I'm now hitting 15 days of uptime so basically since the day I first got it. That's quite impressive for me, I've had a lot of phones and they all had some issue that you needed to reboot to clear or would random reboot by themselves. This goes for the S3, Nexus 4, S5, Nexus 5. Etc.
Its nice to use a solid phone. Everything still works fast and great and no issues. Battery life is consistent still too. This is going to be even more awesome once Lollipop hits. [emoji3]

No, uptime is how long it has been since the last boot of the phone.
He hasn't turned it off in 15 days for any reason.
Amen! I love this phone so far and really love what Motorola has done with this phone and the past tons of other Motorola phones I have had. Lollipop will run smooth on this device. Cannot wait.

Yeah this phone is badass, I'm glad all the complaints I heard didn't stop me from buying one. No regrets at all.
I've got 15 days beat.
My Turbo is showing 396 hours uptime. That's 16.5 days.
The phone isn't workout its quirks, but the software and memory management are definitely stable.

That's right. 15 days without a power off or reboot? Why should I? Thing is super stable which is something I really wanted.
I'm with you guys! Love this phone. First phone I've not cared if I had root on. Sure root would be nice, but it's stable, fast and nearly stock. Love it.
Occasionally my phone will lock up and reboot itself. This has happened maybe 3-4 times since November 2nd. I have not done any updates yet, the phone seems rock solid most of the time. But unknown reasons for phone reboots is never a good feeling. It's the whole reason I upgraded my s4 for the turbo, to avoid random rebooting (a random reboot could cost me my job so its crucial that my phones are rock solid).

Droid Maxx, the Turbo's predecessor was that way for me. It really didn't need root. The 2014 X and the Turbo carry on the tradition.

Sounds like yours is defective or you have an app installed that's causing issues. I have not had a reboot yet. My phone hasn't been on this whole time but that's because I've switched from art to dalvik a few times
Anybody that would run a motorola phone for 15 days is brave. Don't take offense please. But I always reboot my droid maxx every 3 days just to keep things smooth.
I guess without modifications and you're happy with the performance then that's awesome.
I really wish I could say the same tho. But I gotta have root or unlocked bootloader. The turbo is the best phone out there period. Love the capacitive buttons. Nexus 6 is only better because it's unlock able. But I love love love the droid brand.

When you're coming from phones that would slow down to a crawl or crash or reboot often it is something I'm really enjoying it.
I am only on day the with this phone but the battery, display, operation smoothness and build quality are top notch. Coming from the DNA I was skeptical about whether I should up grade or not. I am glad I did.

I must be the only one in this forum with a working t-mobile vibrant.
Works great and never had the gps issue either.
Keep up the good work T-mobile!
You're not the only one.
my compass was wonky though, but the JI2 Rom fixed it for me.
glad to hear your's works fine.
I am on my third Vibrant...
My first one was perfect: GPS worked, no lag issues etc. Unfortunately the menu key became nonresponsive...
Mine works great also
My Vibrant is just fine

The one that I have currently works great. I returned my first one because the home button quit working, gps also sucked on that one as well. I knew that there was a problem because my wifes vibrants gps works great.

It's nice to see a thread complimenting this wonderful phone instead of complaining. I also love my phone. Rooted, applied the GPS flashable .zip, and lag fix, but since then, everything's been flawless. Well, the battery life could be a little better, but I get through the day. And the fact that I can't sync with my Google Groups is kind of annoying, too. Haha. But it's cool to see my iPhone friends drool over the greatness that is my Vibrant.
Cheers.
A good amount of people with problems are the ones that hack up their phones. I don't install garbage roms on my phone and I don't have any "lag" "fixes" on my phone and it works great. I updated my phone to JI2 and performance is exactly where I want it to be. Battery life is excellent, EVEN BETTER - despite the fact that I have Tweetcaster, Google Talk, Tweetdeck, Google News&Weather, Fancy Widget AND Feeds & updates syncing every hour or 3. 13 hours of time unplugged right now @ 60% left. Slept for 10 of those hours, left it alone for 2 and I've been used it for maybe 1 hour. Now I'm going to really wake up..
LOVING my Vibrant.
The people complaining are people who expect more from the hardware. This phone is a monster when it comes to specs, but its not showing it software wise, yet.
Personally, coming a blackberry, I don't notice any lag lol.
How you got install JI2... to make the phone run smoother. If you don't mind.

