Hey guys all of a sudden the app marker is not showing a lot of apps. I search for apps I know that are there like Rom manager but the search comes up empty.
Any help? I think this happened around the time the new market was released and my phone updated to it.

Ya i hear you, i can't for the life of me figure out what it is, but ever since my brother and i bought the vibrant at the same time he had google earth in the market an i don't... Anyways, my workaround has been if i can't find an app i need i ask for help here. But a more self sustaning method is to search android apps on a torrent website like pirate bay . org or bt junkie. If you have anything specific in mind i could probably help ya
get appbrain, then search for apps there, and it'll redirect you to the market, which it SHOULD be in there.
I managed to fix it. I installed the new market app and force stopped it in the manage applications settings and cleared the cached data amd rebooted.

no if i search for youtube it doenst find it
Me too!the youtube had disappeared.
mee too
solution is find it with titanium backup, uninstall it, and now you can download it from market
dissapear too google earth, google books, voice and some more and this don't apears on market before uninstalling it, but appears in titanium backup
I tried it for.other apps. Like books and voice recorder but it only worked with youtube?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I only tried with youtube, these other apps I dont will use and dont try with these. and I uninstalled it, these apps appears like youtube app in titanium backup
edit: I tried install google voice and google earth and no problem for me
I had a same problem on my Nexus S, what I did was, I navigated to /system/app/ folder on my phone with ES File Explorer, found the YouTube.apk and reinstalled it from there!
PS. Android Market and my phone showed the application as installed, and all options were greyed out (Open, Install, Uninstall)!
I fixed it with ep file explorer. Fix the youtube app
But still have problems with voice recorder thinkfree office and others that wont install and show up in my menu.

Try downloading an uninstaller app from the market.
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
What is that? Can you give me a name of one?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
I cannot uninstall it with a free app. Google vpice or thinkfree are not even visible.
I can only see these apk files with ep file.explorer

My odd solution:
-Download GApps from Rom Manager...or wherever
-Flash GApps via recovery
-Reboot (Still no YouTube...)
-Go to Market
-Re-install Youtube from Market
When my YouTube "disappeared", it "appeared" in the Market as installed but the Open and Unistall buttons were greyed out. The icon in the drawer and the widget option were both gone.
I don't have that Think Free Office icon either in the apps drawer, but the TFO is installed in my phone. I was little bit confused about that thing, but now I see it's a common issue...?
I find it in xoom forum, thought it might help
If you have had a problem with the missing YouTube and/or Google Books applications, we have a workaround you can try.
Connect to WiFi network. (So far it looks like only WiFi Xooms have had this issue. Let me know if you have this on a Verizon Xoom.)
Go into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications
Go to the "All" tab and then scroll down and select "Google Partner Setup."
Clear Data.
Reboot your Xoom. (That is, turn it off and on.)
If this doesn't work, perform a factory reset (Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset) and try the sequence above again.
Please let me know how if this works for you.

How? Was it the suggestion to clear data from the Google Partner Setup or something else?
Just wondering since Google is updating the android market to a newer version that's all encompassing (music, apps, books, movies) called Google Play, if our rooted KF's are going to see the update OTA or if we'll need to sideload it? If sideloading will be the option, will it be the same as sideloading the current market .apk or will we need to employ new steps? Thx
Here is link to apk from rootzwiki: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/20095-android-market-apk-google-play-3612/
Update: Got both my KF & Infuse 4G updated!

I dunno, but my market shows all the play stuff when I'm in it.

My Kindle Fire (rooted CM9) got the OTA update and it removed my market app and added the play app in its place, i didnt even realize it till a couple of minutes ago lol
I got the "upgrade" the last time i opened the Market. Hadn't heard anything about it prior, so I was kinda freaked out. I didn't know what to do for a second.
Thanks for this, as I got totally screwed by Google on the update. I clicked "what's this?", my web browser opened up, and afterwards my Market icon was gone, as well as the upgrade process. To re-install Market requires a hard reset! Freaking Google. I hate not being in control of my own damn phone.
Works great on the Inspire 4G, thanks
Go into the settings of your phone, then apps (all), then go to the market app.
Do a 'Clear Data' on the Market app.
Next time you start up your Market app you should have to agree to terms, and then the app will update to Google Play.

