[Q] Gwang-Jyu Subway App?

After installing appbrain and syncing with my epic, it shows an app called "Gwang-Jyu Subway." Now I know I never installed this app so I chose to uninstall it. On my phone it says I am trying to uninstall "system update" and it does not allow it. The entry for this app in the android market says that it had been removed. Google for the author "hyun min cho" and samsung resulted in me finding this http://www.linkedin.com/pub/hyunmin-cho/25/5aa/663. What is this app that appbrain is finding? This seems potentially shady. Did some samsung engineer try to shove his own app in the phone as "system update?"
Does anyone know what this is?
To clarify: The only way to see the name of this app as Gwang-Ju Subway is to log onto the appbrain website. The phone itself identifies it as "samsung updates." I wiped the phone with the stock EB13 build using the .exe tool and installed appbrain immediately after. This app shows up on the phone. After syncing with appbrain and logging onto the appbrain site. I can't find any good information as to what is going on here anywhere.
Can you remove it through adb or terminal emulator?

Phone seems to think its a system file. I don't know what exactly I need to be entering to remove it.
The entry for this app on appbrain is http://www.appbrain.com/app/gwang-ju-subway/com.samsung. Is the "com.samsung" making this a false identification?
I just installed ERA Go Green, and found this as well... but I don't have app brain. It shows up in "my apps" in the market, but is not installed. the only thing that may have caused it was using Market doctor in Titanium backup. If it tried to link the com.samsung apps, it would have found this program...
I've noticed this before too, but it was when I was using AppBrain. I chalked it up to a confusion with AppBrain, but I never looked into it too deeply. I remember the number of downloads being quite small, so I don't think it's some rogue Samsung app, as there would be many more instances of it if that were the case.
Freeze it...or uninstall it...problem solved. I think you need it for ota updates.

It is a bug. The Gwang-Jyu app is using the same name (com.samsung or something like that) as a Samsung System app. So when appbrain reads the apps installed on your phone, it pulls in the subway app.
I believe appbrain fixed it.

I agree with everything here except for the last line. The problem is with AppBrain, not your phone. The Gwang-Ju app was pulled off the market long ago, but they've kept this entry in their database, and so one of our internal processes is falsely identified as this app that barely ever existed. Ignore it. Don't go freezing random system apps.
Freezing system update doesn't have any ill effects. I've done it, and you just need to unfreeze it if you need anything updated, like PRL or something else. If you put a certain PRL on there for some specific reason, freezing this is what will enable you to keep that PRL so Sprint won't roll it back.

I dont have app brain and never had but this app is showing up in my andriod market it says it is unavailable if I click on it but it still shows up. I think it has to do with me restoring market links with Titanium backup. But I cant seem to find it in TB to freeze delete or detach the market link.

[Q] How to stop all downloads on Gingerbread?

Hi, I'm using android Gingerbread (SD) and was downloading some apps from the market when my phone ran out of battery. Now when I reboot there is a constant notification in the notification bar which says that my download is in progress, but the progress bar doesn't move, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Even tried rebooting, but it doesn't change
Go to Market and uninstall those apps and then install it again. If the apps already installed but the Market is still saying it's in downloading progress, then download Easy Uninstaller to uninstall it and then install the apps from the Market.
I went to the market and it shows the apps on 'My Apps' as Free (as opposed to installed, like the rest of the apps). Oddly though, I only tried to download 3 apps, but in the notification bar it shows the apps I was trying to download 'and 8 more' ?!
Anything that you downloaded from the Market will listed under My apps. Sometime the ROM that you installed have preloaded apps and the Market regconized that under My apps as well. Follow the steps on the above post if the Market got confused on the downloading/stuck/updating apps.
Try going into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications/Market and clear data and cache. Then it should stop constantly always downliading those apps.

I don't quite understand what you mean, but I've left wifi on for a while and it now has reduced the number from 8 to 6 apps to download. I have not got any notifications that they were installed but hopefully it will just clear all the downloads. Only problem is that if the screen turns off it stops downloading, so I have to leave the screen on.
Its in your phones settings under applications. That happens sometimes when ur phone dies with apps being downloaded. Just click on the things i said in the order i listed them and the downliading aops should go away instantly

Market sync problem

I have amazon appstore installed with a bunch of free app of the day installed. I was messing with titanium the other day and market doctor to see what it did and all the apps from sideload and amazon are all in the my apps section now. Is there a way to remove the nonpurchased apps? Really paranoid about it, I can't update it and it's synced to the cloud. Also does anyone know how much it might be to fix broke accelerometer and trackball? (pretty much the bottom)

try clearing market data? why would you want to remove them?

[Q] nfc service stop after play store install

If I install any application from the play store the annoying pop ups begin. If I install from amazon no issues. If I uninstall the app the pop up stops immediately. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would like to install things from the play store again. Here is a wrinkle to add if I download and install more than one app at a time sometimes the pop up doesn't happen but if it does only one of the apps has to be uninstalled to eliminate the pop up. So I can download a small app I don't want and then install one I do and then uninstall the unneeded app and all is OK.

popup ad covers the whole screen

i have the zte z983 on 7.1.1. Recently, i have one the app display an ad on the whole screen, it comes up randomly. I am unable to find out which app is doing that, i have try to uninstall apps, but the app still showing up, i am still uninstalling apps. when the ad popup, it does not indicate which app its from.
anyways to trace this and remove the offending app?
phone is not rooted
** it pop up when i was using my camera, twice. other time when the phone was on, and on the table.
thanks.
Are u used some third-party apps for rooting ur phone?!Some of them comes with intrusive ad's
