Been searching all over google to try to find a rom/kernel that will set SElinux to permissive for my Galaxy S5 active. Im trying to use my phone via MHL on my Pioneer appradio 3 and have already rooted the phone but cant seem to find out how to set SElinux to permissive. Read somewhere that the app on the google play store only works for android 4.4.2.... Im currently running 4.4.4 . Any Help/advise would be greatly appreciated thanks.

There is an app in play store called SELinux Mode changer, which you can use but in order for the app to work your kernel should support the permissive change.

I have tried that exact app and got no results, I'm not very good with phone rooting. I know ive towel rooted my s5 but i think in the tutorial I used, I believe they had you flashing the stock kernel back onto the phone to not trip the knoc for warranty reasons? Where would I find a kernel that I can flash that will allow me to use that app to switch selinux to permissive? Thanks again.

If you use other kernel then it will trip the KNOX and you will loose your warranty....

to be honest I don't care I just want to know where I can find a kernel lol. I'll have to look some more on here and see if there's one or a way around it.
From the looks of things it seems you have an att variant, is that correct? If so you cant set it to permissive because you need to flash a permissive kernel which isnt possible on the att variant. Theres a third party app available that works on SElinux enforcing called "appradio unchained reloaded", it is a bit pricy though.

OK, yes I do have the att s5 active. Thanks for your reply, I've seen the unchained reloaded app (30 bucks) on the playstore I believe but not sure if it can mirror your actual phone screen with touch capabilities? I'll look into that. As far as my phone is concerned there is no way to get se Linux set to permissive then? If not I was looking into getting the new htc
One m9 when it comes out, I believe it will have lollipop 5.0? Any chance that would be a better phone that may support changing selinux to permissive if the AR unchained reloaded app doesn't work the way I'm looking for?

Sadly, no there is no way to set it to premissive since you cant flash any bootloader or kernel that isnt official. If you plan on getting a new phone id stay away from buying direct from att cause they tend to lock their devices down so just make sure you do your research.

Hi, I'm about to root my n910f 4.4.4 btu but I just need to know what the root "breaks".
I already know S Health is one of the things which stop working but what else (if anything)
Next question, how do you "fix" the apps so they work again while the phone is rooted?
Thank you.
Chiller.

S Health works perfectly fine after rooting. The only thing that it breaks is Knox (you won't ever be able to use knox anymore).
Shealth works of cours it breaks 2 things warranty XD and OTA ...well Knox works for me I rooted via towel root ....u can still get updates by disabling root temporary by using app on play store like root triangle away or something like that...and when u go to download mod ur Knox will trip and u can't fix that ...it won't affect u by any mean ...

How on earth did you root via towelroot on a note4?
Eh!I did to my s4 d s5..for note 4 u got to wait anyway I gave answer according to ur question press thanks if it helped may be u can try mobogenie one click root...I m not sure about triping Knox....did u try towelroot on note 4 is it supported ? Get the app and check it out..

Everything works except knox wich for the vast majority is not a problem. Warranty is a question of luck, some repair centers doesn't care about knox triped but others refuse to repair in that condition.

I rooted my first Note 4 and indeed after it was rooted S Health stopped working. Because the Note 4 had more issues I returned it to the shop and they exchanged it with a new one. My new Note 4 isn't rooted because of the S Health issue.
Dude, Root doesn't break S Health. I have it rooted since the fist day I owned it and tracks my fitness perfectly. Xposed is known to break S Health and Private mode but a Module fixes it. Right now I'm running the lastest Lollipop build and everything works perfectly fine.
The only thing that breaks is Knox. So if Samsung Pay comes to our device (right now is on S6) you couldnt use it as it requires a non triggered Knox. But, In my country, i doubt Samsung/Apple/Android pay will come to my near market.
S Health working fine on my rooted Note 4 too.
Root does NOT break S-Health. Something else did that, 100% sure. Most prolly Xposed or system bug. S-Health & Private Mode should work rooted for 99.99% of the time. the other times it's just individual phones thats the cause

You loose Knox which is a very handy feature if you like to have multiple identities / accounts (facebook, instagram etc) Or if you have multiple relations with girlfriends (no spying woman) and you also loose payments with fingerprint verification (FIDO) Actually you loose anything that uses the FIDO API This is not fixable anymore when rooted
I have the AT&T galaxy s5 running 5.0. It's currently rooted but I was wondering if there was any verified working methods to changing the SE Linux from enforcing to permissive as I've yet to find one that works. I need to do this because I'm trying to get full touch capabilities on my AppRadio 3. I'm sure this topic has been addressed before but as I said I've yet to find a working method to changing the SEC Linux setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Other than using multisystem, no. App radio unchained works wothout selinix permissive, it is rather pricy though.

Nope, the only way to set it as permissive on g900a is by installing multisystem.

Hi guys!
As some of you will know, Samsung have no longer allowed S-Health to work on devices where Knox has been tripped.*
This guide will show you how to get the latest version of S-Health to run without this block.
Some members and also me reported s-health for knox doesnt work on khongloi Roms but if you follow this ways you can solve this problem and deknoxed problem.
After install Rom install this zip in TWPR to change buid.prop.
I tested it only on my n920cd device on khongloi nougat s7edge ported Rom.
If you have problem tell to check it.
And also thanks to @CuBz90 (S7 edge developer)

Probably not a good idea for prople to flash a build.prop file to other device variants(or Roms in case anyone's thinking of doing that). Could really mess things up. Not sure about Khongloi ROM either, but to fix S Health(easily), I think all you have to do is:
1) Download "build Prop Editor” from the Play Store.
2) Locate "ro.config.tima" and see if it's set to "1". If so, then just set it to "0".
Worked for Me at least. Anyhow, hope this helps. Good luck!

That's simply not correct as the solution is easy and the mistake to be fixed by rom builder -> see post beneath

It works fine on some Roms. My current one, for instance, I didn't need to tweak anything to get it to work. My last one I had to do the build.prop fix I mentioned above.

Once you root you trip Knox. Afaik you can't reset it so certain apps like Samsung pay and s health will stop working. In the future there may or may not be a way to reset it.
You have to root it again and install build prop from playstore, search of a line like this ro. Config tima=1 and turn the 1 to 0 and save reboot your device and it will work

Nope, it won't.
Even if you factory reset your phone, the Samsung Knox trip will still be there, so you'll unable to use it.
Another option would be installing custom ROM that "tricks" apps into thinking that the knox is still on, but again, some apps might not work. In my case, when I still use a S7, my samsung gift app doesn't work anymore.
Well, if you really need to get S Health, I think this is the only option.
You should have done your learning before rooting. On ALL Samsung devices for the past 3-4 years, rooting was a one-way trip to trip Knox, and the only solution around that is patching the system so it thinks you still have Knox at 0x0.
Since Knox is a single eFuse that can only be written ONCE, you can NOT undo it. And you probably just lost your warranty.
I have downgraded my S Health version to 4.8 and now it works again - with knox tripped.
I used that version: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsun...ase/s-health-4-8-0-0085-android-apk-download/
Good luck

ro.config.tima=1/2
change to

I updated with odin to Oreo UK Fw .
All works well except S-Healt which claims that the phone is rooted (but I did not root and knox is 0/0) and does not start.
I tried to update S-Health but it does not work, and I can not install version 4.8 because I have this message: not installed
Unfortunately it is installed as a system app and I can only disable it and delete updates, but even so it works.

I can't install an older S-healt version, if I try the result is: "app not installed".
I can only install a newer version.
I try Knox status checker also, and it shows 0x0.
Is very frustrating this thing.
