[Q] What version of CM12 use as daily ROM for G900F? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys, I want to ask You something.
What version of cyanogenmod is better for daily use? Albinoman's or the official nightly ones? I want to try it out but don't know witch is more stable and has less bugs. Stable is the key, because I want to use it as my daily ROM on my G900F.

The wildfire only goes to 2.2 officialy. CM7 latest build has 2.3.7 and its stable (not including nightlies)
Is that version in stable or night mod?and can can you explain what nightlies is?
Nightlies, from what I know, is a build that they release every night and some times is really buggy but you get the occasional one that is stable. I just stick with the stable releases not the nightlies. Um there is a stable release out.
Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1143125
Also the easy way to install it is to use rom manager and make sure you do nandroid backup before you install any roms

Sorry to contradict you but the nightlies in my opinion are just as stable as the stable version, you see a lot of the bugs you may read about in various threads are through user error not the actual rom itself. And been able to use new features long before they are released in a stable version far outweighs the amount of bugs.
I've been on nightlies for about 4 months and only ever had 1 bug, the camera wouldn't work a couple of days ago but Arco already knew why and it was fixed the next day!

Yeah I've only ever used the stable releases. Never quite tryed nightlies. mayby you can say what version of nightlies is stable and then I can have a look for myself. What are the changes so far included in the nightlies?

All the nightlies I've tried have been stable, I know they had problems in the early stages with bootloops etc but I've been on them since about nightly 100 and never had any major issues apart from my own stupidity.
There is a changelog knocking about somewhere. I'll see if I can find the link later.

Which Paranoid Android release is currently most stable?

I want to flash PA, but I want to stay away from unstable daily releases - even if it's not the most up-to-date (Missing halo e.t.c.) which release is currently the most stable? An RC or so?

AFAIK there aren't any nightlies of PA, just flash the latest download from the OP. That's the one I'm on and it has no issues. The Goo Manager app (built in to the ROM) will notify you when the next update is available, usually every few weeks.
I'm taking your advice. Thanks.
Just like Nigeldg said. I've been using the latest PA and have no issues whatsoever! I'm very pleased.

I don't know about the "most stable" rom.
But from my own experience, i have found that carbon rom ( in s4 unified development) is best one i have used for overall stability. Not had a single problem with it, so i would suggest using it

in addition, if you suggest using a rom can you plz shortly explain what should i do to install it from cloduyg2 3.3?

What is the current best aosp rom for n9005?

Last time I tried an aosp rom it had major battery drain issues so I went back to stock. Is there any current aosp rom that works well as a daily driver and with decent battery life?
I logged in to ask the same question. I am approaching the end of my two years warranty. I have a N9005, rooted, and I'd love to move on to the latest Android version, mainly for security reasons. Alas, I've never in my life installed a ROM on an Android smartphone, so apart from the original question, I would really like a "for dummy guide" as to how best to proceed without losing data.
I have tried many but always come back to a TW Rom. Look for AryaMod 8.1 as a great balance between features and the stability you need for a daily driver! There is a later version but not stable enough for me yet.
Use the OFFICIAL CM12.1 Rom, install xposed, and amplify and its amazing.
Is there an official CM 12.1 release now? I always thought there were only nightlies. I look here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=hltexx&type=
Should I look elsewhere?
This Amplify? http://amplifyandroid.com/
I use what you can see in my sig and love it ^^
