Hi,
I have my nexus 7 in dash and I have to use a usb gps mouse to get a gps signal. I have now every time go in to a app and press connect to get the usb gps working. So my question is: Could somebody help me to do a run shell or some other Script that tasker would do always when the tablet is waked up, which would connect the gps mouse to the tablet in the background.
Thankyou beforehand for your help!:highfive:

USB? Wow, never heard of those. I have bluetooth GPS but not USB.
Anyway, we can't really help you without more info. Can Tasker do it? Certainly. But nobody can guess how to run whatever it is that you have to do in order to get it to connect.
You might email the dev and ask is there is an intent you can call. Or you can launch the app then use things like dpad down, dpad in, etc, to see if you can hit the button.

The other day my touchscreen response time started to flicker and then gave out within a matter of a few hours...
I am making due with the help of smarts key and sphelper (adds a mouse you can move with the arrow keys.) The only functions that I lost were the ability to play my games and to change anything with battery status (beta 3).
I tried to connect a M$ Bluetooth mouse but it wanted a passkey which M$ does not provide. I tried installing the drivers from Think Outside's Stowaway® Travel Mouse but the software would not even find my M$ mouse. Has any one found a workaround to get the M$ mouse to work on a wizard?
I think all I need to do it replace the touch screen. Has anyone had any experience with this? I downloaded the service manual off the wiki but don’t want to trash my phone without a backup one ready to go.
Thanks for reading and any help is much appreciated.
a bluetooth mouse maybe?
has anyone at least gottena bluetooth mouse working sucessfully? and if so what brand was it?
Not the solution you are asking for, but something that will drastically help:
Check ebay.com items

150117976820
330115693756
Thanks for the links...if I get ballesy enough I will try and do it myself...hopeful I will get a new phone soon (if i can wait til June the Kaiser) and I can try and fix this one...or at least sell it on eBay
This one will give you access at least until you find another solution: you get your PDA on your desktop screen and can use it with desktop keyboard and mouse. I am using it myself and started to use my MDA more on the desktop than directly.
You can hook it up via USB or WLAN ...

Thank you so much that was exactly what I needed to get battery status set up the way I liked it as well as all of the registry keys set. Thanks again
Well,
I am glad I could help!
In case it is only the digitizer and not your LCD screen: SPB MOBILE SHELL lets you almost do anything on your PPC with only softkeys and navigation pad. The HW keyboard works on your device anyway I asume? If you want to take a closer look: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/screenshots.html?en

Okey guys!
it was a long time since i wrote here, but i actually solved the problem!
as mr-pill recommended i used Franson GpsGate
I installed the program with the .CAB to my memmorycard not the internal storage.
after installation i went through the wizard and i chose only internal GPS not garmin or bluetooth.
After that you got the option how you whant to sync with the other units, i choose bluetooth, make sure you have you phone paired with you macbook.
the in you program hope for that it supports bluetooth GPS.
and your done!

Nope nothing i cant get it to work :S
how shall i connect my device to my macbook? Bluetooth? USB cable?
Whan i choose BT it just says that BT not enabled even if it is :S
Very strange? IF USB shall i take Storage och Active Sync?
Keep us posted, I want to do the same thing except with Windows XP. If you do get it figured out would you mind posting how you did it? Thank you in advance
The only advice I can give you is: If doing via bluetooth you need to make sure the program is looking at the correct COM port otherwise it will never "see" the gps.

I had some fun with GPS2Blue yesterday, but finally got it working. As well as getting all programs to look at the right port, you need to create an incoming bluetooth serial port on the phone for it to work - you can easily create an incoming port on the PC easily (you'd expect to want your phone to access services on the PC, not the other way round, right?), but as I understand it's not quite so easy on the phone.
Managed to find these instructions and got it working perfectly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=499896&highlight=gps2blue
EDIT: This will work for all GPS applications that uses a serial GPS receiver, not just those that explicitly support bluetooth receivers (I got hold of some very old free software and it works fine). The bluetooth linkis handled by Windows/MacOS and all the app sees is a serial port.

Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
I was wondering if this is possible. I've heard of people using ICS Control to turn it into a hotspot, but I no longer have a working WiFi card. I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and all I can do is use the built-in Internet Connection Sharing that comes with WinMo until I get a long ethernet cable to wire from my router to my room.
So I was wondering if it's possible to use the phone's ability to receive WiFi to share that connection with the computer. I'm sure there's some way for it to be done. Any suggestions?
I have the same question
same situation here.
After some searching, I've found a program called "Serialtunnel" and "wmtunnel" that is supposed to do just that, however I cannot find any working download link...
Let me know if you find anything.
http://www.wmwifirouter.com/
Will work as wifi to usb, making your phone a WIFI usb adapter. I use it with my desktop when hooked to my TV in the livingroom, rather than a 35 foot cord.
Its as simple as= plug in phone, start Wmwifirouter , touch wifi to usb button.
Battery charges while working so it doesn't kill it.
phone's ability to receive WiFi to share that connection with the computer can only be obtained if your phone allows to do so. check out the official site of your phone developrs. there will definitly be some considerations about this
Two solutions
Found two programs that do just this, both work on Windows Mobile (and unfortunately not on Symbian), but are supposed to do just what you're looking for.
ICS Control
Serial Tunnel
IF anyone figures out how to get this (converted) to run on a Symbian device... Thanks.
Anyone?
Bumping to re-ask question.

would prob get more luck asking in a symbian forum
Hey all, was wondering, can the PC hook up and use the GPS in the HD2? I want to use it for Grlevel 3 for chasing, would be cool to gps track on that map using the HD2 if able. Thanks.
for the purpose of? if you connect it to your computer I'm assuming a desktop you wouldn't be able to move anywhere. also the hd2 screen is well big enough to be a gps all on it's own.
Netbooks, my friend. I did it on one of the great lakes for navigation. Worked great. Problem is, I forgot exactly how I did it. This is about what I did to get it working.
Cool found something in that thread that gives me a lead. =D Since I already have the virtual serial port etc. And yes I am using it for the purpose of having my HD2 hook up to my netbook this way when I storm chase, Grlevel 3 will be able to track live. =D
(HD2 screen is nice.. but no windows mobile grlevel 3 yet) heh.

Sure! Try GPS2Blue _ttp://users.skynet.be/hofinger/GPS2Blue.html...
Yea thats what im looking at now. Question is, Does the HD2 use the software port for this one (External GPS) or the hardware one?
k.. well the program is running, com port is working. However one message gps2blue comes up with after its port is opened is Incomming commands.... blocked.
Grlevel 3 on my PC status says its lost fix. So not sure.. Im assuming its not getting the gps data.
EDIT: I TAKE IT BACK! IT WORKS! I guess it just wasnt getting "as strong a signal" as my gps test said it was. Its working! HAHAHHAA
Software comport 4 is the external gps setting for the HD2, Grlevel 3 is now locating my signal. =D Thanks! If more info is needed for anyone else here, let me know, This just saved me a buncha money by not switching to geico and a usb/compact flash gps unit.
Also Google Maps with GPS which is free to DL for Windows, Works too using the GPS method. =D
Im not sure if this is the right place to post it. but...
I started to develop one app to use the android as a shortcut keyboard, like i configure the keys to the image buttons, and when I press the image button it will press the key on my pc.
But i really dont know how to make it works on PC.
if someone knows or have some guide for me, i will be really thankfull
possible bluetooth or wifi connection could work, bluetooth would be better tho, but you would have to code on the pc end aswell to get it all to talk to each other
I've wanted this for a so long it's ridiculous.

I did some tests with wifi, and an C# progrm as back end.
But with that i can only simulate the pressing of keys, and in some programs (games) it wont work.
So I need to get something without the back end in the pc, like, the pc recognize the android as a keyboard, and then i just send the keys i want.
I dont know if I explained it clear enough, but try to understadn
