Hey is it possible for anyone to make a working port of the Verizon Hyperdrive Rom to the Sprint s4 preferably to the triband version but the regular is fine to or even better make it unified anyone interested in doing this?
You can flash almost any ATT Verizon and T-Mobile ROM
Not unless its Unified. Unless you wanna hard brick your phone. The reason i say that is because my version of the s4 is very very particular on what's flashed.

False. Flash your ROM of choice, then flash a Sprint kernel before rebootong. Works for almost every ROM from the other carriers.
Well I'll just have to try it and see is all i can say. Ive got the triband version of the sprint s4 and a buddy can back me up on this it's very very particular.
If i used the Verizon Hyperdrive Rom what would be the best sprint kernel that wouldn't cause any issues
Since it is based on NC5, I would guess that NC6 would be a good starting point.
I install Hyperdrive RLS17.1 on sph-l720
I used TWRP to flash Hyperdrive+RLS17.1+KK+S4+Final. I wiped all partitions but Micro SDcard. Installed like any other rom selected verizon has carrier. Flashed StockNAEKernel.zip before I restarted. Everything was working but I had no data and HiddenMenu would force close when I first booted. Other than them two problem wifi, calling, and texting was fine. I was hoping someone could help me get data to work because this is the best rom I have ever ran on my S4.

Sprint 4G LTE APN
APN: n.ispsn
MMSC: http://mms.sprintpcs.com
Multimedia message proxy: 68.28.31.7
Multimedia message port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 120
For running Verizon custom ROMs on Sprint phones, this APN setting will allow everything to work including 3G, 4G LTE, SMS sending/receiving, and MMS receiving. But MMS sending will not work!
There is a work-around this, just use 8SMS app, which can replace your SMS app and also allow you to send MMS. (install and enable, that’s it!)

I wish it was that easy. I flashed my phone to Straight Talk on Verizon CDMA Network. If I use my sprint SIM my data would work, then error out after a few minutes. If I boot up with no sim no data. I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for the info!
I will gives this another try. Once before i flashed the verizon hyoperdive rls18 rom on my phone using verizon set up and for 5 minutes i had service and then i lost it. also before installing the rom i replaced the current apn conf of the rom with my stock sprint apn conf and i used the stock nc6 kernel as well. but i never did input a manual capn conf to it so maybe thats the key thing. it had sprint apns after i did the conf thing but maybe something was missing. thanks for this advice and will give it a try. will let know what happens.

Edit: I'm on ng2 so I flashed the ng2 stock kernel. If you are NAE flash the NAE kernel or choose Ktoonz during aroma install

I'm in North America and using the I9100 SG2. I also wanted to try ICS 4.0.3. I stumbled upon a fix to get MMS working finally. This is what I did.
First I flashed a stock UHKG7 rom from sammobile and backed everything up with Titanium Backup. Checked, everything worked.
Then rooted with the appropriate CWM flash. Then flashed the Ibyani rom 3.2 without wiping the system but did clear the Dalvik, Cache and Battery stats, Fixed permissions and rebooted. This resulted in a ICS build where I could send MMS pictures but Not receive MMS pictures. The same problem I've seen using many different custom roms. Half way there. In the Titanium backup there was a system apk named MMS provisioning 2.3.4 I went ahead and restored this APK without including the data. Titianium locked up on restoring. I let it set for a few minutes and when ahead and rebooted the phone expecting a need to use CWM to recover to a known working system again. However the phone booted up and worked, I could also send and receive MMS pictures on ICS, Whoopie it worked. My MMS BUG CURED.
Not what I was expecting but it works?
Is this a US only carrier issue?
I'm on stock LPH using stock (rooted) kernel in the UK and MMS works without any problems for me, both sending and receiving