Using Ji2 also. I haven't bass much problem with my phone, except for lousy 3G, which got better with Ji2, but is ultimately a network problem in my area.
GPS and compass were wonky, but Ji2 fixed that. I have never had the supposed lag that everyone talks about. Did they expect a beowulf cluster of MIT supercomputers under the touchscreen?
As some others have said, those who have problems tend to also run extensively modded ROMS and overclocked kernels, etc.

I switched to the Vibrant from the iPhone 3GS since the contract was finished and I couldn't be happier. This screen leaves the self-promoting "retina" screen in the dust. Black is black on this phone, period. Looking back at the iPhone, the colors now seem to be washed out. The Vibrant is really so vibrant and so light that I can put it in the shirt pocket and don't notice anything. However, after two weeks, I start seeing some worrisome symptoms. Occasionally, the phone becomes so sluggish that only a reboot will fix. I can't let the phone running constantly for many days without rebooting to get the responsiveness back. Even when a call comes in, the screen just not responds to touch until 10 sec later. The System Sound turns itself back so loud that when you reboot the phone, you have to keep the finger on the loudspeaker hole in the back to keep the sound down in the office and then set the System Sound down again for quiet shutdown. In side my house, the signal strength drops to around 0. Many time the phone just does not bother searching for signal any more. When I get into the car and drive out, the phone does not refresh searching for signal. I have to manually turn off and then on the flight mode for the phone to wake up, search for signal and lock it. This relock is very quick, but it's annoying that I have to remember to give the phone a kick to search after it looses the signal for a while.
All problems above are small problems, but they remind me the symptoms of Microsoft Windows before Windows 7 finally came. Any one has the annoying problems that I have? Note that I have Android 1.2 update 1 and I do not have any issue with GPS. Overall it's a much better phone than the iPhone, since I don't have the feeling of locking into ONE company for hardware and for software and I don't have to jailbreak it to get what I want. Thank you for all you guys writing great software for the Android platform. Samsung did a good job with this phone. Maybe Android 2.2 fixes all issues above. Can't wait.

How's your battery life?
I love the screen, too, but after two months with the phone I can't wait for 2.2 to hopefully fix some of the issues, and 3.0 to revamp the UI a bit - it's just not as smooth as the iPhone. And I hate the battery life compared to the iPhone.
But, the screen rocks.
I've had my nexus 4 since it launched in late 2012, is been great but I can't put up with the bad battery life anymore. Even under clocked it, changed kernals, used other ROMs then coming back to the latest stock. Nothing I did could improve it without significantly crippling the phone performance to the point of making it unusable! But besides that, it's been a nice slick device, bit on the simple side but it delivered
Anyway enough on the nexus 4, I'm getting a refurbished G2 tomorrow, paid an amazing price for it same as the nexus 4 when I bought that.
Is there anything I should know our expect coming from someone who is very used to stock android, and the nexus 4 in general hardware side? Have I got lots to look forward to, or should I keep my expectations low and for those that come from the same device as me and now own the g2, let me know!
It will be good I also switch from nexus 4

I agree, I think G2 is perfect size though. Anything bigger is just too much.
Thanks for the replies! Will do a quick review of it when I get it in the morning or late at night after I come home from work, well see when the postie arrives hah. Been really looking forward to it! Will I miss the build quality of the Nexus 4?
G2 stock is fast and responsive. The custom roms make it all the more smoother.
I used to do all the tweaks to conserve battery in my previous phone, in G2 I'm just trying out all the new roms, not worrying about not having enough battery at all. The focus has turned to performance, since battery is no longer an issue

I came from a Nexus 4 as well and I find the G2 better in every way...there is no comparison it's in a different league. The only thing I miss is the quick OS updates.
I wasnt sure how I would like running a phone with it's own spin on the UI, and had intended to flash a ROM with a more Nexus type experience, but I actually really like a lot of the extra features that LG has baked in to the OS.
Cheers,

