[Q] Connect HD2 in bootloader to linux PC - HD2 General

Hello,
I am trying to get back from WP7 to Windows Mobile on my HD2 (European version) but my Ubuntu 14.04 PC doesn't see the phone bootlader mode.
Bootlader shows:
PB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.HSPL 8G XE
0x05
CotullaHSPL 0x50
USB
My SD card on which I kept Windows Phone 7 is probably broken because it is not readable even though I connect it through adapter and not through the phone so I can only use USB to install the old system.
On HD2 I can boot Windows Phone but only to make an emergency call and not further.
Do I need to install some drivers on my PC? Are there any for linux?
Thanks in advance for help.

you should be able to flash wm6.5 from your sdcard.
look in your downloaded extracted wm6.5 folder for a file called RUU_signed.nbh, and rename it leoimg.nbh and put it on the root of your sdcard.
Go to bootloader screen and it should flash it.
Be sure to use the correct wm6.5 rom for your phone, tmous phones can be bricked if wrong rom flashed.
See http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/01/01/how-to-upgrade-htc-hd2-rom-through-sd-card-video/#more-7398 if unclear
good luck, and welcome to the forum
Edit; Sorry, just re-read your post and sdcard is duff, try https://www.winehq.org/
Edit2; which wp7 rom was it? If it was an early rom, it might be storagelocked, and inaccessible. All of the latest wp7 roms do not lock your sdcard so that you can still access the 200mb fat32 partition, you can resize it to the full extent of the sdcard using gparted, and re-format it. Then flash from sdcard as above.
Else unlock sdcard with an old nokia phone, or buy/borrow an sdcard

Firstly, thank you for fast response.
I used other SD Card and did it the way with leoimg and at first it stopped when I tried installing 3.14, but 1.6 did install! Everything works fine.
Thanks again for help.

I have one more question.
I need to change language to Polish and I tried a few things:
I have installed WWE_East_Europe 3.14 but even though I change regional settings to Polish, language does not change.
I tried to install InterWrite's Extension extpkg.exe through Wine but it gives an error 'files have changed'.
I have also tried to change the name of extpkg to leimg.nbh and istall it through SD Card but, as I expected, it did not work.
Is there a possibility to change language to Polish in any other way?

There's no possibility to change language in Windows Mobile, unfortunately. You need to look for a ROM from Polish operators.

Question - Uninstall hardspl

I have an HD2 and it had a custom rom and hardspl.
something is wrong with it so i need to send it back to the store.
i just flashed back to a shipped (dutch) rom i found in on xda.
but i think i'm doing something wrong with the hardspl.
i unpacked the shipped rom,
took out the RUU_signed.nbh and renamed it to leoimg.nbh.
Placed it on the SD card (root)
hold volume down and boot the phone.
i go into the red green blue screen.
then it says loading for 2 seconds.
and then i go back to the red green blue screen and nothing happends..
what i see is:
pb81100 hx-bc
spl-2.08.hspl 8g xe
cotullahspl
i assume this isnt the original spl?
what am i doing wrong?
anyone???????????
Have you tried installed HSPL3 and selecting the SPL (non HSPL) version that was the same as the shipped one.
First you need to format the SD card to fat32? It is done? ... read and follow all instrutions. There's same ambiguous information in this forum, not your fault.
- Download a shipped Rom from *HERE*
- Rename the extension to .zip
- open it with winzip and extract the RUU_signed.nbh file to a folder
- Rename it to LEOIMG.nbh and copy it to the root of a microSD card thats been formatted to FAT32
- Insert your storage card into your phone
- Enter Bootloader and follow onscreen instructions to flash
in hXXp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
Some how i finally managed to do it.
i used the combination of both your sugestions.
formatted the sd card and placed the file on it..
then i synced it with my pc and opened the hspl3.exe thing...
and then it went for it!
thank you both for your help!

