I do like a decent Stand-alone, but this isn't decent, not with Wear and the cost.

i feel it's kinda thick at 14.2 mm and no NFC....... Why can't they just make an international version of Urbane LTE with AW?

THE DISC - Chronos measures under 3mm thin and 33mm in diameter to fit on over 80% of watches sold today. Equipped with:
Stainless steel casing
Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy integration
Water-resistant construction
36 hour battery life
Wireless charging
Accelerometer
Haptic vibration and LED notifications
Non-residue micro-suction adhesive backing
Its silly how they still use "water resistant"!

Hardware issue, a problem with the SIM data. They are refunding everyone because they do not have a solution yet. How can the QA/Testing teams not notice such a big bug.
If anyone has tried or tested the Samsung G2 S 3G or the LG Urbane LTE V1 WebOS or the Wear version, please let us know, the battery life will only be an issue.

According to Heise (http://www.heise.de/mobil/meldung/Tablet-Computer-mit-Infrastruktur-fuer-Verlage-961008.html - german!) it's not an Android tablet, but can run android apps via a wrapper.
I'd rather wait for ICD's Nvidia Tegra2 based Vega tablet...

I'll have a look at it, thanks for the link

There is also this, Enso Zenpad, Its a 5" resistive touch, android 1.6, samsung 667mhz, 256mb ram, 1gb inbuilt, up to 32gb microSD (8gb Included)..
Looks like a nice little device, and its only $150! (£102)

And the display really rocks... I have an OLPC, which has a similiar display. I wish I could get that screen for my thinkpad.

Installing AW on a HP Veer

I got a Veer laying around doing nothing, but since its pretty small I was thinking about installing AW on it. There were a couple android builds for it an it ran wheel but the small screen made it a pain to use. The problem here is getting AW to work on it.

It has a snapdragon S2 MSM7230 and 512MB of RAM which is not that far from the Gwatch, maybe I could use a build from that one?. Problem could be the screen which is 320 x 400 pixels, while all the other AW watches have a 1:1 ratio with resolutions of 280x280 or 320x320.
I don't expect the qwerty keyboard to work but I would like the mic and speaker so I can write messages and stuff. I think it had NFC but I don't know if that and cameras are supported by AW yet.
Anyone got a Veer too? you can pick one for next to nothing.

I'd be interested on Android Wear on the HP Veer too!
I love my veer from the first sight and If there would be a whatsapp messenger, I would use it forever.
So please, let it happen!!!
http://forums.webosnation.com/hp-veer/328606-android-veer-rooted-play-store-etc.html
It appears work has been done to put Android on the Veer. Now, the real question is, how recent a build can we load? 4.4 full only asked for 512MB of RAM, apparently, so the possibility of running Wear is more than likely, given even now, most of the popular Wear watches still use 512 (with only the ones with a mobile radio asking for 768MB).
This is also noting some existing ROMs. There was Quattrimus CyanogenMod 9 which basically got ICS to work on a variety of low-end LG devices, with only 256MB of RAM. So if you can get a source of AW and just work with some of the drivers on the Veer, it should be possible to patch things up and get most everything working.
A few curiosities though...
Does AW require Bluetooth 4.0 LE? Would it be able to use the wi-fi for Cloud Sync? Would AW be able to run low energy enough for the Veer? Is the chipset efficient enough to do it?

Phone maker gone Smartwatch maker No.1 have updated the processor on the No. S3 smartwatch to a Mediatek MT2502 processor. The switch in chipset has been made to enhance performance of the wearable while also offering better support to both iOS and Android smartphones.
The S3, like other Chinese watches, does not use Android Wear but a simple OS running on a Mediatek chipset to bring notifications and sports monitoring to your wrist. What is unlike other wearables though is the inclusion of a SIM card slot for native calls and room for an SD card so you can save files, music etc.
No.1 will release the S3 later this month for only $65, but if you wanted to get one for Free you can take a look at the giveaway the company are currently holding on their official website.
S3/T3
Has anyone brought the S3/T3? I've been looking for a smartwatch with HR for a while and i like the look of this one.
Nice watch, great deal for $60 USD

I received my No. 1 S3 last week and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The build is better than I had read (ex. I was told it was plastic, whereas it is metal) and there are many features preinstalled on the watch. The only criticism I have so far is that the watch will pair with your smartphone, but if you want to use its standalone calling features and you want to pair it with a Bluetooth headset (to avoid the **** Tracey talking to a watch feeling), this does not work; it pairs but the sound still comes through the watch.
As for aesthetics, my wife who thinks people who wear smartwatches all look like nerds, actually thinks this watch looks nice and is willing to be seen in public with me.

