[Q] Problem Android-HD2 to my PC - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello,
when I connect my hd2 with the Froyo 2.1 from the 18.08. to my computer via USB, then my Win XP ask for an "Leo" hardware driver. Same problem on a second PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit.
How can I copy files from the computer to android?

Dirk

Thank you that works. The PC asks still for the "Leo" hardware driver, but there was another new hardware found, which has installed the Volume from the hd2. Now I can access the sd card from the PC.
What is the "Leo" hardware?

Not quite sure what the "Leo"hardware is, might be ROM specific, especially if you are using a stock ROM

Try to download google sdk USB driver for Windows..
When Windows find new hd, check the ini file of these drivers.
Needs for adb, maybe?
Cya!

I have also searched for your thread with the drivers, but I couldnT find it. It would be helpful if you could give me the link of your post.
Thanks in advance.

Manually installing Samsung Galaxy S USB Driver for Windows x64

MS_Guru posted earlier to manually install these Samsung USB drivers since the installer is problematic.
Can someone reply with a step-by-step guide to installing them? Obviously, the first step is to plug in the phone via the USB cable to the Windows machine. From there, what is next?
Download them to your comp... Click the .exe
If that was difficult I am going to recommend using droid explorer to setup adb...
Google droid explorer and click the setup .exe
Then read the first post that says "read before posting"

True this should be in general, but he was asking how to install them manually... I used the installer and it is a gamble at best to connect my phone it would seem, so I wouldn't mind an answer either...
Like I said... Install manually by downloading and clicking the install .exe then download droid explorer to setup adb

Try these drivers they install easy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
junkdruggler hes asking how to install without using the .exe file, or possibly how to extract from the .exe without using the .exe
I would like the know the minimum files needed to install the driver as well, 20 gig for drivers is a bit overkill, looking for the quick and dirty

all i see is tether driver i want like the adb one
I think the tether drivers will work fine, because all you need is for the system to detect the phone.
Here you go: http://www.htc.com/us/support/t-mobile-mytouch-4g/downloads/
Nope I tried and still shows adb in my device manager
they're on the phone if you connect it to your computer you'll see them. It also has a qik pc app on it. A few nice surprises.
ill have to check the other sd card i put the one from my nexus one in right away as it has all my stuff on it already thanks

you can zip up those files on the SD card? When I purchased this they guy in the store swapped out the SIM and memory card from old to new phone (returned G2), so I don't have them. We didn't think about any factory files being pre-loaded on it.
The driver on the sd card is the same as the one on the HTC website. What exactly are you trying to do?
I had a problem looking for adb drivers myself, a while back. And it's true, the drivers are included on the root of the card in an executable file called 'HTC Driver'.

This no longer works it links you to another page and doesn't download anything :/ anyone have this exe?
please post questions in q&a section.
i had trouble getting the drivers to install when i had my g2 and i read to install pdanet on my computer and that would install them. i installed pdanet and it installed the drivers just fine and i was able to get adb to recognize my phone.
to late
I think you needed this, check this out

If you have difficulty connecting to comp with drivers already installed, uncheck the "USB debug mode" and you should have no problems.

[Q] PC does not recognize Android 2.3.4 HD2 via USB

Hi experts,
Thanx to the experts on this forum, I managed to flash HyperDroid 2.3.4 NAND ROM on my HD2. Its working fine.
But, when I connect my HD2 to my Vista laptop via USB, my laptop cannot find the required drivers to connect . I am not interested in syncing ... just able to transfer files between PC and sdcard on HD2.
I tried to search this forum for an answer ... but, could'nt fine one.
Also, any recommendations for a good anti-virus for my HD2 will be appreciated.
Thanx.
cheers,

Mhh, didnt remember if i required a driver to getbtge mass storage working...
Off topic: vista is after windows me the worst os ever
Google usb drivers are in this package...ignore adb, fastboot.exe..just picked up the package from the clk thread. Im on my way to work, so this was the best solution to help as fast as possible
http://www.multiupload.com/9R0KMRJ5X0
You have to manually install them over the device manager.
Hope this helps.

