I've heard setting a max of 2.5, governor yankeractive, and scheduler row seems pretty middle of the road. Intellidemand is usually good to sway that towards better battery.

Flashed trltecan kernel img 11/06 with Flashify - No issues on Boot - So far so good - Running as is for the time being.

Twisted - Any thoughts on using Intelliplug instead of MP Decision?
Also curious about the default Read Ahead value being what it is..
No issues with stability - The kernel is Rock Solid - Thanks!
One observation - The CPU spends a significant amount of time running at 1497Mhz - Is that intended?

I use Intelli for testing but I'm not sure of the real advantage beyond being configurable.
Not intentional but odd
I don't know if I'm reading this incorrectly - Or if cpu Scaling is altogether a different issue - but are we supposed to edit the Build.prop as in the screen shot below - And is this the reason why cpu managers are not able to get the settings to stick? 1497MHz seems to be the issue
I apologize for posting a similar post in the main thread

I tried the Deported version 11-13-2014 and I just get a boot loop. Tried both from Flashify and from Recovery using the image and also Auto install. Stockish installed alright though. Now I can give FireKatV4 a try at least.
Anything I can offer to try to figure out why the Deported version just boot loops? SM-N910W8 btw.

It's been reported. It should be fixed in the next build. I wouldn't recommend it with FireKat, though. They're very adamant about using the stock kernel.

Cool sounds good, I'm looking forward to it. I'll stick with stockish for now but when the "fixed" build comes out I'll at least give it a shot just to see how it does. I just got FireKat up and running so I need some time to get everything set up again anyway.
Hi there,
11-17 can: neither tritle (thru TWRP), nor *.IMG (thru Flashify) goes into my device at all.
11-16 is OK.
BTW, thanks for your work for Arcadia ROM, I use it now.

BTW guys, I won't be concentrating on development this week, and possibly for a while. My grandfather recently got diagnosed with brain cancer and I haven't had a lot of time on the computer (on the phone, yes. I'm on twitter a lot). Don't worry though, I'll get back on it soon
Here it is guys, the kernel you've never heard about. If you're a battery fanatic, this is the kernel for you. With a max clock of 800 MHz and a HZ of 100, this kernel will give you the best battery life you've ever had. Coupled with the optional Undervolting via Xan's Voltage Control app (download here, you're going to be getting a day or two out of this one. Seriously. Its really battery efficient.
You've also got BLN, Voodoo Sound v7, and xcaliburinhand's car dock fixes.
To those of you worrying about speed sacrifices, let me tell you, the tradeoff is worth it. You're getting several extra hours of battery life for a slightly reduced Linpack score. Trust me. It's worth it.
Disclaimer: This will eat your babies
Actually, I'm not responsible for any damage this kernel might do to the space-time continuum (or your phone)

So here it is.
I know 95% of you here are already familiar with Gokhan, developer of the most popular and unique Kernel for S2, and now S3.
While it is still early, i already created this thread so that noobs and developers alike can discuss their problem, solutions, praises, etc here. Thus, leaving the original thread as useful as possible to all of us.
Let's help Gokhan help us.
Sorry for the inconvenience i cause for a while, now let me give the details for IRC chat, thanks to omniwolf.

it is hard for me to maintain two different threads but I will try to read everything in this one and reply if the time permits.

Hi,
Can anyone explain if hotplug_on(hotplug ticked under CPU hotplug settings) has any effect if governor is set to pegasusq?
i can see only cpu0 is always active with this kernel,
is this normal behaviour for this kernel?
and also i cannot set sched_mc to 2 , it always revert back to 0
is it normal?

I fill fix sched_mc issue in the next version. but even after having it fixed I do not recommend you to use it if you do not have a reason. I applied that patch to have ARCH_POWER and sched_mc is there just for those who wants to experiment. but according to my experience there is no use of setting it to 1 or 2.
about cpu0, it should be active.. but if you mean only one core is active and not others pegasusq governor is a bit tweaked to activate the other cores a little harder than the original one.
if you run a stability test or benchmark you will see that the others become active as well.
and for extweaks hotplugging settings: they are only effective with ondemand and other "old" governors for now.
I will make 1,2,3-core modes available for pegasusq and hotplug governors later.
What are the recommended settings for governers etc?
Thanks for your explanation,
i am using stability test app from market,
i only see 2 cpu there

I've discovered a "fix" for ExTweaks displaying the "No Compatible Interfaces Detected" error. It seems it's caused by saving the battery profile which aren't implemented at the moment. To fix this use a root explorer and go to the following location.
/data/.siyah/
In this folder delete .active.profile and battery.profile and reboot.
ExTweaks should now be working again.