Nope, wasn't in the list! Totally gone. Good thing the .apk was there above, disguised as a .zip file. Installed fine.
So I was able to install the google play apk on my unrooted kindle fire and I can now browse the market, but the only thing is that it forces close when I try to download app updates or any new apps. Any ideas?
Installed Google Play on my Rooted Kindle fire, running Stock ROM, it had removed the 'MARKET' and added 'Play Store', i guess its the same thing? i dont know the difference? can anyone explain please?
Thanks
They basically just renamed the app from Market to Google Play. Does the same things as before. This is not the first time it has been updated.
On my Rezound phone, I renamed it back to Market and changed the Icon back to the old icon.
**Edit** Just did it to the KF now too. Screen cap of it below:

I'm stuck in this very same loop. I can do everything but download an app or let it try to update an app I have installed. So far, I'm stumped.

Try clearing the cache and data for the app and see if that will help. That's worked for me in the past. Hope this helps.

Anybody else having this issue?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using XDA App
Did have.the same issue but only lasted a little while until rebooted.
Just wondering, have you tried logging out of your account and re entering it?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Yes, i did login and logout from my account. I did solve my problem already though. apparently, when I played with the market tools in titanium I inadvertently linked several apps to google play that were not supposed to be linked in the first place. I had to go through them and unlink them via titanium and it fixed the problem. I downloaded MARKET FIXER to determine which apps needed to be unlinked.
Hope this thread would be of help to anybody who would experience the same problem.
I do wonder if they're tweaking some settings with the new play market... I did a hard reset (because I froze stock dialer.... Big mistake ;-) ) and since, on usual dpi settings that have always worked before, 200, 240, I'm getting the error my device is not supported... Googled it and there are a lot of new posts about this since the update. Dunno if it's related.
I do have titanium but have never touched the market settings...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
This is an old issue and it is caused by the Gallery and a few other system settings being mistakenly linked to the Google Play market which leads to the removal of the apps in My Apps section.
Indeed the best solution is Market Fixer as the OP has discovered above and the link is below:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kstudio.marketfixer
You usually only need to remove the system app market links to get it to work. This procedure needs to take place after every firmware update too. Before the apps return after using the Market Fixer, you can download a free app and install it from the Market to refresh your apps.
Yes that works perfectly, but you have to know that now your google account is corrupted for life with those system apps liked to it. Now everytime you flash or update a rom, you will have to go through this to get back a functioning market... sucks big time. F***ing titanium backup, and me for being stupid and use it to screw with the market... oh well, I have good health so that is what is important, it's just a phone...
So, over the year(s), I have installed, tried, uninstalled, hundreds of android apps on multiple devices.
So I got my new Nexus 7 and wanted to browse through my list of apps in Google Play. Problem is that there are too many listed there. If you scroll through (I guess it's most recent first) it takes dozens of scrolls to get to the end.
And if I find a few things I want down near the end of the list, once you install one, the list goes back to the begginning!
I'd like to be able to remove from the Play Store listing, those 100 or so apps that I know I will never be reinstalling.
Also, the web version of the play store, only shows the first 180 or so, I can't even get to those labled P through Z!
Search yielded little so I turn to you for help.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
I'd like to know exactly the same thing. So far not found anything.

Permanently removing uninstalled apps
At this time, there is no way to permanently delete or remove apps from the Google Play website (My Orders/My Android Apps) or from the Google Play Store app (My Apps) that you’ve previously downloaded but have since uninstalled.
Too lazy to type lol...that was too easy but u sure knocked it out the park
Browse the play store in landscape so you don't have the list reset every time.
I wish they would at least let you filter your old apps... I'm much more interested in seeing the apps that I actually paid for lol.

Anyone wanting to see paid apps only, you need to install this modified play store APK from Modaco.

Just in case anyone is interested...
I've been a Springpad user for a while, and use the 'spring it' feature from the Play store app to create lists - purchased apps, essential apps, etc. It's really helped with organisation. I just click the saved link from Springpad, and I'm sent straight to the relevant Play store entry.
Yeah, so it's a bit of a dirty fix, but it suits me until Google get the Play store niggles sorted. Guessing it will work with other task/organisation apps, but haven't tried...
