[HELP] Adding Flashlight Toggle to NG2 - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Perhaps one of you can shed some light on the issue I'm having...Cooking a personal custom NG2 rom for the Sprint Galaxy S4.
I tried to follow Cnexus's guide here, and tdunham's edited smali post (#283).
Modded SecSettings and SystemUI according to OP and post #283 (and the few that followed).
Compiled, decompiled, edited the references, recompiled. Everything seems to be good.
Put the two APKs in /system/priv-app and built a test version of the rom. SystemUI doesn't load (no status bar and settings appear to fc).
So I pulled the logcat and it fails signature verification. Did some googling and edited services.jar to skip signature verification.
Pushed that and rebooted. This time systemui loads fine, the status bar is there and notifications all work. But there is no flashlight toggle. So I tried flashing the enabletogglezip in the Update portion of the OP, but to no avail - it did not add the toggle.
Frustrated, I flashed this mod, and interestingly enough two flashlight toggles are added (both work fine). This leads me to believe the apks compiled correctly and have the new images and smali where it needs to be. But it's not getting added to the notification toggles.
Thoughts? Any tips are appreciated.

Post in the thread and someone will help you
I'm pretty busy nowadays but there are plenty of people in there that know what they are doing

Thanks for your response CNexus. I did post in that thread a few days ago, but haven't heard anything back. I hope it is okay I x-posted here, I was trying to get my question some more exposure.
I will keep messing around with it hopefully something clicks or someone much more knowledgeable than me can help me out! Thanks again.

MXMR.
Have you been able to crack this please do upload the systemui and secsetting files.
Tried the same but just lost the status bar and wallpaper turned black.

Did you add flashlight to feature.xml?

SOLVED Problems creating custom framework

First of all, have searched and tried all the guides I could find, still having the same problem.
So, I am trying to get rid of all traces of green, and there are a few frameworks out there which have done all the hard work for me. However, I am a bit awkward, and don't quite like the complete icon set from any one version!
I am using one of the blue themes as a base, and trying to add other icons for eg GPS, 3G/H connection, wifi connection etc.
I have taken the following steps:
1. obtained framework-res.apk from theme A
2. opened this apk in WinRAR
3. obtained framework apk from theme B and extracted the icons I want
4. added these icons into framework-res.apk A
5. used Update.zip 2.0 Modifier/Creator to convert the apk into a flashable.zip
6. flashed this via clockwork recovery
Now, everything works fine, apart from the battery charging icons. If the phone is running off battery, things are fine, but as soon as I plug the charger in, the battery icon disappears. If I try using battery themes only, or generate one using the UOT theme kitchen, and flash it after my blue themed framework, it reintroduces elements of green.
Have been struggling with this for over a week now!
---EDIT---
So, bashed my head against this brick wall for a week, finally gave in and posted this request for help and....the next framework I cook up works perfectly!! What did I do differently - nothing, as far as I know!
Go figure....gotta love the quirks of gadgets!

[Q] [AOSP Lockscreens] Unable to change [SOLVED!]

UPDATE: I solved the problem by simply pushing the android.policy he provided in his thread, I still haven't figured out what was causing it. Well now the problem is solved.
Hi, after following d3cka's AOSP lockscreen guide, I managed to add everything succesfully without any compiling errors.
After pushing all of the needed files and rebooting the phone, I started up with the sliding lockscreen and I was like yay, it worked! But after going to Lidroid Parts and changing the lockscreen style, it didn't change.
So I'm stuck with just one lockscreen, doesn't matter if I set to Samsung, Rotary, etc, it just always stays the same lockscreen.
Tried signing both lidroid-res.apk, lidroidparts.apk as someone suggested in another thread, doesn't work.
Tried installing lidroidparts manually as an app, got it to appear in drawer, etc, but still it won't change the lockscreens.
Tried giving LidroidParts.apk rw-r--r-- permissions, doesn't help.
Tried leaving /system mounted as rw but that doesn't help aswell.
Has anyone had such issue? If so, please share how you solved it.

[Q] Battery Icon

I'm new to theming and trying to start simple: changing the battery icon. I used a drag and drop method to update the .png files. Still, no matter what I do I see the stock icons! I'm on shabby's kernel, deodexed mdl stock rom. Tried wiping caches and fixing permissions. Tried root exploring to drop the new apks, and tried reflashing the rom with the updated icons. All fail. I found icons in framework-res(stat_battery) and systemUI(ic_qs_battery). None of those changes have stuck. Can someone point me in the right direction? Wondering how it even knows where to get the stock icons since I replaced them all(I think). In rom toolbox, I see the icons I created as though they are installed. Just need to get them to the notification bar. Are there more places where the battery icons sit?

I'm confused on what "(ic_qs_battery) is. But anyways, assuming you did change the ones in SystemUI/res/drawable-xxhdpi correct?

The ic_qs was in systemUI drawable-hdpi. Didn't notice the xxhdpi. I'll swap 'em when I get the chance. Thanks a ton!

Help needed to remove constant ciphering notification

Hello all
I installed one of the new ROM's based on JB 4.1.2. And I am unable to remove this constant notification from my phone whenever I connect to internet. I search on this forum and internet to get around this issue.
I went through this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2167606 and replaced the given apk file. But as the serraxer (who posted) mentioned my screen got stuck at boot screen. May be because I am using different ROM.
He even mentioned to remove by manually decompiling and editing xml file. I searched through internet and found some tool to do that but the boot screen again ran in loop.
I attached frame apk file of my system. If possible can anyone decompile as mentioned and post it here so that I remove the notification permanently

Here is the solution by ZaYAC_ua:
You need to install Safestrap and download a file from 4PDA:
Патч убирающий "Шифрование" (ciphering indicator) NoCip_Ind_in_XT907_9.8.1Q-78-1_ZaYAC_MOD.zip

[Q] How Do I Make Settings Into A List?

Before I updated to MF9, I had my settings as an "un-tabbed" list. Instead of the screen with four tabs and selections under each, just one long list.
I did it by editing my SecSettings.apk with info I found HERE.
Got around to doing it again after updating to MF9 from MDL, and it no longer works Everything looks exactly the same.
Has anyone done this with MF9? If so, how?
@_dan, you started the original thread, have you tried it with MF9?
I haven't even updated my rom to MF9 yet >.> been too busy with work. When I get home i'll give it a shot.

Cool. I'll be interested to see how it goes for you.
When I did it everything appeared normal. I got the usual warnings about translations, but built the apk fine. But then Settings didn't show up after reboot.
Curious. Whats your routine for recompiling the apk? I copy the original meta-info folder and androidmanifest back to the build/apk folder and recompile. This worked fine for the previous SecSettings as well as SecLauncher3 and SysteUI and framework-res.
