[Q] Watch phone (with SIM card) on MT2501/MT2502 processor? - Other SmartWatches

It seems that current Chinese market situation is that any smartwatches with SIM card are made on MT6260 CPU, while all smartwatches made on MT2501/MT2502 (aka MTK2501/MT2K502), with BLE support, lack a SIM card slot.
At the same time, MT2501 is nothing more than an updated version of MT6260 with BLE and few other minor changes. It does support SIM card (even 2, as usual). So, did anyone already see a smartwatch with both MT2501 and SIM card? If not, can someone post to this thread as soon as one is available?
It would be nice to have a watch with GSM access and modern, not power hungry Bluetooth LE.

256MB & Wifi Sandisk SD Compartibility

Has anyone tested SanDisk Secure Digital 256MB + Wi-Fi Card with XDA2?
Many people that already tested it say that the card is not compatible with the O2 XDAII/i-Mate GSM/GPRS Pocket PC/Dopod 696/Qtek 2020.
Can anyone please confirm if the card functions both as memory/wifi
with the O2-XDA2 or provide with a link with the appropriate drivers?
No it doesn't. Microsoft limitation.
The maker of the card also state that it does not work for the xda 2.
Sandisk Compartibility List
This is sandisk's compartibility list.It says that it is supported by xda2!
http://www.sandisk.com/consumer/download/sdwifi/sdwifi_compatability_list.htm
:?
are you sure it's not the comatiblity list for their wifi card without ram because that works just fine with xda2's
but not the one with sdram on it aswell
list
I got that link from that store that is selling the sandisk 256mb + wifi.
When i emailed the store asking them if it actually works on xda2 they replied:
The compatibility list featured on Pocket PC Central is not our list,
but
rather the list provided by SanDisk, the manufacturer of the SD 256MB +
Wi-Fi Card. According to that list, their SDIO Wi-Fi cards are
natively
compatible with the XDA2. If you have information that contradicts
this, my
first thought would be to go with the manufacturer of the accessory
over a
third-party reseller.
That being said, I would be happy to send a message to my contact at
SanDisk
and get a more definitive answer for you.
I'll let you know what I find out.

Wireless SD Cards and Chipsets...

Quiz question. I've been doing some research into SDIO wifi cards for WM2005 and my SPV M1000.
What i want to know is, What chipset do Socket SD WLAN cards use? Is it per-chance: "Inprocomm"
Reason i ask is, i've ordered a SAFECOM SD wifi card, which ive heard doesn't have drivers for WM2005, however, it use the above chipset.
Alternativley, does anyone have drivers for this model card, or a way to make it work?
Cheers,
Tim

SD question

Hello, I'm just curios does this device has 2 SDIO card readers?
Does it supports 2 SDHC cards? I would think to buy one if it supposely can read 2x32gb SDHC cards
Thank you
Yes, 8Gb precisely supports.
what do you mean? nothing more than 8gb?
32Gb
Sorry for misunderstanding - I mean that it supports at least 8Gb (currently I have this card installed); and 32Gb SDHC should be supported as well. I didn't try, but you can check that in manuals which are feely available thruout internet.

64GB of memory cards in Sedna
Hi -- Yes, I'm running my Sedna with 2 32GB Sd cards for a total of 64GB of flash memory (plus the 1GB NAND Flash). It _generally_ works great. But I've occasionally (just 3-4 times in my year of owning the phone) had problems with a card becoming corrupted: some directory and file names become scrambled and some files become inaccessible. Sometimes this can be fixed just by soft resetting the phone; sometimes, it seems to require reformatting the card. I've called HTC support on this; they say that the phone doesn't officially support cards of this size and won't offer any more help. It's possible that the problem is associated with my use of Softick's Card Export II software (for accessing the SD cards as hard drives via a connected computer). But I'm not sure. Regardless, the 32GB cards generally work great.
For me, the possibility of 64GB of memory is really the only reason to buy a Sedna! There are other phones with slicker interfaces, faster processors, better screens, and sexier form factors. But none of them will carry this much memory!

Use NFC to read RFID card

I am getting the Nexus S 4g in the next couple of days and have been very curious as to the NFC feature. Outside of the advertised features, I was wondering what else you could use it for?
One thing that jumped to mind was possibly using it to replace an RFID card, assuming they are compatible. Has any one tried to do anything like this before? I did some searching and couldn't find any information on this.
i think this is possible. for example an access card for a office. you would have to place your nexus on the access card writer that admin uses to write to its normal RFID cards.
you cannot however clone a card via a nexus NFC capability.
i am not sure if you can actually substitute your stored credit (i.e. public transportation cards) with a nexus. probably not.
I bought some RFID-tags on www.tagsfordroid.com. I use them for example to start bluetooth and navigation when entering the car or to start/stop wlan @home.
Recommend software is NFC task launcher.

Port Firmware from Nokia 105 to L8Star BM10??

Hello,
I wanted to ask you if any of the pros here know how hard it would be to put the firmware from the Nokia 105 on the L8star BM10 mini phone? They have both exactly the same SOC (Mediatek MT6261) so I think it yould be possible to get the firmware of the Nokia to run on the L8star?
I am new so I cannot post links here, so if you want to see Pictures from the phones, search for Nokia 105
and L8star BM10.
I think the biggest problem will be that the display of the BM10 is completely different than that from the Nokia 105 (BM10: 0,66" 48x64 OLED Monochrome) (Nokia 105: 1,8" Color, 120x160)
The other data of the phones are (except of the size) virtually the same, keypad, dual sim micro sd card slot. But the BM10 has no vibration Motor, the Nokia 105 does as far as I know.
So what does the pros here think, would it be possible to see a Nokia firmware on a 9$ Phone from China?
Or would be there a way to add some features to the original L8star BM10 Firmware? But I think this will be difficult because we dont have the source code. There would be things like support for NTFS file system on the Micro SD card, actually the firmware can only handle FAT32, but if you want to use the phone as a usb stick too (That works if you have a big micro SD card installed) you will have with FAT32 always the problem that you cannot store files larger than 4Gb.
Regards from Germany.
