Which is located at the root of the computer.
4. Run the lg tool
5. hit manual and add you files where they belong
6. hit the yellow arrow and all Done !!!
Drivers initialization
1. Put the phone into download mode. (Turn off device PRESS VOL UP while plugging in the micro usb cable. If this doesn't work, try holding both volume keys instead)
2. Let the phone initialize and install the drivers. Once done, in Device manager, you should see the LG phone listed under COM ports (something along these lines).
3. Find that LG entry in Device Manager, click on Properties, Advanced and then change the COM port to COM41 and close/save.
4. Unplug your phone! Important step.
LGFlashTools
Note: you need Megalock DLL file to open LGFlashTools
Flashing
5. There is a yellow arrow on the top left. Click on it to initialize the process. It will reboot and that's it .
6. Put the phone in download mode again, and plug it into the USB port. LG FLash Tools should start flashing it automatically. When it's done, it'll automatically reboot into your stock AT&T rom and all of your data and internal sdcard files are gone.

There could be many reasons why it didn't work. Just have to be patient and see if you had missed any steps. Have you tried using a different computer? You have the right drivers installed for your carrier? Got into Download Mode with no problems? You have the stock rom and the correct dll files? Seems like you know what you're doing so I suggest try it on a different computer and remember to reboot your system after making any changes/installations of programs or drivers.
I was in a similar situation and panicked and did rush through some steps which luckily I calmed down long enough to realize my mistakes and got a successful flash. Good luck on getting your phone running stock again or able to exchange for a new one.

In the spring.zip file there is the dll file and the tot file make sure you put both file and not use the att dll file. If you got the right one there is others thread that shows how to vome out of boot loop with out having to go back.

Has anyone found a solution to this error? I have this problem on my At&T LGD800 as well. Would have thought there'd be a way to force it to install and ignore errors.

[Q] G2 d800 with d802 rom/firmware bad flash

I bought a broken AT&T G2 that the buyer did a bad flash or something with. Doing some playing around on the phone I see that the phone is d800/ AT&T G2, with what to appears to be a d802 firmware in it. Phone turns on and boots up to main screen but touch screen doesn't respond well and it reboots after maybe 1 min or two.
I have tried lg flash tool but get failed because it reads the phone as d802 and the dll/tot file are for the d800 and doesn't give me an option to proceed. Also tried LGMLauncher but doesn't download the software, gets stuck at 11%.
Any other help will be appreciated, if not I'll resell this phone.

Going give this a try again. But the issue is if my pc has enough time to sync with the phone before the phone reboots.
I've tried something along those lines but to no avail. My phone doesn't show up on my computer in its current status. How can I get map to recognize my phone I have the drives installed and lg upgrade tool can see it so I know it can kinda see it. When I ran Adb devices nothing comes up on the ASB command prompt

don't think that's going to work for my situation but I'll give it a try in a bit. So I would get a d800 rom and load d802 .dll? I think once the program sees the .dll file and the firmware, it will fail.

if you can stay longger in fastboot mode
try flash VZ laf.img
fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash laf laf.img
here how to and tool for fastboot

i think this partition also the responsible for phone type ex D802 or VZ980 where LGFlashTools use it to detect phone type
laf partition will bring download mode to you
Hahaha tried this one to and the one it links me too. My phone isn't reconized my my computer so doing things throught the PCs CMD is out of the question for me and so is pushing the boot .img via ADB since my phone wasn't In debugging mode when I bricked it. But again thanks man. I think I've exhausted most of the conventional fix it threads on this since I've been looking through everything since Sunday

stuck....ls980 thinks it is the d800

my ls980 thinks it is the d800 and I can't seem to flash it back to the ls980.
I flashed a custom ROM thru twrp and I got an error. I tried restoring the backup and the system partition would not mount. after poking around for quite some time I tried restoring the phone in download mode. apparently the computer thought it was the d800 and flashed the system for that phone. when it restarted I saw the at&t boot screen and when it started up it was not working correctly.
I put it back in download mode and tried flashing the phone again. the computer was sure it was the d800. then I tried flashing manually using the DLL intended to convert this and the tot file for the ls980. I get the error saying I can't convert from the d800 to the ls980.
I then tried flashing thru adb from both windows and linux. both say they cannot find the phone regardless how I try connecting.
since I flashed the factory files the phone will not start in recovery mode I have no clue why.
so now I have a phone that:
will not flash the ls980 tot file,
will not connect to adb,
and will not boot into recovery.
now what?

