I have an N-910F and managed to flash the auto-root for the N-915 - The touchscreen is now weirdly offset and doesn't properly respond to touch input - even in recovery. Have I fried the touchscreen like you can on older models, or do I just need to revert something software based. I checked with some touchscreen diagnostic software and it definitely does respond... just in the wrong place. Ideas=

re-flash a N910F kernel
Tried it! No change. It's weird because the screen has no offset in the corner and it gets worse and worse as you get further from the top left corner.... can it be a DPI issue or something?
I read somewhere if you flash other kernel you will burn the digitalizer lf the svreen, the only thibk you left if flash stock firmware via odin, if that doesnt work, send it to repair

hey, it happened to me last month on my tab s, but not flashing wrong things like you....just flash back the right recovery in odin should work normally, if you were unlucky to fix it you have to flash complete stock rom and root again

When did you flash to JH2?
Jark...
Have you "reflashed" to JH2 by using the regedit trick you can find here in the forum? I had flashed to JH2 the day after I bought my phone and I still had the 3button problem but when the firmware was re-released and I followed the regedit trick it fixed the issue.
You will need to update your Kies as well. Just search the forums for the instructions on these items and you should be "good to go"...
Hope it works out for you!!!

You definitely have to reflash JH2 using the registry trick described in the main topic. I had to do the same but the process is pretty straightforward and you shouldn't expect problems.

Hi guys,
today i flashed the emotion kernel on my cm12.1 n910f, cause i thougt it'd work.
After this step my phone did not boot anymore. I flashed cm12.1 again, boots as usual but my screen is wrong calibrated. I press on the screen and the note thinks i press about one inch down and a little right.
I really tried everything to solve this problem. I had to factory reset because i could not draw my lock pattern anymore.
After that I flashed the stock rom, updated stock rom, reinstalled twrp, wiped everything, flashed cm12.1 again, flashed another kernel, flashed stock rom again.
The s-pen doesnt work anymore, not even on stock rom.
Could anyone please help me?
Thanks a lot!!
First thing you're gonna want to do is ODIN flash your factory base, reboot and test your screen calibration and S-pen now. Report back.
If it works now, you can start over and flash TWRP, and put a rom on it..

Make sure you flashed the full ODIN package and not just firmware... If you flashed the full ODIN package and it's still doing the same, seems you would have a defective device..

Okay well I think I don't have a full package anymore. Is there a way to get it anywhere? Google says no?
okay, found the solution in the cm12 thread here.
"dial *#2663# and update the touch FW by pressing "TSP FW update (General)"
works for me. Thanks for your help!!

Thank you geoeffrey! You're a lifesaver!
Just shared something another user found out
Btw this code works on stock rom only.
Touch Screen being weird after wrong CR installed
Ok so i installed the wrong custom recovery file. Since then the touch screen has been off. It's hard to explain but it still works it just not where i press untill i get up in the top right left corner.
http :// i60.tinypic.com/ 2mdh0t1.png (Link to picture, remove spaces) sorry i am unable to post links)
As you can see from this screen shot, i am click on the PHONE icon at the top, and it's down below where i actually click.
Now when i use the pen it works perfectly fine, so it's not the touch screen (i believe it's self)
I have flash the stock recovery.img back, that didn't fix it, i flashed the stock boot.img that didn't fix it, then installed the whole stock rom and it didn't fix it. I am trying to fix it without doing a factory restore. So does anyone know how to fix the stuff up i have made? Any help would be amazing.
Try this:
dial *#2663# and update the touch FW by pressing TSP FW update

Hello,
I'm in the UK and last night I got an OTA update for my S4, turns out it was for Lollipop 5.0.1 from kitkat (cant recall exactly which). The update appeared to go fine but after I noticed that the back button and the other touch button didn't work or light up (straight after the update).
After panicking and stupidly trying things on the internet, I tried to install kitkat using Odin, following a different example someone else used (cant find it now) but that failed and now I have (foolishly) soft bricked the phone (I hope, anyway).
When I try turning it on, I get a message telling me to use kies to recover the software but neither Kies or Kies3 recognise it. Kies just constantly tried to load it and Kies3 tells me it isn't compatible. Neither list it for emergency restore.
Odin doesn't seem to work with any .tar files. Some fail early, some fail near the end.
I can send a picture of a screenshot of a failed odin for a 4.4 Kitkat flash.
Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
With the error you're apparently having, the .tar.md5 file should be in the BL/Bootloader slot in Odin. Then flash. Placing the file in BL should rewrite the bootloader and thus fix the corruption issue caused by your panic attack.
If the firmware is already located in BL, then check your cables and your other connections. Also, do not plug the phone in until AFTER you've entered download mode on it.
Here you have a Base ROM (HOH2) with 4files+PIT: https://mega.nz/#!cg0DWTIR!rQIPicJdKj16B4kqE5GT43HWvoUa32ny8ys5wAWJV3Q
Flash ur phone using each file on the right field of Odin (including the PIT) and with Re-Partition TICKED.

Update : I'm on my phone now. I've put lollipop on but I still have the original problem which caused me to panic in the first place. My back button and other touch button aren't working which only appeared after I originally installed lollipop any ideas?
Thank you.

I have just seen that, thank you. I shall follow closely, assuming Samsung don't release a fix. Until then I have downloaded a floating set of home, menu and back buttons.
Cheers.

U don't have to download an app. The phone has already an option for those buttons on screen. It is under Accesibility menu.

Hi all,
Right i used to flash custom roms on my phone all the time but haven't done it in a while i've kept it as stock....Last night i flashed a stock rom to my phone and lost the use of my menu and back soft keys? Now i haven't got a clue what to do i did read through a thread but that's just confued me even more...
I tried to flash a touch recovery on my phone but i don't think i can do that as i haven't rooted my phone yet? (is that correct)
Model Number: GT-i9505
And Ver:5.0.1
BB [email protected] I9505XXUHOJ2
Build Num: LRX22X.I9505XXUHOJ2
Any help is greatly appreciated
Recovery and root are different things. They can work independent of each other.
And rooting the phone is just as simple as flashing the recovery. Both processes are done via Odin.
You will be looking at TWRP recovery if you are to flash one. Odin install instructions can be found on their site.
As far as your keys go, I don't know what to suggest, other than flashing a different rom. Official roms shouldn't even cause such problems.
Thanks for the reply, I don't know what has happened but there is a thread full of it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help/problems-official-update-signal-soft-t3250132
It definitely appears to be an error on Samsung's part. Or something went bad during the installation.
So basically the keys have the wrong "drivers" installed, or they were corrupted somehow.
The solution would be to try and update them using the menu posted in your reference thread.
Or try flashing a newer version stock rom, hopefully also updating the key firmware and fixing your problem.

You can install firmware from other countries if your phone is not carrier locked.
Or check for OTAs, I know there have been other updates since then. For instance, my baseband is UHOJ4, which is newer than yours.
If you can't force update the key firmware then you have two other options:
1) Send it to Samsung, as it is their fault.
2) Root it and use on-screen navigation keys. The problem with this option is the risk of screen burns, due to the long-term static image (the navbar) display.
