Remap Search Sofkey to Camera

This should work on ANY rom
This remaps a longpress on the search softkey to the camera. aka....a long press on the search softkey will pull up the camera.

And people like you are reasons why other devs dont like to help us out. Give credit, and most of the time, they allow. I used 5 diff devs stuff in my release. Got permission from all of them. They said, thanks for asking. Thats all it takes. Its called respect. And working together.
EDIT: XDA must have thought he was bad since they banned him, but he is now back again.

alright look, im not fighting for him only stating that this is a forum dedicated to doing things your told you can't, correct? i don't agree with the fact that hes not giving credit to other devs or posting links back to original files. trust me i understand how having things stolen feels. but in his defense mabey speaking with him instead of accusing might be a good idea. Apple is suing GOOGLE for stealing ideas. honestly our phones seem to have been built around stolen ideas,

It's so that anyone can adapt it however they want. I could even care less about credit, since that's the OP's choice.
And being that it's such a low level hack, all it takes is a little bit of tinkering to figure everything out.

Thanks for giving credit to decadeance. Just FYI for anyone else that might be wondering, using the work of others without giving due credit IS against the rules of XDA-Developers.
12. Using the work of others.
If you are developing something that is based on the work of another Member, you MUST first seek their permission, and you must give credit to the member whose work you used. If a dispute occurs about who developed / created a piece of work, first try to settle the matter by private message and NOT in open forum. If this fails then you may contact a moderator with clear evidence that the work was created by you.
Convincing evidence will result in copied work being removed. If there is no clear evidence you created the work then in the spirit of sharing all work will remain posted on the forums.
These rules apply to all software posted on XDA unless that software comes with a license that waives these rules.

Since this was resolved in a matter of which did not require a moderators attention then no warnings will be issued since it seems to have been an honest mistake. It is true that this is OPEN SOURCE however that does not mean that you can claim rights to another developers work. We are striving to aid others in achieving more with the community but a house divided against itself cannot stand. Work together, treat each other with respect, resolve issues/problems/differences via private messages whenever possible to keep the forum from getting out of hand and always remember to follow the rules.

Actually... the OP's account was disabled until further notice because enough compelling evidence was recently discovered to prove that he was "guilty" and because the fact that he is a repeat offender we had no choice but to take the necessary actions.

Wanted...Alive! Android 2.2 w/Sense

I'm probably nuts but I've been called worse on the Hero Forum...LOL...but here is it. I am not a Sense lover, I am a Hero fan so I would really like to see Android 2.2 running Sense on my phone. So...I am hereby offering a reward/bounty/incentive to the first person that can post a fully functioning ROM to the forum that is Android 2.2 with Sense. I am offering $100. I know it's not a ton for what you will be doing but I'm sure that its more than most of you make on here. This is a very serious offer, take me up on it and find out. If anyone else comes along and wants to add to the pot, we will just all make a pact to fulfill the bounty when the product is delivered. Maybe together we can make this worth someone's while...
The rules:
It has to be fully functioning. That means everything, phone, camera, camcorder, mms, sms, gps, etc...and Sense (I think there is a new Sense that goes with Android 2.2) has to work too, all of it. I won't be the judge of this, I'll get someone who is more qualified than me, hopefully I can persuade someone like impaler747 to be the judge.
Needs to be done by mid Jan. as I get a new phone in Feb.
I'm not rich but I think this is worth it and with the dropoff of Hero devs lately I think someone needs to step up and put out some incentive. Any takers?
PS-If this is offensive to anyone, sorry, just trying to help and I am not smart enough to learn 'devving' and too old to start anyways. LOL

I'm no dev, I really appreciate all the FREE hard work they have done to make my phone amazing, and I try to help other members when i can, but check how many legitimate threads i've started with dumbass questions, oh that's right, i haven't made a legitimate thread, and i've been here since early '09.

well, i guess i don't really know, but logic is not on your side. for instance, you claim to want to donate to a dev, yet you have no donation stars next to your name on xda? also, why give up a hundred a few weeks before an upgrade? also, why not donate to the existing devs for the existing rom which works in almost every way... i am sure all the devs who have been working on sense 2.2 for MONTHS are going to go really really fast now just for you good luck. i will no longer respond.

