Hey guys, apparently I didn't know what I was doing and somehow managed to brick my phone. It is stuck at the Samsung Custom screen. :/
I was installing safestrap, and went to wipe the system after rebooting, but I think it hung and I rebooted it, now it goes no further. Anyhow is there a way to get back into recovery mode? I want to keep Android 4.3 installed on it. It was on rooted stock 4.3
Oh, and it was on the MK2 build. I'm looking for advise to somehow revive it via download mode, as thats the only thing that works.
Any help would be good.
Again it's an AT&T SGS4 MK2 Build. i337
Wrong forum. This is for the galaxy s5
Please disregard this post. I managed to claw my way out of a problem created by me. I fixed the error of my n00b ways and learned many a good lesson in the process.

Hi everyone,
Ill apologize in advance, i am a complete noob, and this is my first venture into rooting and such. As a result I dont know what I am doing and now my phone is stuck in boot. I was trying to perform the wifi hotspot mod on my MDL rooted GS4 using the root file manager method. Obviously I messed something up because when i transferred the files, the phone immediately rebooted itself and got stuck booting on the sprint screen. I am looking for some help on how to get my phone working again. I am thinking I will need to flash the stock rom onto the device and start from scratch. Is this correct? I am totally lost and I know I should search to figure it out but I need to get my phone up and working again.
Thanks for the help.

You can flash any version of the one-clicks, including the "No data" ones for this.
Once the ROM mods are cleaned out it should boot again.
I still havent flashed a rom yet. So I assume I would use odin to flash? Where would I find these "one-clicks"? What does the "no data" version mean? Is 3.07 the most recent version of odin? Just want to make sure I have all the settings right.
Again, thanks so much for the help.
I had this issue yesterday you need to flash stock mdc then apply the update then root using the cf auto root method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291827

Got it working! Thanks guys for helping and dealing with my ignorance. I think I'm slowly figuring this stuff out. It was just stressful as it took about 6 hours to download the stock firmware.
Hi guys long time lurker, first time poster.
Here's the story:
Was running CM 10.2 on my Galaxy S4 AT&T. Everything ran great etc. I decided to flash a new kernel. Upon flashing the kernel I received an error (I must have not done such great research before I did this) but figured nothing had changed since the flash did not go successfully. I proceeded to reboot my phone and lo and behold I'm stuck with a black screen and a constant vibration as if the phone is going to boot up but it doesn't. I immediately went to Odin as I have done when things go awry. After flashing stock firmware Odin says that everything went successful and my phone reboots. However it does not reboot to any screen (no splash screen, no Samsung logo absolutely nothing) just constant vibration and I'm back to square one I cannot boot into recovery I have tried the button combo many, many times but the phone just keeps on fake vibrate booting. The only screen I can get to is the download menu. The things I have tried so far:
1. Flashing back to stock firmware with Odin.
2. Flashing stock kernel by itself with Odin.
3. Tried to flash a custom recovery but since my phone is no longer rooted Odin was giving me a failed message.
4. Tried flashing stock recovery by itself with Odin.
5. Tried Kies but no success either.
I assume no files from a custom ROM will flash successfully as my phone is not rooted. So I guess my question here is am I bricked forever? Odin recognizes my phone and I have read that there is some hope if this happens but I have come to many dead ends searching for a solution to this problem. Have I exhausted my resources on this one or are there a few more things to try? If I left out any information I'll be more than happy to provide what I missed. Thank you in advance.
You flashed a kernel not for your device and have hard bricked your phone. Look up jtag and mobiletechvideos.com

Thanks guys. I actually went to AT&T and played dumb. Since the phone was still under warranty they just replaced it on site.

Replaced it with MDL or MF3? If MDL, you better block the OTA quickly, If MF3, you better do some reading.
Hey guys,
So once upon a time, actually about a month ago, I had this great idea to root and flash CM on my AT&T GS4 on 4.3. Well I used Kingo Root and it went fine. But then came the flashing part. I went through all of the steps to get CM, until I saw to the "Downloading" Odin Mode screen and quickly realized the tutorial I used, did not take into the account I had a locked bootloader.. (Thanks AT&T..) Well I finally got out of that and quickly unrooted because I was scared of causing more damage.
Then came along the 4.4 KitKat OTA update which I desperately want. 4.3 is a disaster on my GS4. Anyways, after it downloaded and started to install, it restarted to the Odin Screen!! And so I got out of that.. again.. And now I'm back on 4.3 with no current issues. Except that I figured a factory reset would help me. Once again, it took me to the Odin screen and apparently I'm not going to be factory resseting either..
I really want to go to the exact way I got it. So I can start fresh and get the 4.4 update. I had seen where you could go into the recovery screen and select to wipe all data, but I'm not sure and do NOT want to lose my phone because it works right now.
So any thoughts?

The best way to prepare your previously rooted phone for the OTA official update is to Odin back to stock your current firmware.

Good luck.

This has seemingly completely reset my phone to factory settings which is what I wanted. I have not tried the OTA update yet, but I will try to post the results of that after I see how it goes.

Yup. Odin back to stock is the best way to go. Even if you decide not to take the official Kit Kat OTA update, you now have a fresh factory firmware installed. You can root, install Safestrap recovery & back up your stock rom (which I highly recommend) and flash custom roms, of which there is now some 30 + for our beloved MK2 S4. Either path you chose, you are going to be fine.
I have ATT Galaxy S4 -I337.
Wanted to get stock android installed, somehow ended up with version 4.3, don't know how I got here and very frustrated and confused, but don;t want to give up.
Now when I follow [How-To] Root I337UCUFNJ4 - 4.4.4 (11/13/2014). at the point where I flash NC1 my phone wont go past "Galaxy S4 logo" another words wont boot so i can continue the process. I have to constantly ODIN back to the original file which loads the system.
Please help completing this for me, I don't mind donating when I get this fixed
Follow this guide to get to NC1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2926642
So, what happened is I let a friend borrow my Note 3 running on NC2 with Safestrap and Hyperdrive rom. This guy decided to do a factory reset in Hyperdrive instead of wiping the data from safestrap recovery. Now the phone is stuck in a bootloop with the first splashscreen and the blue "recovery booting" message at the top left corner. Then it re-boots and on and on.
Looks like Safestrap was wiped, unless there's another way to get in I can't think of?
I assume that what I need to do is revert back to the stock image with Odin. The problem I have now is that I no longer have access to the stock NC2 rom images/firmware and everywhere I have looked has taken the files down. If anyone has those files and could either send them to me or point me in the right direction I would be eternally grateful! Without them I'm screwed other than installing the OEM rom and I'll lose my precious root forever I fear, if I've been reading the forums correctly.
Thank you for any help you could provide!

Alright, so I booted into Download Mode and then pressed down to restart, and that took me back to Safestrap and into the rom again. So, if anyone else has this problem, I hope this helps!
Something to be aware of though is that pretty much all the links to the stock rom files for the Verizon Note 3 are dead for anything older than Lollipop. If you still have the files lurking around on your phone or PC you may want to hold on to them for dear life.