Not for me, I use AT&T carrier and no problem with MMS on ICS.
This guy went through alot of work. My MMS using LPH ROM works fine. Sometimes I have to turn wifi off to download an MMS though. Still much quicker & easier than his method. I'm on AT&T, I did create my own APN though.
I dont have any problems with my stock 4.0.3 rom and im on Rogers in Canada
MMS doesn't work for me on LPH, Optus, Australia.
To the AT&T users: what APN's are you guys using? I can't MMS to send. I'm on stock LPH, and I'm on a grandfathered unlimited 4G plan.
i don't have a data plan, and was wondering if it was possible to get mms working through wifi... anyone figure out how to do that?
mms on lph works finr for me ....if i'm on mobile data, wifi it won't work.
the difference with this rom is that it doesn't seem to save the APn settings i try to add manually ...but ... it works never the less.

No, that won't work - MMS typically uses IPs / addresses only routable via the mobile network. All MMS uses mobile data regardless of WiFi connectivity.

AT&T APN, I mixed & matched some input from other APNs to create my own. There it is.
The APN below is strictly for MMS send & receive.
You are right I did go through a lot of work and a whole lot more frustration. The carrier I use is a small local carrier that uses unbranded and unlocked international hand sets. Union Wireless. They use two APN's one for internet data and one for MMS data. I verified APN settings with the carrier. Had a local tech support person who recommended some different settings, combined settings and nothing would work. I spent lots of hours searching here and on other sources for a potential solution. And also tried other roms and builds, Nothing worked except original GB NA ROMs rooted or unrooted until I stumbled about this via blind luck. Yes this thread may be pointless for those of you on other carriers or with working MMS however in my case it cured my problem.
I have the same issue with all ics roms. Same situation. Small, obscure network that piggybacks a larger network. NO FREAKIN MMS. Waa hoping to use this fix on my nexus s but I cant find this MMS provisioning apk anywhere on any gb rom. Any hints?
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
Yeah could someone please upload this apk from a GB rom to dropbox and post a link?

in APN TYPE, if you use the same APN for internet, your APN TYPE should be : "default, mms"
and you should save it

Hello, is anyone here familiar with stock msgr working fine, sending and receiving mms but a 3rd party msgr like handcent receiving but not sending...?
I'm not sure but with wireless on it looks like it is using wifi to send, because the sending notice goes real fast and says sent almost immediately... Without wifi it takes longer and either way is not received on other phones...

hello
First off, I have modded with cyanogenmod quite some time ago.
I have kept that up date (cause of their nice update program), but I have never updated the carrier roaming lists (PRL?). My coverage seems to be crappy and I think it just may have to do with my newbishness.
I am running Cyanogenmod 11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-jflte
Sprint PRL = 55018
is there a retard guide for me to easily update.... any suggestions or links would be great. I have spent over an hour searching google, but I am obviously using the wrong keywords and I am getting frustrated. I keep stumbling across other models / mods and I am fearful of breaking something....
Thanks for your time

You'll need to flash a touchwiz based ROM to do a PRL update.

Yes, unless you use stock rooted. But that doesn't matter since all you are doing is flashing stock ROM, updating PRL and then restoring cyanogenmod

sorry for being a pain, but as I dont do this often...
if I flash the zip here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257503
this will put me back to TouchWIz original (plus root)
then I will follow the rest of the steps
(sorry for being dense, I was incorrectly thinking that I would loose the ability to use clockworkmod recovery / restore functions once I flashed the touchwiz rom and I would have to root before I could restore cyanogen, but that is firmware not ROM..... )
Its late and I have been up forever...
Thanks
I need some help.
Using Clockworkmod recovery V 6.0.4.7.
Tried using http://galaxys4root.com/galaxy-s4-rooted-stock-roms/ >>>> "Download Galaxy S4 rooted Stock ROM Sprint SPH-L720 Latest MF9 "
checked the filesize and the md5 sum, all good.
WHen I tried to use CWM to install zip from SDcard1 it gave me an error (missing 4 of 5) and aborted the installation.
I tried to search somewhere else to find a .zip that would bring the Sprint SPH-L720 back to stock, however they all seem to not have .zip for CWM recovery however make use of ODIN (which i cannot use as I dont have a windows computer, I use linux)
I want to go back to stock to update the prl before going to cyanogenmod 12.1
any suggestions ?
thanks
qu1nn
Rough night here.
somehow I lost clockworkmod recovery and ended up being still rooted with stock mf9 recovery, but I still had cyanogenmod 11 working; I recovered by installing clockworkmod application; > model > flash clockworkmod recovery > shutdown.
In the midst of that fiasco I say this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2296167
which implies that keeping the PRL as up to date is not so required.....
so I bailed after several different attempts to install a ROM that would allow me to do a prl update.
I flashed the latest cyanogenmod nightly 12.1 and I am off and running.

