Sound mods? - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I was hoping there was going to be something by ZeroInfinity for the S5 but I can't see anything.
I there an equivalent anyone uses?

As in what type of sound mod? Viper for android is probably the supreme audio effects mod, if you are looking for sound increase mods it has been posted many times throughout the forums just search, as for other mods you can look in my mod thread in the sig. It includes various sound themes and stuff.

Touchwiz MOD

Hi Everyone,
I tried to find a lot on all sections and google for a good touchwiz Mod but to no avail. So i thought of asking u guys for some insight to Mod Touchwiz for our beloved Galaxy S.
So i extracted TouchWiz30Launcher.apk to a folder. Was checking the different resources and i came across \res\anim and i saw two files fade_in_fast.xml and fade_out_fast.xml. Now they are binary XML files. So the question is can we modify or delete some values and speed up touchwiz. I dont care about the fancy transition or effects. Just raw speed. Please forgive me if this is pretty simple.
XML code for fade-in
<alpha fromAlpha="resource_id:0x0" duration="resource_id:0x10e0001" interpolator="resource_id:0x10a0005" toAlpha="resource_id:0x3f800000">
</alpha>
XML code for fadeout
<alpha fromAlpha="resource_id:0x3f800000" duration="resource_id:0x10e0001" interpolator="resource_id:0x10a0005" toAlpha="resource_id:0x0">
</alpha>
Awaiting reply. Thanks in advance.
That's a great topic. I don't care much for the fancy launchers full of complex customization. I just want the basic functions, and tw provides that. The home/appfolder switching has been bothering me. Would be great to make the transition quicker. Not sure I'd like it entirely removed though.

wow we are talking milliseconds here, your time really that precious?
Guys its not about milliseconds. Some would like transition and some just fast navigation. Tried all other launchers and they are good in their own ways but does'nt suit my taste and others who like touchwiz. Guys should i be moving this post to Galaxy Development.
Definitely interesting, but you should probably move this to the development forum.
I think you can turn off animations, in the TW settings, and I assume, that is the fade in, and fade out ?

Unfortunately it doesn't affect that particular transition.

[Q] ROM geared towards music

Hey guys, has anybody developed a ROM that is completely geared towards music, or does it even exist? I listen to music almost every hour of the day and I love music more than anything, but I was wondering if there was such thing as a ROM that was geared towards music. Meaning, it has a really great music app, and it is all completely integrated within the ROM, like how Cyanogenmod has DSP manager and the volume buttons to change the song, or how you can change the song in the notification menu on ICS ROMs. So basically, are there any ROMs that have a TON of these music related tweaks and has a really good as well as smooth music app?
well with Beats now available for most UI instead of just for Sense, people will have their different opinions. no, there isnt a specific "music rom". but thats where music widgets and themes come in. I listen to a lot of music as well, and my current setup is CyanogenMod 7.2 using PlayerPro/DSP pack (not DSPManager, the one included with the ROM), and no Beats(never really liked it). IMO its one of the best music players, you can tweak the EQ levels to your likings, and has a useful swipe gesture. been using it for months, well worth the purchase
The market has a few apps that may help tweak your sound settings.. Beats is more of a money making thing to advertise the beats headphones.. Nothing to fancy..

Lol...I added beats to the arhd 3.0 port. Now I must say this because I am a music junkie and not because its my port but try Endymion 3.4. It's has beats included and its ok but when you add the beats zip it improves it and its crystal clear. I suggest downloading the equalizer app too. That way you can tweak your highs and lows.

[Q] Most tweakable G2 roms (like viper roms)

Hey guys, I managed to break my lcd connector of my HTC One X+ while replacing the old screen, now I need a new phone, that's why I'm
going to buy the G2 (gonna miss my old one..). What I'm looking for is a rom with many tweaks and features, just like a Venom Rom.
Some of you might already know the Viper Rom and with that the amount of tweaks and features given, maybe you can tell me what your favorite ''viper''-like rom is. For those who don't know Viper: I'm looking for a very customizable rom (e.g. statusbar tweaks like the brightness dimmer from CM or simple tweaks to change the colors like the buttons or the quick settings) with many features (simple stuff like enabling the flashlight by holding power button or change music by holding sound buttons etc.). Tried to be a little bit specific to not get flamed, hope you got some nice
suggestions for me
Edit: sorry for that, i'm going to buy the international g2

You did however, fail to mention which version of G2 you have. There are different ROM's for the variants. Yes, there are many that cover all variants, but quite a few that are specific. Many would have to exclude some answers if they were trying to cover all variants. If you created a sig, that would solve this issue as well.
I too am curious about any Viper-esque ROM's, I liked it on my EvoLTE. Who knows maybe Team Venom will build us one, doubtful:crying:
All of the tweaks you mention can be done using G2 TweaksBox Xposed module on any stock based rom, you should take a look at it if you don't know it.