The YotaPhone 3 is coming later this year!

The YotaPhone 3 is coming later this year
But there are very few details so far
by Micah [email protected] Jun 16, 2017, 3:59pm EDT
https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/6/16/15821268/yotaphone-3-price-release-date
The YotaPhone 3 has apparently been announced at a conference in Northern China. The successor to the YotaPhone 2, which made some waves when it came with an E Ink display on its back, will also feature a rear E Ink display, with an AMOLED screen on the front.
The dual-screen smartphone will come in 64GB and 128GB versions for $350 and $450, respectively, and will be available in Russia and China this fall. Other than that, Yota Devices hasn’t said much about the device. They did release this very vague blacked-out photo back in April, however:
Whether the YotaPhone 3 will make its way to the US is another question. Yota Devices has a poor track record with making its devices available in the States — it killed the release of the YotaPhone 2 after a launching a crowdfunding campaign to bring it to the US.
Hopefully things will change this time around, and there will be a US version of the YotaPhone 3. Yota Devices is expected to announce more details around the smartphone later this summer.
I wonder if it will be 5.5 inch like most phones these days. I wouldn't mind that paired with a 5 inch e-ink display

Specs released!
https://www.engadget.com/2017/06/18/yotaphone-3-yota3-specs-snapdragon-625/
You almost guessed it! 5.5 AMOLED and 5.2 EPD!
the Snapdragon 625 will make the Yota 3 look obsolete by the time it launches this fall
WTF, no 6 gorillion core trans-quantum bio 88 dimension CPU? ARETHEYSERIOUS!!!!!??
If they're prioritising affordability and availability over luxury, it might just make a difference to the trivial business they made with Yotaphone 1 and 2 considering the brand value struggled to garner trust on a global scenario, price should be a critical measure to tantalise potential market spheres.

This. Snapdragon 625 is the chip in my Moto Z Play. I have never ever encountered any problems whatsoever and the battery lifetime is insane. I am actually really happy to hear they are using something with a bit less energy hunger than most new phones.
Reveal blacked out yota3 image
I've not seen anyone try adjusting the light levels of the blacked-out Yota3 photo, so here's my attempt to reveal something: https://pasteboard.co/GFM7044.jpg

Well, they posted first 3 official images of YOTA 3, design is really similar to Yota 1, it will be bigger but...idk Yota 2 still looks beautiful

It would seem that the Yota 3 does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack... No deal.

Oppo Find X5 Pro Specs Roundup: Here's What an Ultra Flagship Looks Like

The specs that caught my attention when I saw the new #oppoFindX5Pro for the first time. So, I designed some graphic works exclusively for @OPPO Ambassador Team ft the all new #OPPOFindx5series. I'll be sharing my thoughts one by one in detail very soon. So, Stay Tuned with the thread..!

A Pro Grade Camera Setup:
Oppo X5 Pro features a Triple Camera setup on its back, a 50 MP Wide angle lens with f/1.7 aperture, a 50 MP Ultra-wide lens and also a 13 MP Telephoto lens. The 50 MP Wide angle lens also acts as a main shooter for taking amazing pictures.
The setup is also equipped with an impressive set of features like Hassleblad color calibration, 5-axis OIS and a dedicated NPU chip called MariSillicon X. Therefore, the hashtag (#Bringthelight) is quite apt for the device because it has certainly got what it takes to #Savethenight.
The Yin-Yang Color Schemes
There's a reason why white and black are considered the classics. When it comes to the looks, white and black won't go wrong any time. OPPO X5 Pro comes with these two impressive color schemes Ceramic Black and White. They look like Yin and Yang. The two complementary principles of Chinese philosophy. Both of these colors compliments each other and also compliments the looks and feel of the device.
Features Not One but Two Power Houses
Having a flagship processor seems like old school to me after seeing this phone. This phone has got not one but two flagship grade chipset units powering it. Oppo has recently unveiled Find X50 Pro, the next-gen smartphone range in their X-Series lineup. The model was equipped with the highest possible hardware specs right now. It has got the all-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with the most powerful Adreno 730 GPU working under its good. Apart from carrying the most powerful CPU and GPU combos, this smartphones also got a new and improved NPU working under their hood. Oppo is calling it as MariSillicon X. To know more about it. You can check out this post.