Dang dude. Harsh. I almost ended up in this same situation after downloading files for the wrong device and noticed literally at the last second and was able to pull the plug, literally, and save my device.
I've been looking for ways to fix it in case it happens again and I don't catch it in time, so if I find the answer I'll let you know. There has to be a way to trick the computer into thinking it's a LS980 like it's supposed to be the same way it thought the phone was a d800.

I was told that there was a DLL file that could be used when flashing it to trick it into thinking it's the ls980 but all I get is an error message I forget exactly what the message says but something to the extent that I don't have the right files for the phone that I have.

woops im a little slow here. what is LGNPST ? I solved the issue by manually editing the build.prop file and that tells the lg mobile support tool that it is a different phone. that was a whole different complicated story of its own but it worked.
sorry I didnt see your comment until now.
def sounds like you used the wrong dll or just the stock lg dll which works with some phones, but others need their specific dll to match the tot and such to make a proper bootloader flash over i believe.

[Q] Soft Brick help me please!!!

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING FOR BETTER UNDERSTANDING
Hey fellow LG Owner(s) I am writing this asking for some help. I know that majority of LG Phones use the same software and flashing tools regarding taking your phone back to stock. I currently own an LG G Flex (LS995 Sprint Variant) and I managed to soft brick my phone. I have posted this same message over at the LG G Flex Threads but so far I have gotten no one to provide me some sort of solution on how to un-brick or factory reset my phone.
The status of my phone before it got bricked was it had Root (IOROOT method), Busy-Box (by Jrummy), Build.Prop was edited to display as a Nexus 5, and boot-loader locked along with no custom recovery. If you’re wondering why my boot-loader was locked and why there wasn’t any type of custom recovery was due to the sad fact that Developers are having a hard time on cracking it.
Now to explain on how I soft bricked my phone. I was changing my font style by using a tool called ROM Toolbox (by Jrummy). I managed to change my font once and I attempted to change it a second time, since I was looking for something that displayed it wider and bolder. So as I applied install on the new font I got an automatic reboot.
The reboot consisted of the normal LG Logo display, followed by a black screen and staying as a black screen. On the upper left of my phone the notification indicator was flashing multiple colors (red, white, blue etc). This is the current state of my phone, black screen with a multicolor notification.
My attempts to fix:
- Simple reboot of the phone ((fail))
- Let the phones battery drain out then charge for a few minutes and restart ((fail))
- Managed to get into STOCK recovery and perform clean partition ((fail)
- Managed to get into STOCK recovery and apply factory reset ((fail))
- I got into some weird mode which also gave me the option to apply factory reset ((fail))
- I followed this tutorial (LG Flash Tool) on how to revert back to stock (by hyelton) ((fail))
Link to tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644083
The tutorial by hyelton was almost successful to reverting back to stock firmware until I got to the last step (Number 6). The error that occurred by using the LG Flash Tool was when the tool attempted to flash the stock firmware it gave me a Download FAIL!! “Device Model is different“ notification (Images below). I did this tutorial at least seven times and I got no luck. Every single time that I attempted to do this I kept getting the same notification. I have now ran out if ideas on what to do.
My theory, I believe that by changing my build prop to display as a nexus 5 is the reason why I keep getting this fail notification. On the phone it-self when I put it into download mode it even displays as a Nexus 5 (Images below).
I was wondering since it’s possible to get into STOCK RECOVERY, I saw that it had an option for “ADB SIDELOAD” is it possible to push something thru ADB??? Any type of help is greatly appreciated and thanked. Please do not get upset that you see this in multiple LG threads, I am just trying to find a solution to UNBRICK this very expensive phone that I bought and I cannot afford to just use it as a paper weight. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS
Here is a Link to all my files regarding STOCK tot, dll,lg flash tools, aboot, buildprop, lg usb drivers and adb drivers that are for my phone

i hope these files help anyone that are attempting to help me put my phone back to stock
Alright yall, I am almost official screwed. I purchased this phone about a month ago from Best Buy and they stated that I am out of there 15 day window so I cannot exchange or replace for the same phone. I then went to Sprint on whom I have phone insurance for and they stated that they cannot do anything and that I have to go to one of their Sprint repair stores. I went to one of the repair stores and the gentlemen that assisted me plugged my phone to his computer and immediately knew that my phone was rooted. So from there I played the dumb blonde card acting like I don’t know what he’s talking about and from there he directed me to call LG and see what they can do. So now the current status is I filed a repair request and now I am awaiting a reply from LG. Does anyone have any suggestion???
**SOLUTION** hey yall i got the solution to my problem and it was simply by downloading this universal custom .dll from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2663369
and i managed to flash back to stock recovery using this guide. instead using the dll on the the guide i used the custom one.

