1. U can unroot. And in the future if u flash stock firmware, root will be gone too.
2. Rooting won't delete any files. It will just open root access and inject supersu.
3. Triangle away I never used. But u can just read its thread. If written a support for ur device, means can. BUT, triangle away won't reset ur knox status.

TA only resets to 0 if you have a stock rom and recovery, otherwise it will always jump back to 1. Don`t use TA with a custom kernel, that may cause soft bricks/bootloops.

Basically, from what you are saying it is much safer to be on stock for the mean time? Are there stable roms out there that thats available? Mostly from what i read on android dev, they are mostly alpha (please correct me if i am wrong).
Btw, thanks for your help. I have successfully rooted my i9505 using cf-auto root. My second question is what would be the most stable recovery?
I read from an article that CWM is still unstable?

1. Read carefully. We aren't here to spoonfeed everyone, we're here to develop new ideas and share contributions on XDA.
2. With what info are we prepped with? Model number? Android version? *#1234# codes?
3. You need TWRP 2.7.0.0 recovery and you can backup your EFS there.

My CSC is N9005XSADMJ2.
So with my csc mj2 if I root it will not trip my knox is that correct?
Also I have been told that I should update to 4.4.2 before I root but am worried it will update my csc also.
I just want to make sure I do it correctly and don't trip knox.
I thank you in advance.

Not the csc
Urs is mj7. It will trip.
Why u have been told to upgrade first before root? Because if u root then upgrade, u will need to reroot again.
Any stock flashing will auto unroot ur device again. So why do twice?

Dude realy, to get to full stock unrooted first use Triangle Away to reset the system status and the binaries. Then unroot from within the superSU app and after that flash a stock rom and data factory reset.
Here's the link

There is already a way to go back to stock if you ever do decide to root. Give it a try and if you want, you can flash stock again.
TWRP Recovery is now available for the Note 4 on Tmobile.

I've tried to find an answer to this but can't seem to get a 100% sure answer. If I simply root, that's all, no custom recovery. Will I still get OTA if/when Samsung/T-mobile release an update (ie Lollipop)? Thanks!

I had a Quick question about Twrp recovery
I have a tmobile note 4 sm-n910t. I have rooted with cf auto root and put the twrp recovery on and flashed the sd card fix. If I unroot via odin with the stock rom will android recovery be installed again or do I have to flash android recovery again to get rid of twrp recovery. If I do have to reflash android recovery again do you know where I can find it.

Hi! I got Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (Model SM-N910C). Im intrested in rooting my phone.
Before I do that, I wanted to know 1 thing:
If I root my Note 4, would I be able to upgrade it to andriod 5 when its realsed? From what I understood, I will have to delete all of my things in order to update (if i root it).
And if im still able to update it after I root it, Would i be able to do it from my device? (Without connecting it to a computer)
And one last thing: If all of what i asked above is possible, when I update to Andriod 5, my device would stilll be rooted? or will i have to do it again?
Im sorry for my ignorance, Im new with all the andriod stuff
And sorry for my poor english, its not my native language. If you didnt understood something that i asked please tell me and I will try to explain it better.
Yes you can upgrade
You will not be able to update through device, only computer
Android 5.0 is not rootable till now,if it is available you have to re root

But you didn't answer one of my questions, if I root it, do I have to format it before I update to andriod 5? (By format it I mean deleting everything in my phone except the operation system ( in this case it's andriod 4.4.4)
Bump please answer

No you don't need to format it, but the apps that require root to work will became a bloatware that you can't use until you root it again..

It most likely you need a PC to update (using Odin), because once you have rooted, the OTA update update won't work anymore.

The short answer:
Knox is a security environment developed for Samsung's Android devices.
Afaik, you won't lose any data.
if you dont know what it is dont root until you do. once you root you cannot unroot even if you flash a stock rom. your phone is permanently rooted and the efuse is blown.

Knox is a flag in your device that Samsung use to track your warranty status.
If you root or install custom rom or custom kernel, you MAY trip the Knox flag. That way Samsung MAY refuse warranty for your device.
You can check the Knox flag by booting into the Download mode (aka Odin mode).
Or the easier way is using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app, look for Knox Warranty Void.
But I won't lose any data, right?