This has been discussed MANY times so have no idea how you couldn't find info via search.
All you need to do is..
a) Power off phone
b) Hold Volume down button
c) Press (do not hold) power button
d) Once Tri color boot screen is up, plug in USB cable.
e) Flash stock ROM from HTC site.
DONE!
I am sorry.... But Thx i Just did that and Its back to Win Mob !

Make sure you use HSPL 4 to revert your HSPL back to 3.03.0000 SPL before sending it back in. If yocflash the most recent T-Mobile update ROM the 3.14 ROM you need to reflash it via SD card as it has SPL 3.10.0000 and HSPL 4 does not have that SPL version in it. Bit flashing via SD card will give you this SPL version if you flash the ROM I am speaking of.
To flash via SD card right click on the ROM and select rename and rename it to a .zip file and hit enter. Then right click the file again and select view, find the RUU_signed.nbh file and copy it to the root of your SD card. Don't forget to go back and rename the original file .exe again so you can use it later if you need it again. After you have copied the RUU_signed.nbh to your SD card use your File Explorer to find the file and rename it to LEOIMG.nbh. Next turn your HD2 off and hold the volume down button down while you power your HD2 back on and as soon as you see bootloader and searching on the screen let the volume down button go and follow the on screen instructions.
This will have you 100% good to go for a warranty exchange or repair.
Hmm, So you want me to take the stock Ruu File that i downloaded from t-mobile and rename that to leo.img....the HSPL on there is currently it shows -2.08.HSPL
in the triloader screen? I am still confused on what to do exactly... i already reformatted the phone with the stock Ruu. And thats what the HSPL is that shows on the Tri Color boot screen of the phone.

Yes you need to revert the HSPL back to SPL. HSPL is a custom SPL and you do not want this on your HD2xif youcare sending it in for warranty replacement or warranty repair. The twocways of reverting it is to flash the official ROM via SD card or use the HSPL 4 utility to revert it cause you can flash SPL as well as HSPL with it. But I recommend you use the SD card flash as the SPL with the current T-Mobile upgrade ROM is 3.10.0000 and HSPL 4 does not have this SPL.cGocto the below link if you are still confused about flashing via SD card, it will explain all.

make its the .nbh file that your renaming to LEOIMG.nbh ... dont just simply rename the .exe file
Well the file i downloaded it seems to just be an .exe file... thats the one i was gonna rename to .nbh... that file is the same one i used to reformat the phone back to win mob 6.5

You havecto rename the file you downloaded. from .exe to .zip and then you can explore the file to find the RUU_signed.nbh file.

the exe file is just an archieve that with in that is the .nbh file.along with the radio and the update software.. you just need to extract it using winrar or prob changing the extension from .exe to .zip... once extracted the file.with the .nbh extention is the rom.. the bootloader will only recognize .nbh... so just change the .nbh file name to leoimg and move it to the root of the sdcard and once in bootloader mode it will detect the file and flash it and remove the hspl
Ok, So i put the leoimg.nbh in the sd card booted to the Tri loader and its just stuck on that screen... its not currently connected to the computer... it says serial on the white part of the screen... How do we get it going... or start the process?
You guys said it should search after letting go of the vol down button but its not moving from the screen and theres a 1gb sd card.

? make sure the .nbh file you renamed was the rom (largest one) and that you didnt just rename it to leoimg.nbh.nbh because thats a common mistake and try naming it LEOIMG capital letter... but thw bootloader should load up the file without any input from you
Also make sure it is on the root of your SD card.
How do we get it on the root... i just copied and pasted it to the micro sd card... and its all in caps! Also it doesnt just start up

Yhe root of your SD card means it iscjust on the SD card and not in a file. So when you view your SD card you should be able to see it with out having to open a file.
oK, So, i renamed that RUu file which i made a mistake in putting it in .zip and re extracting it because i had found another Leoimg.nbh file that i tried using so, I reformatted the sd card to fat32 and but the one i found of the Ruu file.... and renamed it the "LEOIMG.nbh" and re did it... And now it picked it up its installing Radio V2 Rcust bootloader splash 1 os config data...so we shall see what happens...!
Ok, it said Update Success... Does that mean i am done after that or do i have to do anything else?!

