QHSUSB_DLOAD Problem - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hej Guys,
I normally used my Nexus 4 - then it´s shut down(used hells-core + slimbean).
Now nothing will work(no normal booting, no fastboot and no charging etc) - only when I try to connect it with my PC the N4 wants to install drivers(QHSUSB_DLOAD anything).
Any ideas from your side, how to solve the problem?
BR,
Rash

Your phone is screwed. Send it to get repaired
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app

@simms22 -> A core from a german dev(Hellsgod - I think he is here on xda too).
@urmothersluvr -> Mhm, seems so No possibility to fix it myself?
Btw. I rooted my phone(as Custom-Kernel/Custom-Rom says).. May any problems with warranty? Not really(because phone don´t starts, right)?

I know when I had a sensation if your phone got in that mode it ment u bricked it. They can't tell what is on your phone cause that mode is used to flash firmware by manufacturers. Send it in and they will reflash it for you and send it back. Dont tell them u rooted it or unlocked it or flashed a ROM/kernel.

Uhm - not really good...
Because I don´t do anything "hard" things with the Nexus - only played a little game..
I won´t tell anything to Media-Markt...^^
Hope this will be done fast
Thanks for help!

Your device is bricked. Only way will be to send it back to have the motherboard replaced.

Thanks - as I wrote above, there should no problems with warranty or?
I mean, how should they see, if there was a Custom-Kernel/Custom-Rom on the Nexus?

It depends on if they can bring the board back. If they can then they will see that and may charge you for the repair but the chances are slim.

Okay - so my chances are 50/50
That´s really bad - any ideas of how much they would invoice me, if they see it?

I would say more like 95/5 That they wont see it. It is really hard to bring the board back. If they do it depends on them. Could be cheaper to get new device but wouldnt count on them seeing it.

If they won´t find it and make a new board in it - i´ll never flash or root a Smartphone again
And I thought, Nexus is unbrickable

No device is unbrickable. All you have to do is make sure you understand what your doing before you do it. Spend a week or so researching what you are doing then and understand what you are doing first.

That is exactly what happened. There is no SGSII rom that will work on the Nexus. Only Nexus roms will work on the Nexus.

[Bricked] Did the most stupid thing ever....

hey guys, you probably know me im not a noob but i honestly did the most stupid thing ever... i was having problems with my radio image, it was showing as unknown under settings/about phone so i had no signal at all. I went to fastboot and erased radio then flashed it again, rebooted and got the same... theen i thought it was spl related, so i went to fastboot again erased everything (fastboot erase system -w) then erased hboot (yeah i know im an idiot) and then erased/flashed radio (here comes the good part, laugh if you want) when it was done flashing radio I F*CKING TURNED THE PHONE OFF so now im bricked... i have no spl or recovery or fastboot or rom or anything... maybe radio xD.... and im sooo upsad, you have no idea guys... so i think thats it for me and android since i dont have money to buy a new phone right now. just keep the forum up, this is by far the best forum there is, the best devs, great comunnity and awesome support from everybody. maybe ill be steping by to see if i can help anyone, maybe they wont take my advice since i bricked my s**t but thats up to you n_n... im gonna go cry now peace..

there is a way, is called JTAG but I dont feel like buying that adapter to go ahead and dissasemble the g1. I could end up with a bricked phone in pieces, $20 down and a useless JTAG adapter. I think im giving up if there not a way to do it with the usb cable or the sdcard via fastboot or adb or something, meaning ill wait till christmas using my old sony ericsson w610 for a few months... but thanks for the advice man.

This is really sad. I bricked my phone ones too. i had death spl and new radio and happen to flash 1.5 cupcake rom with old radio and got bricked. I was lucky enough though coz i had a friend who totally smashed the display of his phone and was not willing to fix that. I got his phone dissasembled it, got the motherboard from his phone and hooked to mine. And its working good now.

As long as the RADIO is there, it is still salvageable. JTAG hardware can be acquired for about $2.

Yeah you should try JTAG rather than just letting it be since you've done so much and this is just 1 step further. Lol or you can wait for me to sell mine when I get my hands on G2

More info regarding how you came to the issue would be helpful. What did you do? that can be due to bad recovery.img bad boot.img or kernel while flashing. Tell us little more what happened so we can give you correct info.
At this point, nobody can help you. A fresh device that won't boot correctly, is unrecoverable. Send it to HTC America for warranty repair. Otherwise it's an expensive paperweight.
If the boot loader has not been changed and the stock radio is still the same then I would imagine you can get a warranty service still. By the way, in the video you only let the phone sit on the splash screen for like five seconds or so. Don't know if you have waited longer in the past, just something I wanted to point out.

Nexus 4 not turning on...

Ohh just my luck... SO basically I rebooted my nexus 4 and boom it wouldnt turn on. I read up a bit and people say to leave it charging for 15-30 min then put it into fastboot... tried it still no luck, Question is my nexus was rooted, custom boot animation, Stock Rom, Franco Kernel now if I was to return it to google how do I get it all back to stock? And any other suggestions you guy's would recommened for me to try before sending it back?
Ok so I got it to boot!!! YAY! using a person's post i found here they said
When you have totally dead piece, press all three together for at least 10 seconds... leave it ... press again and insert USB cable ...
you will get into RED LED mode...
remove the phone now
now VOL - pressed, insert USB cable again ... keep it pressed till you get FASTBOOT mode ... BINGO !
AND IT WORKED!!! Flashing everything back to stock and RMA to google most likely

Don't worry, your device isn't "defective". The next N4 you get will have the same chance of it happening as your current one does. It's random and there's no way to foresee it.

Awesome Wipe Script Bricked my Nexus 7

Hi all,
So I flashed the superwipe script made my "Awesome" and in the OP it said it wipes external so I assumed all was okay. well it wiped the internal entirely so now my nexus 7 is bricked. I can't even turn the ****ing thing off without runing the battery to dead.
What can I do now to get it back to at least stock ?
Nevermind..
I fixed everything by following this guide

Which is the crux of the problem-throwing around terms without knowing what they mean. It's like someone with a cough assuming it's mesothelioma when it's really just the common cold.
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I think that people tend to go into panic mode when something untoward happens... and the word BRICK in bright red letters flashes on and off in their mind, without really understanding the difference between hardbrick and softbrick.
People...
...if you see the word 'Google' upon boot - and nothing after (or maybe just the ROM boot-animation)... you're bootloader is still good and you're likely just softbricked/bootlooped or otherwise wedged.
If you DON'T see the word 'Google' upon boot... now is the time to start worrying - but don't panic, as that impairs judgement and clarity of thought.... both of which are needed in order to fix whatever ails your device.
Rgrds,
Ged.

None.. But get a case, I don't use screen protector but if you want extra protection go for it. Also I'd recommend rooting and installing PA rom with matrix kernel 9.5 and switch governor to Wheatley for best battery life and smoothness imo

As stated above get yourself a case since the back of the phone is very breakable. Other than that, leaving everything stock actually works very well but if you're feeling adventurous there are tonnes of ROMs/Kernels available and, being a Nexus, installing everything is ludicrously straightforward.