Came form a Nexus 4 as well. Had the G2 months now, and it is by far a better phone. I kind of miss the glass feel of the Nexus, but it's a very minor whinge is that.
As for first thing to do with it . . . . Set it up, and run it in, may as well leave it completely stock to see how you like that first. Then start tweaking, Nova launcher + Root + Custom Recovery + Xposed + Custom Kernel + Xdabbeb camera mod. I've got all that done, getting around 40-46 hours battery life with 5-6 hours screen on time at 60% brightness permanently and plenty of normal usage and still have 5% battery life left. If I was a very very light user, getting 3 days out of it would be easy.

I will admit that even though I stayed completely stock for ages, as in using lg launcher etc, I always disable things like qslide and all the other things they added, apart from knock on obviously, as that is now something I couldn't live without.
Alright got it I've played around with it for about an hour, messing with settings and setting up my accounts on various apps, all ready to go.
First impression is wow, its beautiful Such a nice screen! And it actually feels lighter then my nexus 4 because of the weight distribution of it in your hand, its spread out more across your hand so it feels lighter then it really is. Great job LG! I do miss the glass feel a tiny bit, I don't mind the plastic feel to be honest, I have dry hands so it actually has a good grip compared to glass for me! I realise I need root already though, because of my precious Titanium Backup going to figure that out next!
Overall first impressions of the hardware and software is very good, glad to see the standards are raised up so high these days, and this is the result.
Oh man the first thing I wanted to do was change that default notification and ring sound STRAIGHT AWAY! So cheesy and blaaaaah! I liked the 'Pick up your phone' choir though, had a good laugh from that one

It's going great so far I mean I've had Android since day 2 with the og droid. So I tinker ALOT! I'M RATHER IMPRESSED... Id lie if I told u it was faster but I see no change so far.. Weird though about the benchmark increase!

Hi, I'm new here, so first I'd like to say hi, I'm the proud and happiest owner of a brand new Moto Maxx (I'm from Argentina).
So far the phone feels great, and after reading this post I decided to turn on Encryption, and so far it works great, since I don't notice anything different with the phone, being snappy as I've felt it these days.
I'm in love with this phone.
««Droid1019, to turn encryption on you need to have full battery (100% charge) AND being plugged in with the charger turbo or otherwise).
It says it takes around an hour, but in my case it wasn't more than 30 minutes I believe)»»
Recommended, although in my case I have one complaint.
I turned encryption with PIN enabled as the unlocking mechanism, and so when the phone turns on it asks for my PIN. But when the phone is locked, anyone can turn it off without the PIN, though making the encryption less effective if my phone gets stolen, since even when locked and encrypted I can't locate my phone with the "find my phone Android equivalent", whose name I can't recall right now.
I really dislike this "feature".

I would say go for it if you don't care about the Spen. The Note 3 is a great phone but I enjoy the Pure alot more. There is no bloat to speak of and you can unlock the bootloader and flash whatever you want. Camera wise the Pure is better. I especially like the Moto display where you can wave your hand in front of the lock screen to see your notifications and unlock it instead of pressing buttons. I would suggest to get at least a 32GB or more model. I currently have the 16GB one and find it too small so I have a 64GB on it's way. It makes things easier when flashing ROMs because you don't need to format the external SD to adaptive storage.

Im not sure why those reviews say that.
I constantly get 4 - 5hrs screen on time, occasionally it'll get 6hrs screen on time, that was on stock non rooted.
I've also recently rooted and flashed xposed with gravity box and still continue to get very acceptable battery life.

I came from note 3 as well. On it since it came out. I've seen quite a spread on what people get. I'll low ball and say definitely 3 1/2, 4 1/2 with some management. Better build than 3 (expected). You'll have to get used to the color changes. Samsung saturates, so remember that. Someone posted getting 32 at least. I definitely agree with that statement. Don't bother with 16, even with the availability of SD card. Great radio. Unlocked for carriers. Price can't be beat. Only other option would be Nexus 6P.

