[Q] s4 4.4.2 stock, will not allow install other mod! - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Being fet-up with samsungs useless bloatware now constantly asking for agreeing new legal and other, I wanted to go towards a rom that allows full control on what MY phone should or should not do or install!
I managed to root the s4 (not branded, orignal samsung so no sprint or At&T,...) tripping the stupid knox , but I do not realy care as I do not trust these solutions to be great, if some other samsung pushed solutions do not work either.
Nevertheless, I seem to be stuck not able to flash a new rom. I'm simply not getting in the recovery mode of CWM or something else.
I tried rom manager, which says : cwm flashed, I tried sgs4 Flasher, I tried ODIN troiugh computer. It all says "flashed, but when I want to get into the flash, I do not get the full menu, seems to be a standard Samsung flash rather then a mod flash recovery.
The name of the flash: KOT49H.I9505XXUFNA5, my mobile itselve has :
Model number: GT-I9505
Android version 4.4.2
baseband version: I9505xxugng8,
Kernel version: 3.4.0-2309103 from wednesday July 23,
Built number KOT49H.I9505XXUGNG8
SE FOR ANDROID STATUS: Enforcing SEPT-GT I9505_4.4.2_0019
Secure boot status: Type: Samsung
Security Software Version: MDF v1.0 Release 2
What I want: To be able to have another rom on it, so therefore I need to boot into CUSTOM recovery, what is not happening.
Can anybody help me? (might become a general problem for everybody later on so it might be interesting to know how to solve!

After a long day of trial and error, i finally manged to get it to work, by activating recovery from standard functioning within the clockworkmod APK program from google play store
Via the 3 buttons (volume up/down | power | and home, it never worked to get in the clockwork or other custom recovery.
Maybe samsung pushed within its latest update a blocage (i received around mid september 2014, probably an older update), a blockage with the buttons so that getting into an fresh installed recovery is kinda not possible and it keeps reinstalling the stock one over it......anyway, now it works...

IMEI\BaseBand unknown

Hi,
I've got a Nexus 4 Device that has unknown IMEI and BaseBand, hence i can't connect to any mobile network.
the things i've tried to do:
1. Flash to factory image from google (tried several version 4.2/4.4) using ADB fastboot which ran succesful all the way, i just got stuck on the nexus logo when it tries to load ( and yes i tried to delete cache and wipe data before and afterwards, it doesn't work)
2. tried to install different types of radio images on the device regardless of Roms.
3. tried to install various custom roms.
Perhaps it's important to emphasis that, everytime after i tried to install an original google Rom (later than 4.2, my current) it just gets stuck on the nexus logo. BUT, awkwardly, when i install the 4.2 version it does manages to load it succesfully but then again, the IMEI is missing and so does the broadband.
I remember that, originally, this issue occured right after downloading and installing from Google Play store the Root explorer app, when I wasn't actually rooted. I'm not sure exactly how it damaged my deviced that badly, though i find it hard to believe it was the original reason. Rationally thinking, I simply shouldn't be able to access root files in the first place, not lose my IMEI.
*note - I've heard of a HW device called OctoplusBox, that can rewrite the IMEI, though im not sure if even that could help since the baseband is also lost, I may need an expert on this.
i'll do my best to fill in everything i've got right here:
Current version: 4.2.2
Model Number: Nexus 4
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-perf-g7ce11cd android [email protected] #1
Build number: JDQ39
*in the "Status", everything including IMEI/svIMEI/broadband is all unknown.
Thanks in advance,
Let me know if your in a need of any additional information regarding the device.

[Q] To all who willing to help, about rooting galaxy s4, tq

Hi, 1st of all, i really really did search the whole forum, but still, can't find my answer.
So, i decide to ask....
I currently recieved a galaxy s4 as a gift.
But i find out that it doesn't have any google items: google play, google search etc.....
Due to last time I have flash galaxy note for custom rom with no google item in it before, so i think i can use the same solution to it.
But unfortunately, this couldn't solve the problem.
Google Play did install, but force close every time i start it, even with clear data or clear cache (from setting > app manager).
Then I tought that could be the firmware problem, as it is showing that there is an update ready to be install, thus I pressed install.
But still, nothings working.
Then I go check wherether the s4 is really an s4 or just a knock off.
With the data below:
Device name: Galaxy S4 (can be change)
Model number: GT-I9500
Android version: 4.4.2
Baseband version: I9500ZCUGND1
Kernel version: 3.4.5-913788 [email protected]#1 Mon Mar 31 18:54:48 KST 2014
Build number: KOT49H.I9500ZCUGND1
SE for Android status: Enforcing SEPF_GT-I9500_4.4.2_0011 Mon Mar 31 19:09:37 2014
I found out at samfirmware.com that this is a real galaxy s4, but is for the china market.
I saw some post saying that you can reflash other country stock rom so that google play can be use.
But what i saw for rooting tutorial is for jellybean(4.2) not kitkat(4.4.2)
So now, at here, i wish that some one can help out to solve the problem I'm facing.
Main thing, to get the Google Play shop to work.
An Android without Google Play store looks kind of wired.
Many thanks for reading my post and greatful thanks for helping me, thank you.

