Replacement battery cover!? Suggestions - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hi, I'm looking for the stock back battery cover. I would like to have an extra if possible since this phone scratches so easily even with a case on it dust and dirt always seem to find a way in between the phone and the case to scratch it. I don't even know if u can find these anywhere but suggestions would be great... And what are some good cases you would recommend? Thanks!

They're all over the place on eBay. They even have special ones made of aluminium, leather, and plastic with designs. You can just go to eBay or Amazon and search for "Galaxy S4 battery cover" to view the lot of them.
Here's a link to a stock one though: http://www.ebay.com/itm/171033241749?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

Replacement Case for Scratched MDA Compact, JAM etc

Like a pratt, i dropped my MDA Compact while getting out of the car. It diudn't damage the phone (thank god) but did scratch the case to bits.
Does anyone konw where you can order a replacement?
I've tried HTC Europe, and yes they do a replacement service, but not just parts, and they want about £60 to replace and fit.
So any ideas? I'm sure i'm not the only one looking to replace their case!!!
Hi tricky,
I saw another post on this topic a while back. Just searched and found it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=16288.

looked there... as I said in the original post, I tried HTC Europe and they want about £60 to replace the case. I would need to send them the phone and be without it for probably 2 weeks!!
I'm after somewhere that just sells the front cover, so I can fix it myself
If you done replacing your case buy a silicon case or clear case or hard case for your device for it wont happen again.
Cheers, need to find a replacement case first!!!
Hi TrickyD
Yeah for some insane reason the cases are real expensive, i tried in Asia and they wanted equiv 65 pounds also.
Armed with the correct tools, one of those star shaped screwdrivers (techie speak) available anywhere, i took mine apart, which is quite easy. Followed by wet and dry sandpaper, primer and some mighty fine metalic black car paint and laquer. Its been like this now for about 2 months and not a scratch (yes ive dropped it to, but they are slippery little buggers)
If your that way inclined, do it, best decision i ever made.. Warranty void of course...
Regards
Gravity
Well, I dropped mine too. Instead of getting a replacement case, I just bought a charcoal Capdase cover for it. Now it doesn't fall because I can grip it so much easier. Unless you plan on selling it, you could just live with the scratches underneath the silicon cover, you won't see them.

Scratches on Athena body

Hello,
i want to change my Ameo in a new one because there are a lot of scratches on the front body. The reason is that the keyboard slipping on the surface of the body.
If any one have the same problem please Post it here because i want to show T- Mobile that this is a failure of construction.
Mine is exactly the same, I tried to take a picture, but it wasnt comming out very well, I was quite annoyed because I tried to keep it good. Does anybody know if this happens with the black ones or is it just silver. mine isnt insured and T-Mobile wouldnt entertain me for insurance because it was 3 months old. though I have heard you can insure it online somewhere.
i've got the same kind of scratches at exactly the same positions.
but i don't think t-mobile will do anything about this
i'ts a normal sign of use
I have some scratches as well, fairly similar to yours. I'll have some pics made if I can get a hold of a good enough camera.
I have a scratch at the bottom of the screen surround. The keyboard clear top has a tiny bump on it (from where it was moulded i think) and this has scratched the case! If it had a decent leather case then it wouldnt happen!
Same here, Same scratches, same area..
Guess we need to find a decent case to carry our precious around in...
Something that has some padding between the 2 parts.
Mine doesn't have this problem. Not a single scratch at all. It still look brand new. I don't use the keyboard or the leather case though. I just carry mine "naked" with my DIY belt pouch. I just have the standard free plastic screen protector over the screen area only and not the body.
This is ironic. The keyboard is supposed to protect but does the opposite.

It definetely does protect (the screen from cracks).
And imho some scratches on the body of the ameo are much better than a cracked screen
You now, we are speaking about a 800€ all in one device? Such a failure must not happen. If you had a 800€ Notebook with the same problem you would complaine about.
This is what my U1000 looks like close to the VGA camera on the front.
There are 2 more areas where I have some damage but I can't capture it properly on camera.
This is why we should take out insurance on our most expensive phones, as i hate scratches on my phones and if you complain about it with your provider/supplier and they are not willing to replace it when its a manufacture defect then i would personally claim on my insurance QUOTE (MY PHONE IS LOST/STOLEN TO GET BACK A REPLACEMENT) Its too expensive a device for it to scratch so easily.
I have the black HTC Advantage and I have the scratches too.
I have the black Athena and barely any scratches on mine. I use the stock case. The only time I got it scratched is when I first got it because I tried to use it without the case. Mistake on my part.
If you search the forum, you can also buy a $25 solution that protects your entire Athena. It's a plastic transparent covering that protects the entire body of the device. I think I may have posted it in the past to the accessories area. Well worth the tiny investment to protect the looks of your device.
Yep, I have the Black HTC Advantage X7500 and I have no scratches on it. I also do carry naked in my pocket especially around the office to meetings. However, I do feel I need something to protect it without gaining the bulk. I am still looking for a belt clip to carry it.
Just found this product.

Read good review on PocketPCThoughts for a different product.
Has anyone tried it? It states as full body shield which includes guards for keyboard as well.
Looks Intresting.. But we all know that these type of solution are never as easy to install (Esp. as there are 8 pieces for the Athena)
as they are in the Promo vidz. The vidz also mention that the film has Adhesive on it. How would this affect the deve by:
1. Discoloring over time
2. Being able to easily remove the film, if need or if damaged.
3. Being removed from the screen, without pulling the touchscreen's
touch sensor film off.
Has anybody tried this stuff yet? I think I'll wait for more feedback before I buy.