how remember that my bootloader is still locked and this model does not have a custom recovery. but i am able to access the stock recovery with an option to ADB SIDELOAD. I got word from a DEV stating that:
"Factory recovery won't let you adb sideload a package without a LG verified updater script so it won't work." (by XDA justinswidebody)
but if he is incorrect i wouldn't mind attempting trial and error. what do you think???

what's the version of your flash tool
edit: after some reading to flash nexus tots you need lg flash tool 1.8
re-edit: I believe that the dll needs to be modified so that it accepts the device as a nexus 5 but once it's done flashing it needs to make the device and ls995 again, but for now it's 1am and I need to be up early later so I'll work on something later, also just some extra information on ther stuff: as for flashing the build prop if you can manage to make it into a flashable update.zip(which also places it in corresponding directory) which is also signed and you can sideload it should flash or just give an error, and another thing that could work with above method is flashing a corrupted kernel which will throw your phone into fastboot mode and with correct files and commands you can repartition the entire device to stock(this one is very dangerous/risky would not recommend it)

[Q] b2cappsetup wont install

im at my wits end!I bricked my phone. im trying to restore to stock using these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476, but I cant get the GD lgmobile support tool to install! ive tried disabling my firewall. any ideas?? also I have a vs980. which of the following KDZ files do I use: VS98010B_13.KDZ, VS98011A_01.KDZ, VS98012B_00.KDZ, or VS98024A_11.KDZ ? anyone know of a cheap, but reputable service for unbricking phones? thanks.

so I got lg support tool to install, but now it doesn't recognize my phone as being plugged in. in the directions it appears that you have to enable usb debugging, but I cant do that cause my phone wont boot past TWRP recovery.i already wiped everything on the phone. is there a way to flash to stock from twrp?
here is a screen shot. my model isn't listed in the available options for a driver.

Put your phone in download mode
Navigate to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
open hosts in notepad++ or whatever..
maybe you'll notice the lines 127.0.0.1 lg..blabla.., just delete them or put # in front of them (#127.0.0.1 lg.blablabla..)
This is in case you tried the automatic offline kdz installer and the vbs couldn't remove the lines itself.

[Q] Possible epic brick...read inside for details!

So, I fudged up here. I installed a BUMPed KK bootloader thinking my kernel and recovery were BUMPed. Was using Render Kernel, turns out the Lollipop version is BUMPed, not KK. Good job, me! Got secure boot error loop and I still had TWRP, so I flashed the JB baseband. No boot. Tried to restore a backup I had (Mahdi + Render). No boot. Well, might as well use LG Flash Tools to go back to stock. Like I haven't done it 80 times before....Failed! Failed! Failed! . . . Failed! (I can't remember how many times I've tried).
I've tried every which way and LG Flash Tool gives me this:
PID: NULL
IMEI: NULL
Model :
DLL : D800
BIN : LGD800AT-01-V10o-310-410-OCT-19-2013+0.tot
SWV :
SWOV :
Model Information Check FAIL!
00000000
So, am I royally screwed?
So you're stuck with black screen/frozen LG logo?
This guide should help.
I did try that guide, and couldn't get my phone to show up in any distro I tried (Ubuntu, Puppy, something else? I think?). I'm going the buy a working one, sell the borked one on eBay route. Oh well, can't win em all.

It says model information check failed.
Did you maybe flashed another rom before or what because the LG Flash tool first checks as a safety measure or your phone is really D800, but you might have a mod or yeah I don't know what you all did but your phone Might is now D803 or some other number I don't know. But what you can do is edit the Dll with some hexeditor as far as I remember to D801, D803 etc Till flashing works.
So just edit the D800 DLL to think that it must check for another device model number which your rom has which you used last? And you should be fine with your issue and you can continue flash it to stock normally. I hope it's not too late for you yet cause it will spare you some bucks.

Or just try to find the good dll file, or a DLL file without checking phone model is maybe the best. I hope you can still fix your problem. Goodluck mate,

I LOVE YOU
I hex edited the DLL and TOT files. Turns out the TOT is what I needed to edit, not the DLL, as I could use the "universal" DLL. I started seeing the firmware being updated and said "O M G." My brain couldn't even comprehend it. :highfive:
