rSAP profile in MR2?

Please, can somebody already having MR2 in X2 check availability of rSAP profile under bluetooth options? Thanks!

under the profiles tab they are as follows;
A2DP
HSP
HFP 1.5
Pan
Opp
AVRCP
PBAP
SPP
SEWP
GAP
GAVDP
GOEP
no rSAP

Maybe similar *.CAB from an other device as HD2 can be installed? Ideas?

What's the importance of rSAP profile?
I read the other day that the miss of rSAP cause problems on some Bluetooth audio wireless car kits.
My X2 works without a glitch on my 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer with a Parrot MKi9000 device. Also, the other day I've tried my X2 on a 2010 Audi A4 with original Audi factory Bluetooth wireless kit, no problems either.

Mitsubishi Lancer is NOT using rSAP (remote SIM access). It pair with you phone as a regular Bluetooth hands free - mean that even when paired, all phone calls are still received and pass thru your phone. rSAP is complettely different story and brings all new functionality and user experience. Via rSAP (google it if you want to go to more technical details) your phone "borrow" his SIM card ID to the car, transfer phone book, SMS and sometimes e-mails to the car so you can see/use them on your car main display/navi etc... and then phone itself switch off his radio and goes in stand by mode. What's the difference ? To make calls you are using car's external antenna, car's amplifier, and build in car audio system - as a result you get MUCH BETTER reception even in areas where network coverage is not good and CRYSTAL CLEAR sound. This is included (since 2005) in All premium quality cars/models of All car manufacturers. As example for sure is included in my Mercedes C-class (who is even "lower end" compared with E and S-class models). It is also included in BMW, Audi, Toyota (premium quality models only), Lexus, Skoda, WV (premium models and as an option for low-end models.
NOTE: rSAP Bluetooth kit is considered "optional" for Audi A4 as it adds premium experience - in A6 or A8 should be "standard" and included without need to order it as an option.

I have already tried every .cab from HTC published here - unfortunately noone have worked :-(
Btw - same cabs have worked for X1, so I guess there are some differences in BT chip...
I would be also happy if someone find a solution...

I've heard from my friend that it was implemented with one of their last OS updates, so it's probably available on 3G and 3GS (not in original iPhone)

Yes, I have tested this - cab installs successfuly, car kit pairs with the phone (after enter 16 digit code) and then drops and phone says "Connection failed, try again when phone is ready" So nop - it didn't work...

[Q] Bluetooth SAP/rSAP on Windows Phone 7

Can anyone tell me if there is a technical reason Bluetooth SAP/rSAP cannot be delivered on the Windows Phone 7 platform, or are the just being lazy about delivering it??

So... no reply cause nobody knows or no reply cause I'm being a n00b and this is answered elsewhere? Or something worse?

Thanks - just saw that qualified listing and was a little disappointed. I checked the one for Apple iOS (listed as software version 4.1 and 4.2) and it also doesn't mention SAP or rSAP, but I know it does support those profiles, so I'm wondering whether I am just reading it wrong.
The differences are that iOS has:
RFCOMM
Bluetooth Network Encapsulation Protocol
Personal Area Networking Profile
HID
Interop Test Spec
Which one of these is linked to SAP/rSAP?

Well I suppose to be clear I don't "know", I just "think". The reason I "think" is because it communicates with my car, that says it "requires" SIM Access Profile, whereas my phone REFUSES to communicate with my car.
Additional detail: the car actually supports 2 bluetooth "modes": Headphone mode and SIM Access mode. If I have the car initiate the bluetooth connection it will use the remote SIM mode, and if the phone initiates the connection it will use the "headphones" mode.
A Nokia N97 works in both directions. As does the iPhone 3 and 4. My Samsung Omnia 7 won't do either.

Maybe Mango will be a solution, because it updates the Headset and Hands-free profiles.

PBA and your interpretation of it being very similar to SAP sounds quite interesting yet it will most likely not be recognized by SAP-only car-kits like the older VW premium handsfree-boxes. I for instance refrain from switching to any other OS than windows Mobile simply because i need my phone working with the car kit and i am not going to buy a new car because my phone doesnt support the current.
Well, anyhow. I was going to say, that if the PBA doesn't support some kinda fake-SAp mode (pretend to be sap or so) it will most likely not help anyone with sap-only car kits. not matter how much it is similar to sap.

