Hey guys I am from Canada and I am just curious as to where it stands for the unlocking of the Sharp Aquos Crystal 306SH model?
Do you believe it will ever get unlocked? Or is it sitting stagnant at the moment?
My other question involves the Sharp Aquos Crystal X. I was reading it comes unlocked as opposed the standard edition, is this true?

Hopefully this will come to other markets other than Japan. http://www.talkandroid.com/229892-sharp-and-softbank-officially-announce-the-aquos-crystal-x/
I just want it
It will work with EU network ?
Thanks all
Denis
If this phone launches in the US on Sprint after February...may be able to use it on just about any provider. More than likely it will be priced much higher than $150.
Hey everyone.
I'm coming to Arizona to study for the semester, about 5 months. I currently have an unlocked Galaxy Nexus which is almost 3 yrs old now.. although it has served me well while travelling in the past, I think I need to upgrade to something more efficient. I'm really interested in Sharp Aquos Crystal from Boost and just wondering if it would be possible to unlock it and bring it over to a Canadian network once I've completed my studies. From what I've read so far, it seems like it may be difficult to do, but there's so much information out there it's a bit difficult for me to navigate through all of it and I'm looking for an answer that's specific for my situation.
If it's not possible, or if it would be a big hassle to do that, could anybody recommend for me a good phone around this price range, that I would be able to use on both the Boost and a Canadian network?

Unlocked N5 from swappa. Ton of support for a device ahead of it's time.
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Ive read thru other unlock threads, but all seem to only work outside of the U.S..
The phone was bought in the U.S..
Is there a method to unlock it for a different carrier inside the U.S.
How can I unlock the phone to any carrier
I read the post where someone asked about an unlocked Moto Z Force, and I met with the Moto rep at Verizon today who again said that it would be a Verizon exclusive, but I think we might have something with the thought that eventually, there will be a "Force Pure" (for lack of a real term of what it would be called) being sold directly through Moto, like the 2015 Pure was. I have AT&T and want to stay with them AND get a "Force Pure" model that will allow me to easily unlock the bootloader and use one of the many root options already available. I know the regular Z model will get an unlocked version for GSM carriers in September, but Verizon can't truly hold the Force model all to themselves forever..... right?
We also have people like this claiming to sell "unlocked GSM Moto Z Force" phones on eBay, when they probably just mean carrier unlocked, which isn't nearly as hard as bootloader unlocked.
And speaking of not knowing what we're talking about when we mean "unlocked," can we all learn the difference between the developer option to allow the bootloader to be unlocked and the NEXT step required to actually unlock it? With the Moto X Pure, you must start by selecting that option, go on Moto's website, give them your phone's info, and THEN the phone can be bootloader unlocked - the Verizon locked phones will never get that unless devs find the hack around it. If you are confused on any of what I said, then learn how it's done on the Moto X Pure here, which is a whole lot longer than just flipping the switch on the developer option.... Lots of people here seem to think that's how it works, so I'm addressing it here before someone incorrectly says that it is already available - which it isn't and won't be on Verizon....
Unlocked bootloader .....never gonna happen but sim unlocked for GSM? It already has

Please read my actual question again before even bringing up SIM unlocking.... what makes you so sure that the upcoming GSM-only model sold directly by Moto won't ever be able to be bootloader unlocked? Or are you just speculating based on the current Verizon offerings?
The Verizon moto z and z force is carrier unlock, free to use on any gsm. I'm using a z force on cricket. And there is no way to unlock bootloader for these phone.
Only the moto z gsm version coming in September can have bootloader unlock.
I have a VZW (Verizon for anyone searching on that, too) G6. It's unlocked. The bootloader might be unlocked about the time hell freezes over.
What I want is Nougat working as it does stock. I want root for TI and V4A (maybe needs SELinux tool to get to permissive), plus a couple of other toys. I want a phone that operates with VZW and also in Europe.
Is there a way to root this phone? (Searching on VZW produced one panic msg about a sprint phone locking every night and that's it?)
Unfortunately the only variant with root are US997 Unbranded (without any letter) and the European H870.
Sigh... The H870, I suspect, doesn't handle CDMA, right?
Nope. But the US997 should accordin to LG Official Website
The non-branded G6 does, indeed, allow unlocking the bootloader. NTL, since this whole exercise hinges on getting my wife a phone that can be unlocked (she doesn't care about it, I do), I've taken another route (with a "u"). I have an old G5 that, I thought, had a failing screen. To date, it's been fine. And it's better than the current taped together Droid. Yes, tape around the bottom to keep ther top from coming off(!). So much for the G6.
Bottom line: End of question. Thanks for the input. I appreciate the help.
Answer: In the US only the US997 unbranded version (buy direct from the factory) can have the bootloader unlocked. European, GSM-only phones can be unlocked but won't work in the US with CDMA carriers like Verizon.
