[Q] P-600 easiest root - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

Quick question, what's the most straightforward root option for a 4.4.2 P-600 ?
Cf-root? Or something else - just looking for a hassle free root, no new ROM, just to get back SD card write permissions.
Thanks.

Right now there is only one that will work for p600 and that is CF auto root.

I've read the motochopper root procedure on another thread, but it's not quite as clear-cut. So do I install motochopper to the root directory of my external SD card, then extract it from phone recovery?

CWM?
Thanks for the root method, but how about a CWM for this device? I understand that a modified kernel for UV/OC is out of the question at this time but i can't find even a reliable custom recovery. The only one that i can find on xda is made by a user that seems reluctant to try it himself, therefore i am too...

I think you're talking about me and my thread, and I don't take offense. Heh.
I did try it (heck, I didn't notice that I didn't say that in my thread) and it doesn't boot.
Actually I don't know what went wrong. Tips?

1. U can unroot. And in the future if u flash stock firmware, root will be gone too.
2. Rooting won't delete any files. It will just open root access and inject supersu.
3. Triangle away I never used. But u can just read its thread. If written a support for ur device, means can. BUT, triangle away won't reset ur knox status.

Rooting with OTA 4.4.2

Hi All,
There does not seem to be a clear yes or no on this, so figured I'd ask. Got the phone off eBay and came with the OTA 4.4.2 update. I'd like to root to get rid of some bloat and try some xposed modules.
Question is if it's possible to root with the OTA 4.4.2 update?
I've seen RDLV, and it seems to require linux or an untested windows compiled .exe file which I'm not too comfortable with....
Any other methods?
Thanks

[Q] Noob here, I got a question about rooting and Updating software

Hi! I got Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Model SM-N910C). Im intrested in rooting my phone.
Before I do that, I wanted to know 1 thing:
If I root my Note 4, would I be able to upgrade it to andriod 5 when its realsed? From what I understood, I will have to delete all of my things in order to update (if i root it).
And if im still able to update it after I root it, Would i be able to do it from my device? (Without connecting it to a computer)
And one last thing: If all of what i asked above is possible, when I update to Andriod 5, my device would stilll be rooted? or will i have to do it again?
Im sorry for my ignorance, Im new with all the andriod stuff
And sorry for my poor english, its not my native language. If you didnt understood something that i asked please tell me and I will try to explain it better.
Yes you can upgrade
You will not be able to update through device, only computer
Android 5.0 is not rootable till now,if it is available you have to re root

Thank you for your answer!
But you didn't answer one of my questions, if I root it, do I have to format it before I update to andriod 5? (By format it I mean deleting everything in my phone except the operation system ( in this case it's andriod 4.4.4)
Bump please answer

No you don't need to format it, but the apps that require root to work will became a bloatware that you can't use until you root it again..

It most likely you need a PC to update (using Odin), because once you have rooted, the OTA update update won't work anymore.
And one last thing: If all of what i asked above is possible, when I update to Andriod 5, my device would stilll be rooted? or will i have to do it again?

You will loose root after updating.
You have to root it again.

The short answer:
Knox is a security environment developed for Samsung's Android devices.
Afaik, you won't lose any data.
if you dont know what it is dont root until you do. once you root you cannot unroot even if you flash a stock rom. your phone is permanently rooted and the efuse is blown.

Knox is a flag in your device that Samsung use to track your warranty status.
If you root or install custom rom or custom kernel, you MAY trip the Knox flag. That way Samsung MAY refuse warranty for your device.
You can check the Knox flag by booting into the Download mode (aka Odin mode).
Or the easier way is using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app, look for Knox Warranty Void.
But I won't lose any data, right?

Help with rooting

Hi
I am a noob so be gentle
I have a SM-G900F running Android 6.0.1 and I want to root it.
I don't want a custom rom or anything, I just want to root it so I can edit platform.xml to allow sd card access and then probably unroot it again so I can use my banking app that won't work on a rooted phone.
An idiots guide to root/unroot would be very helpful
Thanks