While i have both versions of Windows OS and yes the 6.x suported rSAP, the new WP7 does not. If you want a new phone that supports rSAP then Android fills the bill. Microsoft really dropped the ball by not supporting rSAP. Like you, have a VW-based phone system and without rSAP support the current handsfree phone protocols in WP7 is basically worthless.

[Update]
Just updated my phone to Mango, and annoyingly neither the headphone mode or reomte SIM modes work. This is a deal-breaker for me.
While I was quite enjoying the phone I am now going to switch to a Galaxy SII which works reliably in both directions, and connects properly to my WiFi as well. A real shame, but I can't imagine another WP update will be coming too soon and I don't have any patience left.

Since update my Omnia 7 to Mango, I get a lot of "BT connection error" on my display car.

all working here.
car radio is a Kenwood.
Finally now the phone transmits the name of the song playing to the headunit! like windows mobile.
Voice comands thru the Headunit work amazing too.The other day i received an sms while driving, voice comand told me that there was a new sms from Ken,then it ask me if i wanted it read out loud! I said yes and it did, at the end it ask me if i want it to reply to.
Also this is the only phone that actually auto connects to the car stereo,all my android devices need to be reconnected manually.
Funny thing all of this was set up by just pairing the device with the headunit.

Well my "head unit" is integrated into the dash - it's a Porsche touch screen system called PCM (which I think, lamely, stands for Porsche Control Module). I have anecdotal evidence that other WP7 models will connect which makes me think it may actually be the Samsung Omnia 7 itself and not WP7 per se.
What sux is that my Samsung Galaxy S2 works perfectly and my wife's iPhone4 works perfectly. So it isn't the car.
...I really haven't got the patience to wait for the Win8 update and keep using headphones for the next year!

Share phone connection with TF101 via bluetooth

Hi, as the title said, I’d like to know what app are you using to share your phone’s 3G connection with the TF101 using bluetooth.
I tried everything but none works. Pdanet, etc.
And every single app does only wifi theter, not bluetooth.
Simply, i don’t know what to install on my Galaxy S2; I’d buy anything if sure that it’d work.

Does your phone model not support wireless hotspot??
Just saw that it is a galaxy s2, which means it should support wireless hotspot..you should root your galaxy and flash a rom with wireless hotspot hack enabled, no app needed.

First you'll have to root your Galaxy SII, if you're not ready/able to do that you can't really use bluetooth for tethering (I haven't found one that works WITHOUT root)

I don’t want to make my phone become an Hotspot, because it waste a lot of battery. I’d like to share connection via bluetooth so I can keep it always on without enormous battery drains. Which one do you use, No_u?

Here's the steps I performed to use Bluetooth internet sharing with my Motorola Milestone 2. I learnt that from a friend who paired an Asus Slider with his iPhone, so I'm pretty sure Samsung Galaxy S2 will be able to support Bluetooth internet sharing without root..
One-time set up (configure Bluetooth pairing)
- Turn on Bluetooth on both devices
- On Galaxy S2 (or other smartphone which support Bluetooth internet sharing profile), activate "Discoverable" mode.
- On Asus TF101, (under Bluetooth settings menu ya?), search for the smartphone and select to pair.
Every time when you want to activate internet sharing via Bluetooth
- Turn on Bluetooth on both devices,
- On Asus tF101, under Bluetooth settings -> Paired devices, press on the smartphone to 'connect
Done! Enjoy internet via smartphone Bluetooth.

TF101 support Bluetooth Tether (use phone as modem) with bluetooth PAN profile.
When pair with a phone has bluetooth PAN profile (it has 1 more icon in device list, just like A2DP profile has a headphone icon), just click on it to connect.
Many phone have bluetooth DUN profile (Dial-up Networking) but just a few have bluetooth PAN profile (personal area networks). I bought a SonyEricsson Cedar J108i for this function
You have to search in user manual, phone wiki page, ... to know what Bluetooth profile is supported.

What ROM? Stock, custom?
rSAP should work, mine works and my rSAP module also works as Bluetooth only, if I refuse to give it access to SIM first time, then in goes back to normal bluetooth setup..

I recently sold my Skoda Octavia that had rSAP Bluetooth and it worked fine with my Note 3.
I am on stock rooted ROM.

Enable Remote SIM Access Profile

Hi, i'd like to connect my phone to my car supporting rsap. According to specifications the LG H870 supports rSAP, however, when switching on bluetooth on the phone it won't find my car. Does anyone know how to enable rsap? Thx.