Def agree with everyone to get 32gb or above. What took me by surprise is this phone has no LED notification.....unless your rooted and running a rom which supports it (most do). Also when you root you will be able to control doze much more efficiently and get much better standby battery. This has the brightest screen I have ever seen (have it on 5%-10% while indoors), great audio jack/speaker sound/reception/camera and battery charges ridiculously quick. It's safe to say you will love this phone.

@spookykidmm, don't listen to this clown. Xposed doesn't affect battery life. If you're running some janky modules, you could run in to issues, but that's not Xposed. Additionally, normal battery life is not pathetic. Battery life on the Galaxy S6 is pathetic. I usually average between 5-6 hrs SOT depending on usage (with or without Xposed). Typically the people on here that complain are in the minority... that's true for nearly every phone. And a lot of times, they screw things up on their own and blame the phone

Since battery depends on many variables like screen brightness, signal strength, apps installed, sync frequency, etc....your setup could be giving you horrible battery life, but explain to me how xposed makes battery that much worse....you must have many modules incorrectly configured.
My girlfriend upgraded from her Note 3 to the Moto X Pure when I upgraded at the same time from my LG G4 to this and we're both EXTREMELY satisfied. Dev support is on the rise so you'll have a few choices in ROMs. I'm currently rockin' TruPureXMM v2.5 with Franken Kernel using his Battery Profile settings, xPosed with GravityBox, Amplify & XGPM and can honestly say I couldn't be much happier with the experience overall.
We have the 64 GB models and neither of us use an sdCard since it's been more than enough for us. Google Photos keeps our photos stored and Google Play Music is our choice of service (Family Plan for $14.99 a month) which lets us stream our over 23,000 song collection and gives us access to any song on Google Play with no ads and since we have T-Mobile the music streaming isn't going against our high speed data, which is very nice. As other are saying, you will enjoy the dual-front speakers, the screen is great, and battery life is within reasonable acceptance. You can squeeze more out of it fairly easily with some tweaking and the quick-charge is INSANE. You can't beat the charger that comes with this phone.
I have checked this phone in two different stores in retail mode. Both phones presented a weird slowness when coming back from an app to the home screen. Not always but sometimes. It took 2-3 seconds to load the home screen and icons. It was very weird from an otherwise snappy phone. Have any of you experienced this?
I have never experienced it. Own it for 5 months now. Lightning fast.

I second this. Hardware is top notch including the display. All the bells and whistles included.
Can you buy from somewhere you can return if not happy.
Slow has never been associated with the Mate 9. Software design is their main issue nowadays. They change/remove things without any real reason. Getting better with every version.
Lag, Stutter, freezing. Definitely NOT an issue with this phone. Best phone out. Buy it.

I would go for the one plus 3t software updates are gonna be a pain on this mate 9 already regret the purchase. Software always over hardware.
possible demo mode?
i agree software is going to be a pain, but this phone is amazing out of the box.
a little tweaking and youd never have to worry about updates...just the dev of this phone is going to be really slow until huawei release binaries...

Yeah but who likes sticking to an old version of android? Sorry new updates = security patches and overall a better experience with new features. I could not see myself recommending this phone to anyone on xda, maybe other people who do not care about updates and development.

I've came from Nexus 6p, OP3T knowing there wouldn't be much development as those phones had. But I would say this phones software isn't that bad, or as heavy as Samesung or LG. Ive rooted and returned back to stock which I am using now on the US version. It's an amazing phone as is and the camera blows out the OP3T and screen size is a must. I hate little phones (personal preference I know) so yeah the Nexus and OP do have the development communities but for the price and how well the phone is made and the smoothness of which the processor handles the work load it is definitely a great phone.

It was probably running an early build. My Mate 9 has had 3 updates since I got it. No lag whatsoever.
Same here, no lag in any situation. Buttery smooth. Though I got rid of the stock launcher as soon as possible.
I get it sometimes. Coming out of an app and the screen will be blank for a couple of seconds (just the wallpaper) then the apps appear
Lag is normal on my 156 fw. No double tap to wake up. And other things. But one is fine battery.
No issues here. Smoothest phone I have ever had.
