LG D280N Restore - Optimus L3, L5, L7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all mates, i bought this cell the last week, i've turned it root and i'd made some customisations.
I've a lot of years modificating phones, samsung, huawei, sonyericsson, and any of these as difficult as this, a cheapest LG xD
so the question is my phone it has running very slowly and i've decided to hard reset it.
So far all normal, but before hard reset my phone within customisation time this week i've deleted some apk's like keyboard, lgsetup, lg"utilities"...
So now after hard reset it the phone reboots normally, loads android and not passes of LGSetup screen, can't swipe tasbar or do anithing because it misses a lot of stock LG apk's.
I've usb connected lg with my pc and i've runned LGMobile Support Tool, so it tolds me that my phone is up to date and any fix to applicate in Update error repair.
Needless to mention that my pc sees it as an MTP device in device administrator but it in my pc it doesn't appears it, needles to mention too that in device administrator it doesn't mount any mtp volume.
any idea to restore the phone? i doesn't want to get back to blackberry :crying::crying:
thanks in advice

I can't finde it in google, not for L65 D280n :S

Its there.. maybe as a nother build number.
Can you maybe send a picture of your phone?
Heres the link where you can download the frameware for your phone
http://httpbbs.gaodi.net/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=668068&mobile=2
Now download the original phone drivers for your phone, get them from the offocial LG web page.
Download the latest version of kdz.
On your pc right click my computer, softvare advanced and under modem disable lgmobilemodem, restart your pc, then extract the kdz zip to a folder on your desktop.
Open the extracted folder. Make sure you install msxml.msi file within the folder.
Open windows enabler and run it.
Run kdz, set to DIAG, remove you battery, pres and hold the buttons that put your phone in to download mode and conect your phone via usb to your pc, your phone will enter download mode. Place the frameware file you downloaded from the link i gave you on to kdz.
And run it.
Now im not sure this will work and you may be risking a hard brick on your device but its the only thing i can think of.

[Q] my vibrant is stuck on the samsung vibrant screen.

downloaded the ota update but now my phone is stuck on the samsung vibrant screen but i can hear the tmoblie jingle. my phone is rooted and my comp doesnt recognize my phone can anyone help???
Go to the bible under development section . You will need to use odin to get your phone back up and running . All file are posted there . You need the drivers for your computer to recognize the phone .
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I downloaded all the files so how do i install the drivers on to my comp?
There should be an exe file select the correct ones for your computer . If you have a 64 bit os use the x64 , if you have a 32 bit os use the x86 . Then run the correct exe file . It will install the drivers .
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
okay so i install the driver and started odin, stopped at <ID:0/005> cache.rfs removed the phone, removed the battery, went into dl mode, plug the phone back in to reflash it but odin wont let me push the start button. been reading other post saying that i had to delete s1_odin_20100512.pit file but where do i find that file?
The pit file isnt need unless you want to erase your data . If want to use it it can be found in the development section . In the bible directory then click mirror .
Does com4 ever appear in odin? Also try running odin as administrator .
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Mine did that, but only after I tried to do a clockwork recovery to go back to before I did the JI6 update via Odin. It didn't work, so I flashed back to stock, rooted, installed ROM manager and then did my clockwork recovery. Man I love both of those apps.

Girlfriends phone did the samething.
Download the files in this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798125
Open ODIN select PDA and select the .tar file. PRESS START!
It will go though the process and install it.
Her phone was back online with the new update, and did not lose any data.
Might need the samsung drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
I already had them installed, so I'm not sure if they are required or not.

follow directions from this thread, very easy to fix this, had the same thing.
I have talked to many people that had issues applying the OTA update. Here are the steps to get your phone back to stock and apply the update.
As always, I'm not responsible for anything. yadda yadda.
First, download multiupload.com/NMPX3KMWRS
This contains Odin, the Samsung Drivers, stock odin rom, updated odin rom, pit file.
If you don't want to lose your settings, etc. you can skip to the second part. If your phone still doesn't work than start from the top.
-PART 1-
Step 1.) Make sure you have the appropriate drivers installed for your phone. If you are on 64bit then choose 64, if you are on 32 choose 32. You may already have the drivers installed and it will tell you after you try to install them.
Step 2.) Power your phone off
Step 3.) Open Odin.exe and plug a usb cable to your computer that will connect to your phone (do not plug it in to the phone yet, just the computer)
Step 4.) Hold down both volume buttons at the same time and while holding them down plug the usb into your phone. You should see a COM message show up in Odin.
Step 5.) To ensure your phone is back to stock, in odin you will want to check the repartition button. ONLY CHECK IT WHEN YOU ARE FLASHING BACK TO STOCK. Leave the other check boxes the way they are.
Step 6.) Click the PIT button and select the 512.pit file
Step 7.) Click the PDA button and select Original.tar and then click Start
It should go through a bunch of steps and then your phone will reboot. Below are the steps to update it to the latest release.
Close Odin and power your phone off.
-PART 2-
Step 1.) Open Odin.exe and plug a usb cable to your computer that will connect to your phone (do not plug it in to the phone yet, just the computer)
Step 2.) Hold down both volume buttons at the same time and while holding them down plug the usb into your phone. You should see a COM message show up in Odin.
Step 3.) Leave all check boxes the way they are. Do NOT check the repartition box.
Step 4.) Click the PIT button and select the 512.pit file
Step 5.) Click the PDA button and select T959UVJI6.tar and then click Start
It will go through a bunch of steps and then your phone will reboot. Congrats, you are on the latest update!