Need help getting GS5 back to stock and able to udpate

Alright....
So I've gotten a new phone, and I intend on selling my AT&T GS5. Only problem with it is that it will not update. I had rooted it awhile back, I can't remember how I did (something rain comes to mind when I to remember). Anyways, I've factory reset it, and tried to load a complete stock rom onto it. It still won't update.... When I download the OTA update, it will begin to install and then at 28% it will say "Update failed" and then reboot the phone. Any help?
Model: SAMSUNG-SM-G900A
Android version: 4.4.2
Kernel Version 3.4.0-2178781
Build Number: KOT49H.G900AUCU2ANG3
As of right now the device is fully stock (freshly factory reset), even says "official".
Let me know what you need, thanks.
Make sure that your Build Number and Baseband Version match (last 3 being NG3)
Here's a similar post that I got that information from:

Samsung galaxy note prime TWRP Blackscreen (textnow phone)

I installed TWRP bootloader onto my OEM Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Core Prime G360P Via Odin, and afterwords attempted to boot into Bootloader.
Upon doing so the phones screen goes black, and it acts like its turned off. My computer can't detect it with ADB, and I can't boot it back on without removing the battery and then inserting it again, after which it boots normally.
So yes my phone is working, but I need to get the bootloader working, I don't even have the normal android one right now because of this odd bug, i have rooted phones and tablets before both via Kingroot, and ADB depending on the needs of the device, and have some slight experience with it but limited technical knowledge, i have found seemingly similar problems but all said to solve via ADB, which doesnt really work as my ADB cant detect my phone when it is in this dead state it goes into instead of bootloader.
I would like a fix that will allow me to have TWRP installed, nothing that requires root as i have attempted all one-click rooters and none work for my phone, and i cannot install a custom OS as I am on textnow wireless and getting it to work with one is the biggest pain on earth (plus my calling would become sh^te without the custom textnow rom calling)
So basically i need to fix the bootloader without installing a new OS altogether, without deleting any of my inbuilt apps, and without factory resetting as I cant get to the bootloader to factory reset anyway, honestly i just need a way to get TWRP to work. If the answer involves another way of rooting my phone via Odin (yes i can still get to the odin downloader) and then running a root requiring app to fix my recovery thats fine but i dont know how to do that or what it would entail
im using: twrp-3.0.2-0-cprimeltemtr
Textnow wireless uses a custom os that is slightly modified from the default, I don't know what that entails but i know that affects what fixes may/may not work so i am mentioning it
before i get the same answers i have tried:
redownloading TWRP and flashing the new copy instead in case of corrupted image
removing the battery after flashing and then booting directly into bootloader so as to stop it restoring anything
I have tried flashing other recoverys, however upon doing so found that when i tried to boot into the bootloader it would then boot to Odin instead and give me an error saying it was unable to boot normally, so i reflashed the TWRP one and it gave me the same blackscreen once again.
Any advice would be very helpfull, im at my wits end and id like to be able to recover my phone should it have problems later, id much prefer i not get stuck

I found something that worked highly reccomend this autoinstaller for Odin
Search the forums for stock rooted deodexed sm-g360p, thats the TWRP that I use ... almost to much. The rom is also alot more susceptible to root, mods, and tweaks. The rom is sprint, boosts a sprint partner. Its helped me get the 4glte i couldnt pickup with the boost. But definitely find that post. Twrp isn't official to our variant(that i know yet) but it works the same tho a lil dated.

Flashing Stock Firmware (G935AUCS4APK1) Help removing constant security notifications

I wanted to remove bloatware and also install Nougat early on my AT&T S7 Edge, so I flashed a modified AP file with Odin and also tried to root the phone. I ended up inundated with security notifications about unauthorized actions that require a restart to fix (restarting doesn't work).
EDIT: I looked back at the files and initially I used the G935F firmware files before resetting to factory settings.
I tried restoring the factory settings but that didn't fix the problem. All attempts to flash stock firmware with Odin has not been successful, and I have tried various versions. Samsung+ also lists the phone as being rooted, whereas root checking apps do not. I think it's related to having the wrong BL/AP/CL/CSC files and maybe BL being version 4. I have only been able to find firmware with "REV02" in the title and I suspect I need a "REV04."
I have noticed that there is a way to update to Nougat through ADP or SD card, but when I tried that option a message prompt informed me that updating from external storage was disabled. It seems like I hit a dead end no matter where I turn. I have been scouring the net and trying various solutions for the last few days and submitted this post as a last resort. Please help!

There's currently no pk1 at&t firmware available. There is pi2 firmware tho. The bootloaders are the same so you should be able to Odin with no problems. Here's a link to pi2 firmware.

So whats your end goal here? To flash stock akp1 and update to nougat? Or are you just trying to disable the security warning on your current set-up?
If you want to get rid of the security notice you have to disable security log agent in system/priv app, if your rooted just delete it, or another option is go into the security file folder and rename the apk and odex file with .bak, that will disable it, OR use EZ disabler and disable that package.
As for flashing back to stock, I noticed odin and ATT firmware don't get along so great. I usually flash U firmware when I'm in a jam, seems to be a lot less picky. I use either prince's odin or theres a version of 11.2 odin floating around that also has worked for me.
