it was the same with the moto 360, they'll have the same explanation
This looks like what they did on the Motorola 360.
Sent from my XT1095 using Tapatalk
What did they do on the 360/what was the explanation?
Or their reply
Motorola said:
The typical battery capacity for Moto 360 is 320mAh and the minimum is 300mAh. In the mobile industry, sometimes both the minimum and typical capacity is listed on the battery, with the typical capacity quoted as the official battery size. Both figures are included on the batteries of our Moto X, Moto E and Moto G devices. In the case of smaller devices, we aren’t always able to list both figures. For Moto 360, we only had room for one figure and choose to list the minimal capacity of the battery. We see how this can be confusing and we will look into ways to add the typical capacity as well in the future.

According to this app on my Moto X 2014
Sent from my XT1096 using XDA Free mobile app
2160 minimum and 2300 typical
same issue that the Moto 360 had when that looked at the battery.
not a big issue and not getting cheated.
Motorola has shown the minimum spec since the first Motorola phone I bought, the Motorola SLVR.
Honestly, this is the more honest approach, as everyone has a min/nom/max tolerance on batteries.
Difference is, only Motorola display this on their batteries.
Do you feel cheated? I get amazing battery life out of my X, I couldn't care less what the actual rating is.
As stated by @Shadowdancer123, I have also seen that they publish minimum and normal capacity on the battery of their devices. Currently I have Atrix 2 which has 1735/1785 marked on the battery.
There are some cheap Chinese phones which claim to come with 4000, 5000 MAh batteries. I have seen one such phone which started delivering only one day backup after few months of usage. Atleast this doesn't happen with Motorola, battery keeps performing consistently for much longer period of say 2.5-3 years or even more.

I love my Moto X and I don't care about battery life because I have juice until the end of day.

Closest review i found was for a 2200mAh model:
I've used similar ext. batteries (Energi brand), they only charged my old Samsung Captivate to 78% during a flight.
So... I only use them as emergency.
I would only need it for a quick topup.
The discussion page on teambuy says it has a 1A output so that would help.
I will be going on a weeklong event with long days and just dont wanna run out of juice before the day is over.
My N4 with minco and franco does stand insane battery life though so I wouldn't worry but would juts like to know the reliability of the product, being aware that they rarely respect their mah rating.
Why not an unu charger. They make the iPhone battery extenders that I see a lot of people use.

what is the size of the 1200mah one? the $12 deal is for the 2200mah, do you have a link to where you can get the 1200mah version?
1200mah is really small... Nowadays most people go for around 10000+ mah.
Oh wow crazy typo. I meant 2600 as per the teambuy link!

1200 would be nice if it was the size of a USB drive. It's not always practical to carry around a 10000mah charger.

Why there is so much different from n4?
I know ...this hw asks less power, but the problem( and the different) is in standby too...
With moto g, I've always deep sleep, without wakelock, ( sinc , 3g/WiFi always on)
With n4 this is impossible, I'm using the phone in the same way and with same apps...
Someone can answer?
Thanks...

As for screen on time, it's mostly hardware related.
The SoC draws way less power than the S4 pro. Also, the display is smaller, which gives it another advantage.
As for the HSPA/WiFi battery drain on the Nexus 4, it might be related to the modem itself. The S4 pro does not have an on-die modem. It's a completely different chip whereas on the Moto G the modem is actually on the same die as the rest of the SoC (correct me here if I'm wrong, please. I do remember reading that this SoC has it on die).
A sperate chip will generally draw more power than a completely integrated unit.
As for standby, I beg to differ. Standby is actually one of the strengths of the Nexus 4.
I don't know about the Moto G, but I am absolutely satisfied with the standby performance. SoT is abysmal, though.
Picture shows standby with 3G and sync on. Not a single percent lost from 9:00AM to 6:36PM.

I do like a decent Stand-alone, but this isn't decent, not with Wear and the cost.
i feel it's kinda thick at 14.2 mm and no NFC....... Why can't they just make an international version of Urbane LTE with AW?

Stainless steel casing
Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy integration
Water-resistant construction
36 hour battery life
Wireless charging
Accelerometer
Haptic vibration and LED notifications
Non-residue micro-suction adhesive backing
Its silly how they still use "water resistant"!

Hardware issue, a problem with the SIM data. They are refunding everyone because they do not have a solution yet. How can the QA/Testing teams not notice such a big bug.
If anyone has tried or tested the Samsung G2 S 3G or the LG Urbane LTE V1 WebOS or the Wear version, please let us know, the battery life will only be an issue.

I just bought my Moto X Style/Pure a week ago. XT1572, brand new so not rooted or anything. Besides the short battery life, what I notice is that the phone gets much hotter than my previous phone (Moto G 1st gen - I know this might be like comparing oranges and apples).
I took a snapshot of battery temperature since I got the phone. How does this compare to your phone? I am a light user, so mostly Gmail, Chrome, Youtube, Spotify, Google Music. I would say using Chrome or watching Youtube bring the phone to around 105F and sometimes above. I just tried 4K recording and the phone got super hot as well (like 120+ F). One thing to note is I am currently living in Southeast Asia so the weather and humidity here might be different. But again, I don't think it matters much if you have air conditioning all the time. I have done factory reset two times and tried to install only essential apps as well as to look for rogue apps with no luck. In safe mode, the phone is cooler by around 4 Fahrenheit. Anyway, hopefully I can figure out if my phone is faulty soon since I have a week left before I am no longer eligible to replace/return it.
Edit: For those of you who don't bother to see the photo, basically the phone fluctuates from 80F (idle) to 100F-102F (normal light activity) to 105F-106F (Chrome & Youtube a while) to sometimes 110F - 114F (excluding charging time).
Yes this phone gets a bit warm but not really hot. Here is mine during an average work day with general use all day long. The temp dip you see around 8-9am was when the phone was in a car mount with vent blowing on it.

Welcome to the hot club, same transition here ( Moto G 2013 to Moto X xt1575) using chrome and YouTube is a recipe for a mobile furnace, this is my last Moto phone, bye bye Lenovorola

41C/105F is no big deal actually... normal usage well turbo charging (which I rarely do) I have seen temps as high as 45C/113F and even 50C/120F although not for long, but have yet to see if there are long term effects.
Try to avoid using the stock charger, or any turbo charger, it will lower temps significantly and use a quality 1.5A+ standard charger... I never exceed 40F when charging with my 1.8A Blackberry Playbook charger and it charges significantly faster than my 1A charger (but still not near as fast as the turbo charger).
Is the capacity mentioned by this app normal or my battery capacity has decreased????

You're battery is OK. And an app isn't that accurate then a DMM for example to measure capacity. Capacity also depends on charge and first of all discharge conditions. Higher discharge current, lower capacity. That's cause of the internal resistance. I'm stop now with off topic.
Why should everybody post the same screenshot?

Batteries will degrade, sometimes significantly, over time naturally. However, there are a couple factors which will speed up degradation-
- heat
- turbo charging (which increases current, wear, and heat)
- severe cold
- fast discharges
Under normal conditions your battery may degrade a good 200 mAh per year. With heavy use you may lose as much as 20% capacity (400 mAh).
However, 2951 mAh is completely normal and the app isn't particularly accurate anyway.
This seems a little weird...