I won an HTC One M9 from sprint. My previous phone was a non-triband L720 Samsung S4.
I'm selling the phone to a friend who will be getting Sprint, but can't yet do it because the closest place around is like 60 miles away!
So in the mean time, he got a straight talk card (CDMA&GSM)
I have found two relevant URLs pertaining to unlocking the phone.
Domestic unlock - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2530610
And international - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415587
Thing is,
A. I'm in good standing with Sprint so I can get it unlocked.
B. Dear god look at those instructions! I can unlock it manually, but dang man! That's scary if I go into a menu and screw things up, or worse, it doesn't unlock and I don't even know which step I messed up on. I've been flashing for years, I'm not a newbie.
I need help with:
A. helping me know which stock from to flash. I came from lollipop.
B. while keeping my recovery if possible. He wants my CM12.1, so I will back it up and then restore it.
C. Do I need to flash any modems/basebands? I'm confused. I have
L720PUGOD2 currently.
So
1. Backup cm12.1
2. flash lollipop stock
3.call Sprint, get UICC unlock
they will domestic unlock it right?
4. Then I can get back to the cm12.1 on my own.
Is that correct? From what I read, CDMA straight talk
So hopefully it's that easy. My buddy want the phone working asap so I would really appreciate an opinion from a pro. Thanks!

Yes, OD2 is the stock Lollipop, actually if you look in the General section there is a domestic unlocked OD2 modem that you can simply flash in Odin.

K, so I was using a guide that required me to download a self extracting zip that would downgrade me to M919. It just. wouldn't. work. I went through hell to make it work.
downloaded Kies, drivers.... I ended using a different guide that had me downgrade to NG2. with a few lines of ADB, I was unlocked! two days, 20 files later....
Anyways, flashed the Google edition ROM, pimped it out, and everyone is happy. I learned a lot in the process.

You can't, just edit the title to say [Solved] at the beginning or end so if someone else has the same problem they can find the solution.
I recently bought an unlocked LG G2 VS980 from amazon and I'm on ATT. I put my card in and I have basic service such as calling and texting but I have no data what so ever. I believe I have all the correct ATT apn settings but if you have any helpful information tell me. I'll be okay with just 3g. I'm on Blisspop running 5.1.1.
EDIT: It seems I've made matters worse as on the APN settings, I've selected to reset to default, then later I moved my sim back to my old phone. When I turn on the device again with my sim in I am greeted with no service what so ever and in the APN settings "Access Point Name settings are not available for this user"

Right when I got the device I went straight to rooting it and putting lollipop on it so I didn't get the chance to see it work. But in this video it seems to have worked
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ry6_G4ycc-c
Could it really be the rom?
Also I got the apn setting back but none of the att settings get me any data. No 3g or edge.
I checked my sim status and it recognizes I'm on ATT, Mobile network type HSPA, In service, but on Mobile network state it says its disconnected.

It could possibly be an incorrect apn or it could be an incompatiable boot stack. Did you flash the boot stack your self or did blisspop flash one?