[Q] Problem with HD2. Any one here can solve it?

Try to install original rom from sd (after android).
my hd2 stay hold on gray screen with loading...
no more no less.
my sd formatted fat32,and the .nbh file named leoimg.nbh
the three color screen readings:
SB81100 HX-BC
SPL-2.08.0000 8G XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0X30
MAGLDR V1.13 (DON'T WORK)
8. AD Recovery gives me> ERROR: ERROR: Invalid boot image header.
can't make hard reset.
Any one have solution.
You have to download the original rom to your computer and use the DAF to install it. Make sure its at the screen with the 3 colored bars while its hooked to your computer.
you can find the original/factory rom on this site, just transfer it to your sd card and rename it " LEOIMG.nbh " without the quotes and make sure you capitalize it.

That means normally that your CWM installation is broken and cant be loaded.
I would recommend you to switch instead of magldr to clK... it is not so complicated, boots faster and the ROM Manager is working on it
1.) Get the HD2 Tool from here and follow the instructions how to install clK
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783
Post 2. Part B.
2.) Get the ROM you want to install on your SD start your phone and hold the home button and install the sd via the CWM

Get to stock version

Iam EU version hd2...I want to go back to stock version win6.5
Iam having magldr, android energy rom....Iam passing my mobile so I want hd2 as it was when taken out from box....plz give me steps...

Find a WinMo Rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283
Always make a backup.
1. Change .exe from rom download to .zip
2. Find file name RUU_Signed.nbh (or something like that. should be like ~270MB in size) and change name to LEOIMG.nbh
3. Put on a 4GB or less microSD card with a FAT32 format
4. insert sd into phone
5. go into bootloader by booting phone holding power and vol. down button
6. the flash should start automatically and should install stock rom/spl/radio

[Q] stuck on american android screen

hey, i'm having a lot of trouble to get my phone started again.
I tried to use amercian android... but now it's stuck on the grey boot screen. For like an hour now, and I reformatted the sdcard already. And tried twice again. I know it's supposed to be stuck on that screen for a long time, but an hour?
But do you have to run the clrcad.exe and haret.exe even if you run it with magdlr? Because those don't work for me. I get: This is not a windows 32bit application.
does someone know whats wrong? Because before this I had a lot of other problems (the boot didn't work etc.) and i'm kinda wanting to use my phone now...
If you answer, thank you very much!
For MAGLDR you don't use CLRCAD and HARET (I don't know how you'd even select those) but you set the AD SD Dir and then go to Boot AD SD. What radio version do you have? It should be above 2.08.50. If it's a x.xx.51.xx then Android won't work. You can change the radio version by flashing HSPL then a radio ROM.
thanks and help?

see, the phone first belonged to other people, who put android on it. So I do not exactly know what everything is. How do you flash HSPL? do I even have it? Because I looked for a guide, and it said that you could check your spl version by doing a reset. But I did and I can't see anything? So i don't even know if i have spl, nevermind HSPL. And where can you check your radio version?
Thanks for the answer though! I really need it.
Turn off your device, turn it on while holding the volume down rocker. A colourful screen will appear, post the information shown on top here please. (Or take a picture if you can).

You already have HSPL, but I just noticed that you're not running android using magldr. Just search for the error you got, the fix is easy.
If you are running win6.5, then to start Android from sdcard you need clrcad.exe and haret.exe
Or just directly boot from Android SD option in magldr.
Try fixing permissions in cwm recovery.
If it still doesn't work.
It might be possible that you have corrupted your android files in SD card.
Download the android files again (of the android you are using) and copy them to your SD card. And start again.

First decide how you gonna run android OS. from SD card or from nand.
cwm is a recovery used for nand android ROMs.