Discussion - What ROM Features You Prefer To See ? - LP 5.1

Hello everyone,
I'm cooking a good taste ROM, but i don't like to make a " known " ROM features, with nothing new .
So, what do you prefer to see in a Custom ROM for Lollipop 5.1 for our beloved Xperia Z1 ?
good job bro in your upcoming rom realize I wish a rom with new Sony concept with 4K record a good sound mod. battery also the main problem in lollipop roms, no roms now Can compare with kitkat screen time anyway brother every one has a different wishes so I hope you wont be confused with people's complaints and questions
Good Job
double tap to wake, good sound mod and 4k video recording.
1. 300% total blacked out lollipop 5.1.1. firmware.
Yes, I supercalifragilisticexpialidociously hate the constantly changing colors. Don't get me wrong, the matte look is what I like, which is why I have 2 motorcycles that are both matte black colored, but this chameleon thing is just.... @#$%^&*() !!!!
2. Put back the original Sony Walkman logo & app please, same look (but blacked out), same feel, same menu/configuration screens/options BUT with a much louder audio output that doesn't break the audio quality when the volume is cranked up.
3. Highly, extremely debloated right off the bat but fully functional smartphone. Please have a look at this.
4. No added "Settings" on the Settings page.
5. No modified About phone page.
I honestly do not know if this is possible. You can have the Developer option already listed in the Settings page, but on the About phone page, at the bottom where is says Build number. Turn that into an option so when tapped on, the it opens another page with all the About ROM, About Kernel, About Author, About etc., put on for custom firmwares. So in that way it looks like a stock and official Sony firmware, but it really isn't.
6. Native double tap to wake and double tap to sleep function
7. Time lapse
Not a fan of 4K recording too because it eats too much space, not all phone can readily watch 4K recordings yet. Same with TV sets unless your the ultra rich or you always have to have the newest TV set that has 4K option on it.
8. Manual Camera controls like that of DSLR
Off course it still won't compare to the real DSLR cameras but to at least have a much better control over the camera would be nice.
8. Full screen contacts picture
9. Child lock
I don't know if you can ever call it native or embedded, but a child lock that isn't a 3rd party app I guess would be nice.
10. App lock
Like that of Clean master. Also same with #9. I don't know if you can ever call it native or embedded, but a non-3rd party app too.
A highly debloated ROM with a good sound mod and some screen saturation controls along with better battery tweaks and double tap to wake.
Sony concept OS in our device would be superb.
Full layers compatibility would be great too.

im a big fan of customization, so hopefully there is some difference.
Do you mind with a ROM size 1.6GB ?
Offcourse the actual ROM isn't 1.6 it's a light ROM, but with Mods selection and Aroma it's 1.6GB .
So you can control the ROMs Mods not the opposite.

Thats awesome that you are asking before, so are u planning AOSP or Stock?
Hi bro, maybe u can change sound control cause youtube sound is very low.. ?

@abo hani - suggestion if you don't mind: put up a poll if people would like Sony Stock or AOSP. And oh, yeah I'm reading more and more about layers - I like the total black out it's giving at least on the screenshots shown in Google Play store. If layers will keep the customization-friendliness going but maintaining the debloated-ness (if even remotely possible) that would be cool.

Stock offcourse, i'm not seeing " awesome " stock ROMs, every dev is putting random Mods, and i've tested most of the ROMs, they are not good as expected .

I'm gonna develop a stock based ROM, AOSP ROMs are not in my developing region, if you mean " dark / light " apps, yeah .. i'm gonna put them and believe me, the users gonna control the ROM features in every way, so you gonna feel like a ROM dev when you put your own customization .

@abo hani if you can add these too to your list it would be awesome: Battery Life, atleast a average day's use like 6+ SOT should be good.... Awesome sound experience, i am not saying stereo mod, Just a lot louder than stock and good clear audio... Camera mods would be good, even some third party camera apps, if they really improve the performance...
Last of all and most important, it would be good if it is a UltraSlim version of stock, like just OS with fully operational phone... And if needed add the rest as add-ons... I would prefer to have the mods implemented directly than using Xposed...
That's all.... That should be perfect.... I am not asking for an ETA (You can just skip it if you want to) but when you are planning to start it?? (Just Curious)
Are you going to use a existing kernel or you are cooking a new one for your rom??(Again Just Curious)

Kernel, i will put an option, i won't force the user to use a kernel, you can either use the kernel in options or the current one.
for ETA, i've already designed the banners & logos .. and put the plan for it, gonna start tonight
You won't be disappointed
Please take a look at the system UI icons. The mobile signal and the battery icon are too far away from each other, it makes our status bar very ugly IMHO.

What are my theming options?

Played with ROM's on my N2, got the N4 on opening day and have been busy ever since.
Just now slowing down enough to consider playing. I've tried a few of the newer ROM's and they are great. Especially like the OBAR. However visually I would like something similar to the Alliance ROM. Something with lots of choices of pre-made themes as well as the ability of granular tweaks to the theme. Unfortunately while it does boot I am having too many issues with it and a majority of themes do not even have a preview. Nor do a lot of the settings seem to work. (Yes I did flash the color fix.)
I'm on 5.1.1 COK1 (well Alliance is 5.0.1 but I'm headed back to OBAR)
Give me a head start, is there any framework, app or ROM that I should start looking at?
What are your suggestions...
Thanks in advance
MBK
I was searching for this theming options too... i like to be stock but really liked the note 5 and htc theming apps and official theme stores. They are deep and change the whole phone personality..
Wondering if any here using or know best ways to use stock themes app for sprint note 4??

Thanks for the reply, I admit I haven't delved in deep to xposed but I thought it allowed you to tweak things. Wasn't aware there were full blown themes available in it. I'll have to check it out.

Yea i me either but it works well since Android 5.1 seems to be soo hard to theme.
xposed seem to be pretty stable but you will have to try out modules to your liking
i use wanam of course but xblast and screen off animation modules
well to give me these lil tweaks but you can do much more
the fan on the side is pie but the screen off gives me my crt off animation and more
