I'm listening to shoutcast a lot by using HSDPA (though not actually using HSDPA speeds) with Pocket player but I'm having power problems. The battery usually only lasts the trip to work (1hour) and then maybe 2 hours more. I'm very mobile in my work (furnishing carpenter) and I want my phone on me while I work. That's why I can't let it be connected to the power outlet while at work. I currently have the Seidio 1600mAh battery and the PDAir hardcase.
That's why I've been looking at the Mugen 3000mAh battery and rubberized case which let's you slide the phone without removing, from a store on eBay.
Case: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-BLACK-HARD-...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Battery: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-EXTENDED-BA...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Will this work?
Thanks.
The 3000mAh battery requires an extended battery cover, which makes the phone thicker. So that case will not work with the rubberized battery; at least the back of it won't. The front probably would still fit.
Yes I was expecting that but I thought that at lower part of the case would cover half of the lower part of the phone. In that case at least most of the phone is covered. But is there no case that will perfectly fit together with the 3000mAh battery with a belt clip preferably a hard or rubberized case?
edit: What are my options really for a better battery life? Portable charger?
i've got the seidio and unfortunately it seems these type of cases 'snap on' to the phone through tabs. so they must be deep enough or it just won't stay on.
i also have a capdase leather case, which has some sort of shallow tray that fits tightly around the bottom of the stock phone (no plastic). i had hoped to use this with the mugen, but the mugen's replacement case tapers in so it won't fit in the capdase case.... so right now if i use the mugen 3000mah, i just take the phone around 'naked'.
i've been pondering the possibility of one of those cases with the half plastic thing that goes over the keyboard will work... the mugen case makes the phone about 1-2mm thicker. but then again, i'm not keen to buy yet another case for the thing.
That's interesting. 1-2mm thicker isn't that much really. But looking at the Capdase leather and the Nakedcellphone's plastic case pictures it seems It was specially made for the standard hatch+battery. I guess the same applies for the Seidio one.
I have an old Axim X50V with an extended battery and a PDAir alu hard case so it shouldn't be impossible to make one for the Kaiser.
Have you checked if the phone with the Mugen battery works with the OEM leather case?
Thanks.
edit: I think I meant the standard leather case.
so far ??? only one will do with the Mugen 3000mAh ...
Kaiser stock case

Unfortunately, the at&t version doesn't come with a case at all. Where can I find the Kaiser stock case? I couldn't find anything on HTC's website.
Thanks,

If we are thinking about the same Kaiser stock case (the horizontal one in leather) then I have tried this one and it isn't optimal. The phone is simply to tightly squeezed inside the case.
Actually I bought a case from the same shop on Ebay that sold the Mugen battery (Nakedcellphone) and it fits perfectly with enough room for ventilation but the sides of the clip are starting to fall off for some reason so I've put that one away. The best option for me would be a hard case probably by PDAir but I can't find one. The problem with these belt cases is that whenever you want to use your phone It's unprotected.
At the moment I'm simply using a thick textile bag for it. I also have the phone around the neck with a necklace. It works ok but I would really like a rubberized or a hard case.

I seem to remember seeing it on bestbuy business. Otherwise try ebay.
I think this is one actually. Looks like this but with HTC logo on the front.

Hey gang,
I got a spare battery and external charger to take with me when I am traveling.
my question is...has anyone broken the battery cover or the 'locking' tabs while removing the door? I am trying to figure out how careful I should be, or should I try to limit the number of times that I open/close the casing?
thanx
mine had the camera lens cover knocked out & split in half a long time ago (the seam between texture & gloss plastic). just ask HTC for a new one on their website. theyll send a new one.
Mine was fine coming on and off. I did break a tab however when I dropped my phone.... but who's fault is that?
Hi, I'm looking for the stock back battery cover. I would like to have an extra if possible since this phone scratches so easily even with a case on it dust and dirt always seem to find a way in between the phone and the case to scratch it. I don't even know if u can find these anywhere but suggestions would be great... And what are some good cases you would recommend? Thanks!
They're all over the place on eBay. They even have special ones made of aluminium, leather, and plastic with designs. You can just go to eBay or Amazon and search for "Galaxy S4 battery cover" to view the lot of them.
Here's a link to a stock one though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171033241749?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Does it work reliably? Does it add significant thickness with the original battery cover?
Thanks!

Hi!!..
I tried the cheaper amazon and ebay wireless charging inserts with a combination of different situations and yes there pretty good.. I have name brand chargers like the lg puck and the nokia one that is a little larger but i could'nt be happier... yes it had a very small bulge to the back of the stock case and it is so small that it's only a problem if u use a soft backed case like a tpu case.. made the phone kind of wobble in the middle when u set her down... but when I switched to a cheap hard backed case at that point it does not distort any longer and sits flat and fine.. The hard backed case makes finding the sweet spot on the charger a little harder and it takes a little extra to get it started charging simply because the hard backed case i have is WAY thicker than any tpu case I've used so it increases the distance from the receiver to the charger and makes the activation spot harder to find but once it is on its golden and charges just as fast and well as my old s4 I had that had the samsung charging back which made EVERY standard case totally incompatible... which was very frustrating considering I was trying not to wear out my fragile charge port and keep the phone unscratched... It was impossible so I went this way with my note 3 and all cases still fit.. and for $13 shipped for the receiver. It's much cheaper. And considering I still cant find the official back in stores around my area its a much better alternative.
I used these guys and this reciever.. ordered two so far... http://www.ebay.com/itm/31077619690...eName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I even took one and soldered some pins cut to the correct size to both of the leads and use this bad boy with my hyperion extended battery.. worked like a charm with minimal bulge coming out of the back case... so with the bulge u might want to invest in a fatboy pillow type charger... that way the bulge that is there wont even exist to the surface or bother u at all. Hope this helps.. :highfive:
Hey guys.
Might get this phone. Was wondering if anybody has the OtterBox preserver series case for it. I have the S4 and it has the Seidio Obex case on it which uses actual flaps to hold the front and back together. This makes it virtually impossible to separate from an impact. The way i saw the Preserver case seems as if they simply snap together. Does this make it easy to come apart when dropped?
Thanks!
