My device charges super slowly (I used it about 2 years)
I tried many ways to fix but nothing happen.
Is there any chance that my battery is so damage
Please confirm that and is there any way to fix it (except replacement)
Thank you
Need more Info:
When did this start?
How much time does it take to charge?
Which ROM and kernel are you on?
Do you have a rooted device?
Try seeing the battery icon while you change the position of your tablet. It may be due to a bad USB Port.
And, What things have you tried?

Thank you for fast reply.
It happened about 1 month ago and it take 7 hours to charge from 20% to 70%. i did not up any ROM, just updated android automatically. Of course i always check the battery icon when charging and i also tried another adapter AND another USB port, too. I try to turn off while charging and clear cached.
Any suggestion else
Thanks aniket0317.

I think you're on the wrong forum, if your device is 2 years old it should be a first gen Nexus 7.
Maybe if you post your problem there it should get more answers.

Sorry but i cannot find any place to post this, and i think that 2013 and 2012 is also the same. I need to confirm that maybe my battery is wrong. Thanks
Did you try a factory reset?
If that didn't work, try unlocking it and using the Flash Stock + Unroot option in Wug's Nexus Toolkit.

No, 2012 version and 2013 version are not the same! But I give you a tip: maybe the charging port (micro USB) is dirty, or broken. Charger is broken. I don't have a Nexus 7 2012 so I don't know the hardware and can't help you.

Did you try another cable? Asking cause I don't see it mentioned. Unless trying another charger implied the cable too.

Thanks for all helpings. I changed the charger and the usb cable also but nothing happen (i mentioned that). So maybe the thing is battery.
This happened to my 2012 Nexus 7, I had to replace the charging port.
You can get them on eBay for about $20 and if you can use a screw driver, you can change the port out in about 20 minutes.

I had this problem too after not using it for about a month. Replaced the charging port and problem solved! One of the easiest fixes to do

Ohh just my luck... SO basically I rebooted my nexus 4 and boom it wouldnt turn on. I read up a bit and people say to leave it charging for 15-30 min then put it into fastboot... tried it still no luck, Question is my nexus was rooted, custom boot animation, Stock Rom, Franco Kernel now if I was to return it to google how do I get it all back to stock? And any other suggestions you guy's would recommened for me to try before sending it back?
Ok so I got it to boot!!! YAY! using a person's post i found here they said
When you have totally dead piece, press all three together for at least 10 seconds... leave it ... press again and insert USB cable ...
you will get into RED LED mode...
remove the phone now
now VOL - pressed, insert USB cable again ... keep it pressed till you get FASTBOOT mode ... BINGO !
AND IT WORKED!!! Flashing everything back to stock and RMA to google most likely

Don't worry, your device isn't "defective". The next N4 you get will have the same chance of it happening as your current one does. It's random and there's no way to foresee it.

But the USB still works and is recognized when you plug it into the computer? So just flash the stock factory images and then RMA it.
Hej Guys,
I normally used my Nexus 4 - then it´s shut down(used hells-core + slimbean).
Now nothing will work(no normal booting, no fastboot and no charging etc) - only when I try to connect it with my PC the N4 wants to install drivers(QHSUSB_DLOAD anything).
Any ideas from your side, how to solve the problem?

I know when I had a sensation if your phone got in that mode it ment u bricked it. They can't tell what is on your phone cause that mode is used to flash firmware by manufacturers. Send it in and they will reflash it for you and send it back. Dont tell them u rooted it or unlocked it or flashed a ROM/kernel.

It depends on if they can bring the board back. If they can then they will see that and may charge you for the repair but the chances are slim.

I would say more like 95/5 That they wont see it. It is really hard to bring the board back. If they do it depends on them. Could be cheaper to get new device but wouldnt count on them seeing it.

No device is unbrickable. All you have to do is make sure you understand what your doing before you do it. Spend a week or so researching what you are doing then and understand what you are doing first.

Hi,
how described at the link support.google.com/nexus/answer/3257354?hl=en&ref_topic=3415471 the nexus 7 should not charge when is turned on and plugged to a computer but mine does.
I think it is strange it charges when I plug to usb computer but I need to plug because I use it to test apps during development.
Is it the normal behavior to charge also when turned on?

Hi, dafiduck...
The link you give, (http://support.google.com/nexus/answer/3257354?hl=en&ref_topic=3415471), refers to the second generation Nexus 7 (2013), and not the first generation Nexus 7 (2012). So whilst this...
QUOTE: "Your Nexus 7 can be charged via the USB port on a computer only when Nexus 7 is in sleep mode (screen off) or turned off."
...may be true for the newer Nexus 7, it certainly isn't for the older model.
Indeed, on the many occasions when I've plugged my first generation model into my PC, it immediately starts charging, regardless of whether its in sleep mode or not.
Hope that clarifies it for you.
Rgrds,
Ged.

Don't worry about it, dafiduck... people make mistakes every now and then. You're not the first, nor, I suspect will you be the last, to post on the wrong Nexus 7 forum.

Rgrds,

So I've been lurking here since I got my Nexus 4 (over two years ago) to find answers to my problems and usually I've been able to find an answer.
Now, I think my trusty Nexus 4 has finally given up the ghost. I powered it off Thursday night and when I went to power it on Friday morning, I got nothing. It had over 50% battery when I turned it off, so I don't think it's the battery. I've tried to boot it just about every way I can find, but nothing. It's been plugged in most of the weekend and still nothing.
So I'm thinking it's time to start looking for a new phone , what do you all think? If anyone thinks they've got a way to get it to boot up, just let me know, I'll give it a shot.
Thanks!
It sounds like it died. I don't have any suggestions on how to get it running if it doesn't even turn on.

No, if I plug it in to the PC it doesn't see it all.
I read through http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/tutorial-how-to-unbrick-n4-t2347060
but I don't think it will work because I can't get it to boot into any mode I've tried.
If you're running Windows 7 go into Start->Control Panel(view by large icon for ease of use)->Device Manager and go to Action and scan for hardware changes with the Nexus connected just to be certain that it's just not being detected properly in its current state.
Also there was another guy with a very similar problem that managed to fix his (does require dismantling the phone, but it's not too complicated)

Thanks for all the help, I saw another similar thread about the battery, but since it was about 50% when I shut it down on Friday night, I didn't think about doing it. OMG!! I just got done doing the battery thing and it worked!! The odd thing though is that the battery was no where near dead. I only charged using that method for about 10 minutes and then it restarted the phone with 30% battery. I have no clue what the problem was . . . but I think I might take this scare and upgrade . . . maybe, lol.

Brilliant news mate!
If anything I'd say put a new battery in there (£17~) and you'd have peace of mind in the fact that it will be unlikely to happen again any time soon, plus you'd save anywhere upward of £150 on buying an upgrade!