From some of comments, it seems easy to remove from a pda.
I don't know if that comment was from someone who works for ShieldZone though.

I just ordered one. I'm having it shipped via 3 day UPS. I'll post my thoughts once I try it out. For the cost it's worth a try. They also have a lifetime replacement policy so if they get screwed up you get a free one. We'll see how it goes.

I will wait for your feedback before I try one. It seems to be right thing to have with this device but I am not sure yet.

I have it on for over 4 months. Search this very forum for an extensive discussion on it. Easy to install with the water spray bottle provided. The screen protector is a bit sticky so I took it off and used a regular one.
Don't ask any more questions. Just search for the original thread here

Best case for being able to answer incoming calls with

I had a 8525, for a while and now got the tilt I had tried a lot of those plastic cases and other vertical and horizontal cases, my case that I ended using a lot for my 8525 was a simple leather case with all screen and front button visible and press able, the sides were quite exposed and all buttons were functional, camera was not visible but phone was easy to take out to txt or take pics.
I am looking for a case that I can see the screen preferably without having to flip anything or take the phone out, I do not care too much about having the phone keyboard slide out.
Sadly I was not able to find the same style of case for my tilt as I have had for my 8525 on ebay to me its really nice to be able to pick up phone and then quickly put it back on your belt or on your pocket.
I have seen something close but it has a flap, and it does have the keyboard sticking out, I just want to know if this has the camera visible or not and how easy would this case be to take off?
I plan to swap batteries as I don’t like charging my phone, it heats up a lot with charging phone and battery, I always had 2-3 extra batteries for my 8525 and never had to worry about low battery I had one or 2 fully charged ready to go any time.
The case in question is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Leather-Case-FO...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Here is another but meats even less of my requirements
http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-HTC-TYTN-II...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
this item meets requirements but has no plastic cover over the screen, so all the dmg resistance would be at the screen protectors job
http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-HTC-TYTN-II...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
has anyone else found something what i was talking about that is same with my 8525? i would use it if it would fit the tilt but that case does not
Thanks for directing me to the case in the 2nd link. It is just what i think i am looking for--a case which can fit a couple memory cards and credit cards, which also promises to fit the extended 3000mah mugen battery case--all things that my current seidio rubberized case cannot do.
Regarding the case which you are looking for, have you considered one of those metal cases? they don't provide quick access to the keyboard but do have cutouts for all the necessary buttons, and a physical "plexiglass" window covering the screen... from your description of what you need, they seem to fit the bill more closely.

I guess, FWIW, I am currently using the Seidio case, which is very nice, as far as it goes. The fit is perfect, it looks and feels great, and it also provides me with quick and unhindered access to the keyboard and all keys & functions. But as you said, it does not have a physical screen protector (i just use a regular screen protector, and it has done fine in my pocket so far). But it doesn't have any storage for memory cards or other things, nor is it able to fit my extended mugen battery when i want to use it. when i am using the Mugen, i just have to carry the kaiser loose in my pocket, but again with the screen protector.
The PDair aluminium case may fulfil your requirements.
The buttons/camera is exposed and the screen is protected by hard plastic. Can answer phone without doing anything, and is protected quite nicely. Pop open the front cover and you can slide out the keyboard.
i guess i should restate by what i mean answer the phone i mean to be able to see the screen right of the bat with the phone in the case its the cheapo case that most oems make, simple one point button snap at top, the only hard material is the back side, the rest of the device is held by leather like straps the screen is protected with a thick clear plastic/silicon material, and the front buttons.
i dont know i looked almost at all the ebay items listed when i did a search nothing came up that was exact as the one i had for the 8525.
the case also did not add much thickness to the phone, only the leather thickness pluse the back side and the belt clip.
I had tried all those snap on plastic, other full vertical with magnet and velcro and all that stuff... i ended up using that cheap and simple case for my hermes/8525 :/ now i want same for my tilt.
i might just take a pic.
Sorry when I said hard plastic I meant hard _transparent_ plastic.

[Q] Where to buy the back plastic cover for the play?

Hey guys anyone knows from where I can buy an extra back cover ( the plastic cover )
I wanna make sure that I can buy in case mine gets scratched or damaged as it is plastic.
I would have been really great if they made the back cover metal instead of plastic.
Only found one page that said they had it, but didn't have a picture..
Also, it's a very new phone and not even released world wide yet. It will come eventually, i think
Try ebay if you trust it. Check the feedback ratings. Be careful for knockoffs, unless you don't mind getting one.
they'll be out very very soon, remember this isnt out worldwide yet

Slim Mi2s flip case that replaces the back of the phone

Does anyone know of a seller that will post to the UK who sells the flip case that replaces the back of the phone instead of just covering it and making it even thicker. I'm looking for a case like this one. Unfortunately, that seller doesn't actually post out the case he has pictures of and sent out one like this.
It's one of my favourite things about the mi2s that you can get a case that you take the original back of and replace it with a case that is slim, but still protects the screen. I tend to buy a new one of these cases every year when they get worn out - but no-one seems to see them any more. This phone is chunky enough and I don't want to make it even bigger and heavier with a case to protect it. Also, I don't even know where the original non-flip back of the case is any more that I'd need for the cases that everyone else seems to sell!
Thanks very much
