[Q] Flash modem affect warranty? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there
My galaxy s5 got into water yesterday so I checked the back of the phone and saw the litmus paper became red, then I thought that now I can finally root my phone without concerning lol ), then I flashed Modem: XXU1ANI1 and intend to flash rom later. But then I told my friend who works at Samsung Services and he checked my phone and said that it has no problem so it is still under warranty. So I want to ask you guys that whether I flashed the modem XXU1ANI1 affect my warranty or later if I can update stock firmware via OTA. Can I flash back to the latest stock modem XXU1ANG3 for G900H Vietnam without tripping knox? or if it has any problem?
Please help me , I really appreciate any help you guys can provide.

Yes, you can flash back to your stock modem without tripping Knox (if it has not been tripped).
To check whether your Knox was tripped or not, you can use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app and look for the Knox Warranty Void status (under GENERAL INFO section).

Thank you so much

[Q] Is there a way to root MJ7 without breaking Knox ?

Hi !
I made a mistake... I flashed my brand new Note 3 with the latest unbranded firmware from sammobile (N9005XXUDMJ7) with Odin. Flashing was successful and everything works fine. But I made it before I even read something about rooting that phone... Now I know that MJ7 is very hard to root without breaking Knox Is there a possibility to reverse it back to MJ3 ? Or maybe there is a way to root with flag 0x0 ?
If there is no way to do this I must wait until somone much smarter than me find the way...

[Q] De-brand i9505 4.2.2 using official 4.3 without tripping Knox?

I've a i9505, unfortunately it's branded (but no locked) in T-Mobile. I'd love to install 4.3 on it, but T-Mobile hasn't released it, so it's unavailable in Kies.
I would like to know if it's possible to use official (non-branded) firmware and _not_ to trip Knox (as it voids warranty in Poland). I've went through most of Knox-related threads, but I fail to see clear indication of 1) if it's possible 2) how to do that.
Also, does anyone knows if, after de-branding the phone, I'll be able to upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4 (for example) without tripping Knox?
Any comments will be appreciated.
Bump, anyone?

1. If u still having Knox 0x0 and android 4.2.2 only u have to root ur phone and delete the apps branded.
2. If u dont have updates in Kies is better. Don't void ur warranty and enjoy with ur 4.2.2 firmware.
OK, my point is to get Android 4.3 and not trip Knox - T-Mobile hasn't released 4.3 yet, and god knows when they do that.
Alternative question: is there a way to install official 4.3 without installing Knox bootloader?
i'v been looking around for the same thing, but i dont think thats possible without installing a custom made ROM
OK, let's try to put it another way: given that I have 4.2.2, do I risk losing warranty when I install CWM and some de-KNOXed 4.3 using Odin? Or Triangle Away will just work, and I'll be able to flash default software in case I need to service the phone?

My LAST Question to all please respond!!!

I have a SM-N900 which I have flashed with many custom roms but while flashing the latest stock via odin I lost my IMEI and Baseband as unknown. I have exhausted all possible options talking to many senior members but to no avail. so it needs to go to Samsung service.
Now I live in India and the phone is form Dubai .
so I have flashed stock and my current status is
Binary fficial
System official
Knox warranty bit 0
csc xsg
now is there a way Samsung may find out that the device has been tampered. there is no physical damage to the phone.
Technically No, but I will suggest u to prey to God, many people send there device for repair with 0x0 & returned by Samsung without repaire with 0x1

Take a photo just before you hand it in to Samsung - the download mode.
If you come out with a KNOX 0x1, show them the photo and request for a full exchange.
This happened to me the other week. What stock? I managed to get everything back with the latest Singapore XSP.
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk
will ask for an acknowlegment letter

since I don't stay in Dubai I will ask my friend to get a letter of acklowgment stating the binary is official, system is official and KNOX warranty bit is valid. hence warranty is valid at the time of giving the device to Samsung what say

Unbrand Galaxy S5 without tripping Knox

Hello everyone! I've bought a Galaxy S5 some days ago(SM-G900F) but it came with this firmware: KOT49H.G900FFXXU1ANE2,and it is branded by TIM Carrier. Now my question is,I want to un-brand it and install stock OS so I have updates earlier, but I am scared that I could trip KNOX Counter and lose warranty. Anyone has a procedure to do this? Also, will I lose warranty? Thanks in advance, and sorry if this may not be the right section.

There is always a risk when playing around with the firmware no matter the phone make, model and carrier/network. For what it's worth, I got a second hand branded S5 (SM-G900F) and flashed the unbranded UK (BTU) firmware on it after unlocking it using Odin. Knox still intact on mine as far as I can tell, reading "0x0". You might need to reset it a few times and maybe clear DALVIK/ART cache a few times to get the right CSC to appear on the phone and get OTA updates. But again in my experience everything is still working after debranding.

Just download the latest stock firmware United Kingdom / Europe (BTU) from Sammobile,, download Odin then use Odin to flash the BTU firmware, Factory Reset the phone after flashing to set the correct CSC and clear the Caches, flashing a stock rom won't trip KNOX. Flashing Custom roms,Custom Recovery, kernels etc will, staying stock wont.

Back to stock ROM

So I flashed the SuperStock ROM the other day. To get Samsung Pay working.. can I just flash a stock TMobile firmware (i have a tmo model) via ODIN and restore the phone back to stock ? I understand Knox will still be tripped once I flashed it. Will that prevent Samsung Pay to work ? Anybody do this before ? lol

Hi there! Nice to see you around... used your ROMs years ago on my HD2!
Well, regarding knox, as far as I could read so far, there is no way around it, except a dev has a something hidden and didn´t tell the community yet. Once tripped, there is no way back and samsung pay won´t work, unfortunately. I already tested by "unrooting" and flashing a stock rom through odin. It will state that the rom is official but KNOX = 1.