Well yeah I want it fixed right away. I started downloading as soon I saw the instructions above and I'm still waiting. It's taking FOREVER. Lurking in the back of my mind is the fact that there are probably two or three guys standing around talking about baseball in the T-Mobile shop two blocks away.
it worked!! finally! the reason it didnt work b4 was becuz i was using odin v1.0 instead of odin v1.3. thanks guys for the help
What can I used to extract the .zip files? For some reason my program is telling me it can't open the file as an archive... I hate this feeling of having a broken phone.

Usb brick! Lg l3 optimus e400

Hello guys! I need some help
I was flashing a stock firmware with kdz updater on my LG E400, following all instructions
Flashing goes through all the way and at the end i get:
Upgrade
error WParam: 100, LParam: 6
Phone boots and all but when i fix in my USB cable i don't see the icon in the status bar hence can't send files from computer or do Adb commands
I guess its USB bricked
Looked for solutions all over but they don't seem device specific and i fear bricking my phone for good
Any help is much appreciated!

have you try to do a hard reset after kdz flashing?
Code:
in off position, press n hold home + vol down + power buttons together. be sure you press that power button at the last one...
will be wipe your data, cache and internal sd partitions by doing this. if you have any important files in int-sd, then back it up first ( move it to ext-sd )
let see if it work or not.....
Cool. I'd done a factory reset and didn't fix it, let me the hard reset and see what comes out of it

let's hope that'd software problem. you just install any custom roms you like, and your problem should be fixed. but if it's not, then you have to send it to service center for fix that hardware....
good luck
OK. Thanks

finally managed to fix it. Problem was with the firmware I was installing. I chose a firmware from another country of origin with a version that wasn't released for my phone's country. got the right kdz for my country and flashed it successfully fixing the brick.
I even managed to root it this time round! (the whole reason I flashed a different firmware in thw first place was because of failure to root)
Everything is good now. thanks to all that replied

if u did what I did and got USB brick, its from flashing the wrong kdz file. there's an app for finding the right kdz file by giving it just your serial number of the phone. it's what I used cause I wasn't sure of the right country of origin of my phone. try using that app, and flash the kdz like before. and make sure its a COMPLETE download. watch it all the way. try that
Using advice from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34700586&postcount=4 you can determine which firmware version to use based on your phone IMEI.

There could be many reasons why it didn't work. Just have to be patient and see if you had missed any steps. Have you tried using a different computer? You have the right drivers installed for your carrier? Got into Download Mode with no problems? You have the stock rom and the correct dll files? Seems like you know what you're doing so I suggest try it on a different computer and remember to reboot your system after making any changes/installations of programs or drivers.
I was in a similar situation and panicked and did rush through some steps which luckily I calmed down long enough to realize my mistakes and got a successful flash. Good luck on getting your phone running stock again or able to exchange for a new one.
In the spring.zip file there is the dll file and the tot file make sure you put both file and not use the att dll file. If you got the right one there is others thread that shows how to vome out of boot loop with out having to go back.

Issues when trying to manually update to KK (D801)

I Have tried to use the 2 methods that where provided and that worked for pretty much everyone else around me except me
Prior to getting both the PC Suite and Support Tool I got all the drivers , piece of cake.
Now lets start with the PC Suite which is very annoying , I hook up my phone to PC without a issue im connected and all and I want to updrade my software so i thought to myself wow so easy but as it turns out the pc suite claims i already have the latest the D801g but the newest is D801a ... PC SUITE BEING A LIERRR
I made a video of the problem as well which has got a lot of views in 2 days
Next up the Support Tool... oh boi can this get any worse than the PC Suite .. yes it can
Just like PC Suite connecting is not a problem .. so next step was to upgrade recovery which everyone else is doing and got them 4.4.2 but when i do mines it gets stuck on the second step and at either 0:13 or 0:14 seconds .. I let it sit there for a whole hour earlier but nothing would happen... I have also tried putting the phone in download mode but that would not fix the problem.. so yeah.
If anyone could help .. would be such appreciated and i would be very amaze.
I installed the upgrade today via download mode and flash tool....check out the thread about changing back to stock...in the flash tool where u select the old kdz...just select the newer kk kdz

[Q] Not able to connect to Odin V3.07 or Sam kies

Hi guys,
I'm new to this also did alot of reading before I post this thread.
I've a a Samsung GT-I9500 Tried connecting it with Odin or Sam kies they are not able to connect to device. Also noticed that my pc in device manager at portable devices it recognize it and give that it's a GT-I9500.
I wanted to root the device but was not able with Odin (reason that it does not connect) so I tried motochopper which worked for me and also detected the phone. Forgot to say I've installed USB driver for samsung galaxy s4 before trying to connect with odin also with Sam kies.\
After rooted with motochopper was able to dwnl titanium back up and root but now I'm stock at the part of flashing.
Now I want to flash my rom to get new firmware but I'm not able cause the Odin does not detect device. Also when I turn off phone to boot in download mode by pressing vol dwon , home button and power button. It tells me factory mode then a bunch of (guess) chinese menu option.
Because of this went to search if my device was original or fake and still not sure tried many things and apps which tells me that it original.
My whole question is what should I look at to let Odin connect with device.
Charles
Its a clone for sure. Go to Menu - Settings - More - About device and attach the screenshot for confirm it
Joku think you are right did some more reading and installed CPU z and got in system hardware mt6589 which suppose is the clone s4. Also attached screenshot about.