I have added init.d support to my latest kernel sleekai4. Included is a script to zip-align apps on boot, and a script for longer battery life.
Kernel located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647119
On other devices, if you have init.d support, my script should work for you too!
See second post in my kernel thread for details.
You will need busybox installed.
You will need root.
You will need SuperSU root enabled at boot for my script to work.

Yes. You can check the values by following the paths that are within the script. Example /sys/device/system/ setting, where "setting" is the value you want to check.
You may also use an app like trickster mod to see what your current CPU frequencies are.

As a second note, all these settings can be changed to whatever you like. Simply edit the numbers in the script after doing some research!

They are both in zip files already, but not together. You could do that on your own computer though! Unzip both files into a directory and
Code:
zip -r9 name_of_zip.zip *
Where "name of zip" is your name for the zip. All files in the directory get added, so make sure you sandbox them first!

My battery life is also really good. Had it on all night and have WiFi set to Keep WiFi on during sleep: Only when charging. It stayed at 76% all night
Hi everyone,
As some of you may know, I maintain two kernels right now, Swell and Intoxicated Boeffla. The issue here is one produces astounding battery life, but some people run into stutters and stuff like that, while the other produces fantastic performance and okay battery life but is limited by being based off of Boeffla. My point? I want to start fresh yet again, I want to introduce one more kernel before I call it quits, and I want YOU to shape it from the very start... So I leave you with one very important question... What do you want to see from me?
I'm not an expert in this... but keeping your approach in thermal controls - Swell is really cold! - while achieving a good battery/performance balance, seems to be good for my personal use. :cyclops:
And Alucard or ElementalX governors! (I don't have the slightest idea how difficulty can be to implement such a thing - I'm just a noob who likes to tweak and experiment new settings!).
1. Stable.
2. Depending on individual - good to have 3 settings or/and profiles - a. Balance, b. Performance, and c. Battery.
3. Many features e.g. Stable governors, IO, tweak charge voltage.
4. Smooth like butter.
I am not sure why i tried all kernel on my Sultan cm13 but got fc. Only blu_spark is most stable so i always switch back.
For your swell, i got fc on zzmoove. Other than smartmax, whats the other stable governor? I think should only keep the stable governor.
Lastly, i thank your for your hard and excellent work.
I would be very interested in a performance oriented kernel from scratch. I don't care much for all the other governors, I think that one should stick to well known and tested governors like interactive and ondemand(I'm using slimrom with ondemand governor right now). It's not the most battery friendly governor but i just don't mind it because I really hate seeing lag and stutter on my phone and it's like you said, battery oriented kernels tend to cause stutters and lag. Many users probably don't even care about stutters like me (proof of that is that I see a lot of people saying that oxygen os works perfectly and with good performance lol). Ondemand makes the phone really fast and I don't mind having a bit lower battery life honestly. I wish I knew how to tweak ondemand better though
ISO fs capability would be i nice (yet mostly useless feature). Also honestly i got no idea how hard it is to implement sth like that. [emoji14]
However i'm pretty satisfied by ur swell kernel. Don't really miss anything :highfive:

Smoothness and battery, we all have witnessed in Swell. For me it's outstanding kernel, I don't want to go with any other but then you're willing to work on new kernel, I'd need Swell part two with working USB ETHERNET module. <3

zzmove, with underclock 1.9Ghz, multicore power save OFF, Thunderplug/Alucard, GPU 389, Undervolt global voltage -30, no Xposed up till now, just flashed two days before. Only Greenify and blocked some wakelocks of facebook.
DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK. I AM RESPONSIBLE ETC.
As we all know, Our phone has a mediocre GPU and it becomes worse overtime if you play games due to heat throttling. What I have discovered is that the GPU itself does not heat that much, but the CPU heat affects the throttling too hard. Because of that, I tried to change some of the GPU values to improve on the problem and I think I have found one.
What this basically does is it disables DVFS on the GPU. You guys must be wondering "ohh that will screw up GPU from overheating etc". Well like I said, and this is my opinion, I think the heating is mostly from the CPU so our GPU does not heat that much.
Just put this file in the su.d folder in system root "su/su.d" and give it 0744 permision. Reboot after that.
I have perosnally tested this on Asphalt 8 from like 10 minutes and performance has improved a lot.

Nice one thanks. I remember something similar on the galaxy s4, disabling Samsung's dvfs to stop the GPU getting throttled during gameplay. Even if it heats up a good bit there should still be thermal throttling at a kernel level to stop it getting dangerously hot?

Currently using latest weekly of multirom. Previously I was on CN Dev rom. Infact I moved to custom ROM hoping if such condition changes. In the meantime let me flash global and dev ROM and see the result.
I've attached the bug report pops up after force close.