how long have you been using android? because the simple answer is in notification area if you already haven't tried, drag notification bar down and turn usb storage on
i might be wrong but i dont think i needed driver update and what not when i flashed HyperDroid. uh.. have you tried all the ports on your laptop? i found that sometimes this seems to fix problems like this. im taking by what you said this is your 1st Android ROM you tried? if not then was it working before and if so then you could always try another ROM as well to see if it would fix the problem.
Thanx j4n87 ... I downloaded the Android USB driver from the HTC developer site, and installed it on my Vista laptop via device manager. It works. I can transfer files between my Android HD2 and Vista laptop.
cheers,

[Q] Copy huge files [PC > USB]

Hello everyone!
I'm using Windows 7 [64 bits] and I wanted to know if someone has found a solution in order to copy huges files (2 gb video files for example) via USB to the Iconia Tab A500?
In fact Explorer.exe is always crashing during the copy (or in the beginning of it)
I don't have any Wifi at home at the moment, so I can't copy via Wifi thanks to File Expert for example.
If you have an idea, please share it, seams strange that it looks impossible to do it.
Thanks!
Copy the files to a flash drive and plug flash dive into tablet?
Thanks for your response.
Yes that's a solution, but there's no faster solution? Where's the problem with Explorer.exe crashing?
I have Win7 x64 and I have never had that problem. Sorry...
ummm, have you tried a different cable? Or come to that, a different USB port on your computer?
Use android commander. It works great

awesome, nice find thanks for the link micro
Does your tablet show up under device manager in the control panel? Or under admin panel -> storage? Might be a conflicting letter the drive is trying to grab with one thats already used. If u see tablet in storage in the admin panel -> control panel. Try changing the letter assigned to it.

Sounds like a driver issue. Try uninstalling all the USB drivers for the Acer, then download and reinstall the latest drivers.

When you say that it's not connecting, could you specify in which mode? E.g. USB Flasher in MAGLDR, USB Mass Storage in Android, USB Mass Storage in MAGLDR, bootloader etc.
it will not connect when im at my home screen. i have turned off usb debugging on the phone. im not sure wat mode its in when im just at the home screen sorry.
thanks josh
extract it in your dektop.
Connect your Android-powered device to your computer's USB port.
Right-click on Computer from your desktop or Windows Explorer, and select Manage.
Select Devices in the left pane.
Locate and expand Other device in the right pane.
Right-click the device name (such as HTC HD2) and select Update Driver Software. This will launch the Hardware Update Wizard.
Select Browse my computer for driver software and click Next.
Click Browse and locate the USB driver folder. (Google USB Driver, we have already extracted it )
Click Next to install the driver.

Well still check if it connects in USB Flasher mode in MAGLDR. If it does, then you should be all set to flash a newer version of Android. Just follow this guide. Before doing so, download the ROM directly on to your phone's SD from the browser and move the ROM to the root of the SD card. Also make sure to make a full backup of your ROM in CWM and of your data in Titanium Backup. On the guide you should probably skip the step which involves partitioning the SD card with an SD-EXT as this will delete the contents of your SD card.

...What? This makes no sense.
I also have this problem: after connecting android 4.1.2 to windows 7 x64 pc - nothing happends. I tried installing 4 different roms (all released in december 2012), but if I remember correctly my previous android (4.0.4) and the one before (2.something) had the same problem. I also tried 4 defrent pc.
I installed Google USB Drivers in Android SDK Manager but couldn't add them to unknown devise (it said that there are no drivers in the 'usb_drivers' folder. Also tried drivers mentioned in this thread but with the same result.
Tried turning off and on USB Debuging and plenty other options as suggested in posts I found. I also don't have any option to chose while connecting android via USB cable (only turning USB storage on and off - while on pc does see it, but only as an SD card).
Thank you for your answer,
Paul

Unfortunately, if I am correct, this thread solved problems during the installation. This went just fine. Pc detects phone before without loaded rom just fine. But thanks anyway.