Youre right, I havent donated to anyone here before, I did donate to cyanogen for cm6. Im glad you wont respond anymore, youve proven your point so clearly up to this point on something that had absolutely nothing to do with you and clearly didnt interest you anyways so peddle your crap elsewhere thanks. I have modded the Settings.apk to show both the internal and external storage. It works and does show both, but it displays the internal memory on both fields. Using the stock kernel provided with the rom I have not been able to access my external memory card (haven't cared either b/c I never use it). I see no grounds for a continuation and thread should be re-opened.
Upon re-reading rule 12, it appears that both the member who made the complaint and the Mod who closed the thread will need to review rule 12 as the protocols that it sets forth were not followed.
Let me also note here that Sombionix and myself have a great working relationship and that I do not expect this to change that.

I contacted @Krylon360 last night and told him that wasn't a good thing.
I hate how someone can kang someone and NOTHING happens but when someone else kangs someone everything happens.
When I talked to him I told him what he did wasn't good & he just said well they put a lot of work into it.
Let me tell you, my secgps script is in bionix, opened a case, nothing happened. I sent stock, mine, and his, and they told me nothing could be done because of the '#Generated by' at the top even though I sent stock aslo (Which is way different)
I spent a while to get that to work for some of the people having gps problems, and to my suprise krylon knew what GPS script I was talking last night (I also have screenies, but not trying to start anything) He said "Yeah, Frost isn't using the one that is in bionix"
If they wanted the dev wars to stop, why did they start this again?

This kanging subject has really gotten out of hand. Maybe i am wrong since i am not a dev but tell me this ain't most of the codes,scripts,kernel,and such written by google or the phones manufacturer and the devs just change a few lines of code and such to basically say that it his or hers. If thats the case android wouldnt be open source in which its suppose to be. everyone steals from everybody thats the way the world world works get used to it. I'm sorry but team whiskey should be called called team drunk with power or team anal retentive. If they are so worried about everyone kanging their brilliant ideas I'm suprised that they don't stop the themers from themeing their roms since you know how anal they can be. Which in point somehow i feel they really cant say anything cause if it wasn't for supercurio and his voodoo injected kernels then where would their rom's be thank goodness he says that he doesnt care who uses his work too bad everyone can not think and be like he is. unless you can truly prove that you built your kernel, rom, etc from the ground up with no source or anything then you probably are in the same boat as the one's you are accusing of stealing your work.

All I want to say is I appreciate each and every DEV and every TEAM on here at XDA. But really, who cares, who does what and who did what first. We (consumer) appreciate it all and I feel you all get donated to equally. With that said....
TEAM EDT - Do your thing! Love your work and will continue to support you guys fully! Master you as well!

Everything I've seen from EDT, they always give credit and offer info to anyone about where they get anything they use. You guys seem very honest, and I don't know why anyone would freak out about you using anything from them.

UGH, It seems as though all devs play nice with each other for a couple weeks and then something like this pops up seemingly out of nowhere.
It's like the menstrual cycle of XDA developers. lol.
I am not partial to any certain DEV. I've first used TW roms then made the move to Trigger. Both great teams who put out great stuff.
Hopefully this gets worked out. I mean come on guys. It seems at least to me all devs try to give credit where it's due. Can't we all just get along?

WHats funny, is I have seen in TW threads, EDT members giving them certain help and vice versa. Just in the one krylon is working on I see JF giving help with certain scripts and krylon using them to adjust things to get them working. So why in the world would he be upset.

I usually supports TW and their roms but in this case I would have to go with EDT.
It just seems a little extreme to immediately report a thread and not be able to talk privately before public actions were taken.
In addition, obviously at one point TW posted the source, or at one point given it to EDT. Now, EDT used it in a rom and has given credit to TW/EB in their opening post, I failed to understand how this is constituted as Kanging.

I've seen Master help both TW/EDT, Ive seen the xboarder help with MUIU, I've seen EDT help TW, and TW help EDT. It's been great here recently, why ruin it now krylon? I followed you and your work closely and this will not effect that, but this was way out of line bro!

i don't think any dev here will probably say i did all the work by myself i dont need help doing anything from anyone i built the kernel,rom,themed,etc... by myself. i even manufactured the phone and distributed it out of the trunk of my car this is totally mine.

