Just wondering if anyone knew of a way to flash back to factory on the Developer Edition. I'm an idiot and didn't backup when I first installed TWRP.
Thanks a ton!

Development forums are for DEVELOPMENT only. Please post in the Q&A forum next time.
Do a factory reset.
Should reset your phone to stock condition.
Sorry, I didn't specify. I'm also running a Custom ROM so that won't get me back to factory ROM
factory reset

Seems like if you have a custom rom, you used a custom recovery to flash it, and if you can still get into TWRP (or whatever recovery you used) you can go to the "wipe" mode and do a factory wipe/reset.

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to restore my tablet to absolute factory settings......i have ClockwordMod and thors ICS build installed. I need factory like factory unrooted rom and also all personnel files gone along with clockworkMod gone. I need this done so i can send it to acer. I dont want to find out what will happen if they see its rooted and junk.

Easiest way is to copy a stock rom on your ext SD card. You can get one in vaches thread ' full packages' in the dev forum.
Then boot to recovery. Do wipes. Go to recovery and restore and toggle data/media. Then go to mounts and storage and do full formats.
This will format everything in internal memory.
Then flash the stock rom.

+1 i would flash an old stock rom than get the ota update or just flash a stock rom....a bit off topic but what do you think acer would do if you sent in a rooted tablet?

Most cases nothing. Although technically they could charge you. Considering all the bricked tabs on the first ics update, I'm sure they don't bother looking.
thanks for all the help. I was able to flash to a stock rom!
I did these steps and must have made a mistake on the rom and now I am bootlooping. Any advice on how to restore back to factory would be appreciated

if you changed your bootloader to run ics you probably need to switch back stock HC bootloader:good:

You will need your UID
Download the following file
EUUs_SBK_Acer_A500_1.016.05_COM_GEN1.zip
You will have to search to find it.
Then follow the instructions from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1516012
Don't use the Timmydean version as it is rooted and doesn't have the stock recovery use the file you downloaded.
This will return you to stock.
Hey there, trying to flash my Vibrant, but I constantly run into the same problem. When I go into CWM and try to wipe data/factory reset, the phone is stuck at "Wiping data...". I looked this problem up, but most people are stuck in a loop so I could not find an answer for my problem as of yet. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks for reading.
Have you considered starting from scratch?
ODIN back to stock, flash a custom recovery, flash the ROM?
By the way, this thread should have been posted in the Q & A section.

Thanks for your response. What does it mean by ODIN? Does that mean it'll unroot my phone? And by stock, do you mean factory stock phone (as if it were brand new)?
And my bad, I'll post questions in the Q&A from now on, thanks for that tip.
ODIN is a program that we use to flash our phones back to stock, meaning factory stock.
But, you will be able to re-root your phone and install a custom recovery, there's some guides in the Q&A section that you might want to check out.
Here's a guide

Hey, I seem to have gotten myself into a pickle. Here's what happened: I wanted to do an update to Cyanogenmod 10.2, so I downloaded the ROM and gapps. I wiped dalvik, cache, and system and flashed the ROM. When I tried to flash the gapps Clockwork Mod said it was corrupt. No problem, turned the phone off, pulled micro usb card and put the gapps on that. The only problem is now I can't boot into recovery at all, with the Power+down option and ROM Manager crashes when I try to open it. So the problem is that I can't boot into recovery and I can't reinstall ROM Manager because I don't have gapps. Titanium Backup is also having problems and can't get root access. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is or how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
I'd Odin back to stock and start over.

How do I do that? Will I be able to since I had CyanogenMod 10.1 on before I tried to update?
Also, It would be better if I could just reflash a custom recovery, is there any way to do that?

See if you can find an odin flashable recovery. There's probably one in the development forum. Flash that.

It's worth a try. If it doesn't work you could go the Odin to stock method.

Please help me...
1. I wanted flash the new CM 10.2 on my LG G2 D802, I downloaded the mod, google apps and copied them to the internal memory of the phone, 2. then I booted into the recovery mod by the automated method(twrp), wiped the data and reset my device and when I tried to flash the rom and google apps, I couldn't find them.
3. I repeated step 1 and this time I didn't reset or wipe the data because I thought I might lose the files again. Then I queued up the rom and apps and flashed them and I rebooted the device.
5. But what I see is a round loading thing inside which CyanogenMod is written for about an hour now.
I am relatively new to these things, please help me.
What should I do now???
now when I try to turn the phone off, it starts automatically and I see the Cyanogenmod loading screen again.
Please Help

The thing I did two times is that I didn't wipe and factory reset in the recovery mod and then the CM rom would stay in loading. If I would wipe the phone, the CyanogenMod would also get deleted.
So how do I wipe and reset the phone and at the same time also keep the ROM file. I see many others installing and I wonder how they do it. I have been searching on the internet for the last two days for this, please help me:crying:
Put them to phone internal storage (sdcard) and then on recoveru wipe, advanced wipe, tick alk except internal storage and efs and recovery. Then ur good to go for clean install.

And make sure your recovery is new(ish). You need version 2.6.3.2, if you are using an old version of TWRP that could be giving you problems
There no option of advanced wipe option in CWM recovery

So now I have to copy CM 10.2 to the root of my device memory, then use flashify app to boot into twrp, and wipe every folder except efs, recovery and internal storage and flash CM. Did I get it correctly, if not, please correct me as I am about to flash CyanogenMod.
Thanks in advance
I love good people!
You should be running CM in no time. good luck. Remember to backup stock rom. Much more convenient if you want to go back.
Edit: I have my knowledge from reading this forum. I haven't done this myself yet. Planning on testing CM tomorrow.
Some folders which I don't want to wipe don't appear in advanced wipe

Edit. I'm tired. Of course just flash gapps. No need to wipe
Hi all,
My nexus4 is on PA 3.99-RC2, and I want to upgrade it to the latest 4.2 beta1
Do I need to FACTORY RESET?
and where do I find the RECOVERY to update?
Thanks
No, just flash it dirty.
By the way, do not open these threads here
There are forums for that

Yes you have to Factory reset once and then wipe cache/dalvik
flash bootloader,radio then rom,gapps
supersu v.193 reboot
done
you need twrp for it goto wipe option there you will find the Factory reset option.
Henceforth make threads in specific sections. This thread should be in QnA section. Ask any mod to move it.
Thanks.

When I installed it, I installed it dirty and it went fine for me. I forgot just tell him he needs to install bootloader and radio.
When I switched from PA3.99 to the 4.4.2 nexus 5 port I went like this:
- Backup everything you need
- factory reset the phone and reboot, it should be 4.2 stock afterwards
- let the phone update OTA to 4.4.2
- once everything is done you should have a stock nexus 4 with 4.4.2 and no root access.
- now you can download your favorite 4.4.2 ROM, kernel, supersu and mods and put it on the phones internal storage.
- install from recovery as usual, reboot, let it settle, reboot, done.
Worked flawlessly for me. Of course you can do all this manually (flashing latest boot loader, radio etc via fastboot), too. There are lots of threads here explaining all about fastboot, unlocking the bootloader etc if you have any troubles.
