3 button combo) and ive installed samsung drivers, kies, android sdk, java sdk and when i connect the phone to my pc in download mode it displays ''unrecognized device'' odin doesnt detect it and kies gets stuck at 0% while in download mode im supposing neither of my <<two different computers with 3 usb ports each>> seem to recognize it im on echlair 2.1 update 1 and i am very frustrated.
any help is apreciated!
PS:sorry for long post!1!!!
Check your drivers mate.
Sounds like a driver issue. Unless your phone's USB port or something is broken.
uninstalled kies and installed HTC and samsung driver for mobile phones and still no luck,i can transfer data/files from my phone to my computer so i dont think the usb is the problem :/

First try a normal installation of this package:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
(pick the one for your OS, 32bit or 64bit - I don't know which one you got )
If that fails too, go into device manager, find the "unrecognized device", right click on it and click "Update driver software.." or something like that.
Then choose that you have driver files for this device and point to the folder where you extracted the package and let it search for the proper file.
i already had it installed...no luck! FML ):

Well, I don't know..
Can't think of anything else without actually seeing what's going on..
Maybe I could try helping you using some remote administration software, like teamviewer, but that requires that you trust me so.. ehh.
I also read on another topic that this could also be some usb malfunction (hardware issue).
Plus you said you used 2 PC's and many USB ports so.. don't know.
odin recognizes my phone while on with usb debugging on...
so it has to be drivers issue.
but I can't really help without seeing.
try playing around with the manual way again, pick some other options etc.
i'm off to bed. good luck

Hello. I received the phone today. I had a rooted desire HD before this.
My windows 7 is newly installed so I had to install 32bit/64bit java SDK, and android SDK. I downloaded the usb drivers, the platform tool package and so on.
The problem is that, although the USB debugging is turned on on the G.Note, windows won't recognize it as a ADB Android Phone. Under 'devices' I can see:
- CDC Serial
- SAMSUNG_Android
Both with a "!" : needing drivers.
ADB is correctly installed, and if I type 'adb devices' in the prompt, no serial number of any device is displayed. If I try to start the root procedure (through the .bat file), WAITING FOR DEVICE : it just doesn't find the phone and nothing starts.
I tried searching manually for the driver: device - properties - SAMSUNG_Android - find driver manually - extra\google\usb-driver ...... but it doesn't install it !
I didn't have these problems with the desire HD....as long as the phone is not recognized as a Android Phone (without "!")....I can't start the root procedure !!
What am I doing wrong ??
Oh and also:
- tried changing USB port
- rebooted both systems
- uninstalled the 'SAMSUNG_android' device, then plugged it in again....same thing, not recognized as Android Phone
have you tried to install Kies?
i think i am stupid...that's the equivalent of htc sync right? i'll try again and hope that it will make the difference.
yeah, it should install the
right drivers. after that, be sure kies is closed properly in order to use odin.

I didn't even have to install drivers when I use my phone. It should be plug and play if you're just using it for mass storage.

http://www.wugfresh.com/nrt/ Link to his website and to the downloads.
Uploaded 2 pictures, basically click on the Driver Installation Guide
Then follow the steps. When picking a driver, pick the RAW drivers. I tried the first two and didnt work for me.. at least on my Windows 8 setup, (it did when I had 7).
This is also a toolkit if you want to root your phone which was what I was doing at the time lol :good:

Thats how it was on my Windows 7 setup but for some reason on my Windows 8 on my rig and laptop it detected as mass media but kept dcing when I was transferring large files and it wasnt the cord because after updating the drivers it works fine.