Correct me if im wrong, but wasn't EDT a collaborator in the original build of the 2.2.1 kernel base that both TW and EDT are using? I don't see an issue here as they have just as much right to use the 2.2.1 kernel as any one else does.

no i asked to take down jasonmaloney's build and my build (two seperate things) b/c we both posted our build's on liquid's thread without his permission.....which was a big no no....but i made things worse by making a seperate thread....again sorry liquid. so there was no need to credit jasonmaloney, laie i know i messed up big time smh stupid move on my part

i said in my rom's thread that it was based of nfx rom and i gave him credit, i said what i did. i didn't do what i did with liquid's rom, two completely different things... il Duce ik i screwed up with this rom and again i won't be making any mess ups like this again (me = thinking before my actions from now on xda) sorry

My rom (I say that very loosely) is based on nfx, but only with full permission from nfinite and on popular request. Even further I credited (with permission ) anyone who helped in testing or debugging, and that is the proper thing to do.

Which means that it is my task and my right to put up the final update to my own ROM, not have someone else do it without even letting me know beforehand or asking me, and then posting my exact thread over again instead of PMing me the link to add it in the OP, and then telling me after the fact.
Kifno has already got in touch with me and we're working it out, you guys can relax now.

again we talked things out and i'm sorry bro. and yes i may just be improving others work (the espreeso 2.1 rom i posted) and changing things, i never took full credit actually most of it goes to nfx b/c everyday i wake up he has a pm in my inbox helping me out with the espresso 2.1 rom, it wouldn't be where it is at without his help. only thing i can take full credit for is my build.prop's thats the only thing i actually did from my own work as for the espresso 2.1 rom that was from the help of many other members on this site, i never took full credit for that rom. i use the term my rom, when i refer to the espresso 2.1 rom, b/c i changed it, not b/c i developed it from scratch and did everything to it on my own, i'm not a super-dev yet lol. i'm just improving other's work and learning along the way and giving them credit and asking permission along the way from now on until i know enough to make something of my own again (besides text files lol) that will be of great help to the community....but for now i'm focuses on improving my rom (AGAIN IT ISN'T COMPLETELY MY ROM MANY OTHERS HELPED ME ALONG THE WAY) and helping others with their work for the hero and problems....first person on the list....liquid!!!!!! (we're pming each other now folks working this out for the better so its alright)

You know what man, you're a smark kid, you just take things a bit fast.
You'll grow to understand what it means to command respect here, and I'm sure you'll earn it from everyone. This place is bursting with ideas and creativity, but just PM ROM devs in the future. Every ROM dev needs help, there's no denying that. Sometimes the help you have to offer isn't enough or isn't to their preference, but there's never any harm in PMing to find out.
As far as my ROM goes, with your help, we'll finish this up and finally put an end to all this over exaggerated madness.

I'm proud to call you a fellow human being. I've been watching this escalate and deescalate and I must say it's been a roller coaster ride. I must say some people have been a bit harsher than they should have, but it's understandable when looked at from a different perspective. Kudos to you again.

does anyone else realize that a certain developer is just taking money from people and not producing any results?
and then he appears as this super mysterious person that says a few words on his so called "progress" and then more people donate but still nothing is happening.
he had an overclock thread that people donated to see completed but that didn't happen....
i understand that developing takes time, but seriously, every other developer explains a little better about what exactly they have accomplished and don't leave things to interpretation of the users.

He wasnt too busy to confirm the new GB build for unlocked devices is stable, just in the past 24 hours. He also offered to give anybody their donations back when he didnt have to do that. You ask the man to do the imposible and then complain he hasnt met your time frame? At least hes not holding it over your head telling you he can have an unlocked bootloader and you cant. This community is for sharing. Kholk has shared code and time, you have shared what? Maybe $20? And so you expect to be updated daily? Weekly? Not how it works. DG did take peeps money and run, kholk is here still.

This statement alone probably got him dozens more donations and for what?

by the way, kholk is also suffering from a broken pc. this was already discuss in a different thread on the dev section. no one ask you to donate. this people do it for free, to learn, to help. if you donated and feel is not worth it, theres a way to cancel your donation on paypal. im a dev myself, and i can tell you first hand that the work this guys are doing is difficult. breaking the security on a bootloader that a group of engineers created is difficult, and doing it by himself is even more difficult. this threads only serve as a way out for most devs. of course the atrix is getting no love, theres people that instead of helping, rather poop talk!

Nobody is forced to donate. Some of us donate during the process and others after the outcome or not at all.
Personally I gave up hope on anyone unlocking or bypassing the boot loader except moto. Kexec and 2nd initial and 2.3 previews are spaced evenly enough to keep us entertained tho.