These are the apn settings that came by default. As for the bootstack I got the loki one for VS980. "bootstack-vs980-LP_39a-loki-signed.zip" Also in this video

In the comments, the uploader says this "Yeah it may not work on the g2 anymore with Verizon as the baseband changes between the two." to a person trying to get data on lollipop also. Any thoughts? Can you change the baseband back while keeping lollipop?

Sorry for the delay man. Im out and about atm but when i get i. I will look at the blisspop download and see if it has a different bootstack with it. It doesnt make sense to me that the lollipop update would remove functionality of the devices compatiable frequencys without hindering the frequencys verizion use themselves. In the meantime make sure your apn settings look like this https://apn.gishan.net/settings/37_4_att_apn_settings_for_lg_g2x.php

Also while i think of it can you check what frequency bands at&t run on in your area as the verizon model onky runs on two of the four bands that the at&t lg g2 does. Its possible that your area doesnt run the bands the vs980 needs.

I've checked the rom and it doesnt flash any boot stacks but i found a post here saying that the users updated to the kitkat bootloader and the lollipop modems etc that use bump and not loki so you could try to do the same. follow the steps in this comment here
So I just follow the instructions about the bootstack? I don't have to flash any additional modems? Since I already have blisspop, do I need to wipe then flash?
Edit: I just flashed the 39a bootstack and nothing changed really. I still don't get data but still receive texts and calls. As for the bands, if I get calls and texts I shouldn't I at least get 3g or hspa? Any more help?

Not necessarily, the calls/texts is on a different frequency to the data reception. You can check easily enough, if you look at coverage plans from at&t for where you live it should state their active frequencys. If the bootstack flash failed to help then its either not in the correct frequency, the apn is somehow misconfigured, the rom is bugged or the phone is damaged. You could make a backup and then flash a stock kitkat rom if it turns out your frequency is all good. But other than that im not sure what to suggest pal.

Hello,
I have recently purchased an S8 on newegg.com (Samsung Galaxy S8 G950FD Dual SIM GSM Unlocked) and wanted to see how I could get the T-Mobile bootloader on the phone, as I have noticed that my data speeds have been extremely slow compared to my old + other phones that were US versions and came with T-Mobile software. Currently, there are no options for VoLTE, Enhanced Network options, etc. that I usually find, even though I am on the T-Mobile network and went to their store to get a new SIM card. I found instructions here to switch to any carrier firmware 100%, but wasn't sure if this would ultimately help achieve my goals of increasing network speeds on my phone. Also, it calls to download and install "G950W firmware", but I wasn't sure if it would be okay since my phone is G950FD.
Here are the phone specs that I have pulled:
CP: G950FXXU1AQL5
CSC: G950FOXM1AQL5
Model: SM-G950F/DS
Am I correct to assume that once I follow those instructions, it should be relatively straight forward, and would make my phone as if I had bought it from the T-Mobile store (US version)? Are there any changes to the instructions that I need to make for my phone specifically?
I bought mine as an unlocked Verizon phone but use ATT. I downloaded Samsung Smart Switch on my Windows PC. When I started it I was able to update the firmware to the layest.. When the phone rebooted afterwards a message popped up on the phone saying that I had "Switched SIM Card Carrier" and then proceeded to download the ATT S8 apps and swapped the bootloader to an ATT bootloader. All VZW apps were removed as well and ATT native apps work now including visual voicemail and number sync with Samsung Gear 2.

I'm trying that now.

It finished and just rebooted the phone without asking me anything about SIM card changes or carrier settings. Now I just have Android Oreo instead of Nougat.

Sorry man, it worked for me. My phone is a Samsung S8 G950u so it may be different but I can only attest to what worked on my particular phone. I bought it as an unlocked phone on eBay and it came with Verizon firmware. It sealed to match my ATT SIM after updating with Smart Switch.

no problem. it was def worth a shot.
so after doing some more self research I guess that I shouldn't follow those instructions from the link that I provided since that is for "G950U", and I have a "G950F". any ideas on how I could get Tmobile stuff on the G950F?
