Just noticed that on the left hand corner of the screen is a small shiny patch. It is not a scratch on the outside of the screen. It appears to be between the screen and the glass. Pictures don't do it justice. It is very noticeable outside, because it is very shiny. My question is, what is it and can I fix it? It is visible whether the LCD is on or not. Doesn't look like anything has cracked, or seeped in. Wasn't there earlier...

Seems that the gorilla glas and your screen got off a little bit. Since they are glued together it could be the case. You must disassemble your device to know more
Looks like glue between digi and LCD had a failure. Is it a device you bought used?. If so whoever changed digi messed up on glue job. If its device you got new from google I would RMA......that is definitely a manufactures defect.

I bought almost new, nearly 1 year ago. Wasn't like that last week. Don't think I can RMA it to anyone. Guess if it gets worse I can replace the screen...
Thanks for the responses...

Yeah, I got in contact with LG support on Friday and they're getting back to me. Hopefully get a replacement screen.

Before I call HTC, does having about 20-30 specs of dust near the top of the screen qualify for getting my phone replaced? I don't want to have to pay, but I would love if i could get rid of these. I have a small dent (only in the metal part) on the top left corner where most of the dust is. It was here way before this (dropped it about a week ago, almost cried), so it's not because of that. If this has happened to you how was HTC on the replacement?

the only way is to call them and find out, they are pretty nice and honored my warranty even though i wasn't the first owner.
You really want a refurb?
I too have some dust on the bottom. Im not original owner either. Not sure if i should try to get it fixed or just live with it. Mine is in perfect condition otherwise, without any scratch or imperfection, a refurb might comeback dustfree but could have other imperfections.
Yes. It's covered.
I had a single spec of dust under my screen and an unlocked bootloader from before the method to root without unlocking surfaced. "Expedited Repair" got my phone back to me after about 7 days with no charge, and they relocked my bootloader. Never had to unlock again to root which I was glad for, as I hated that padlock icon every time I rebooted.
I had a lot of dust under my screen and they sent me a refurb over night. Refurbs are just ones that failed QA and go back to be remanufactured.

Here is the missing pic hope it works this time.
If you broken just glass- digitizer. so you just buy new on ebay. If you broken lcd screen, too so buy lcd+digitizer.
just make sure you buy digitizer for your phone because there are two types of them. One you showed is an older type and there is newer "snap in" type.

i cant put the picture because of 8 post block...
I broke the glass of my Leo last week as well, fixed now. I was lucky though, it was just the digitizer but when they were about to change it they did tell me that the digitizer and the lcd are so close and well pinned to each other that there was a risk they broke the lcd when trying to remove the digitizer so then I would have had to buy lcd +digitizer .. but it worked fine. Good luck!
Broke mine last October, covered it in a screen protector and its been fine ever since. The money saved not replacing it is in my "new hd2 for sam" fund, and you soon get used to the cracks, which can hardly be seen when the back light is on.
it happended wid my frnd too !
I dropped my phone and destroyed the screen a few weeks ago. Fortunately I was insured, they agreed to fix it and I got it back inside 10 days or so. Problem, the damn screen was loose at the top corner - you could fit a fingernail in easy. So, more than a bit annoyed I called them up and they apologised, said they'll pay for the postage and they'd sort it out.
Sent it back and they just returned it with the same damn problem! I can lift half the screen out of the case if I pry my fingernail under the (already loose) top edge - see attached photo. You can push it back in place, everything works fine but it works loose if worn in a pocket like normal.
Clearly their engineers are incompetent and I don't know if I can be bothered to return it AGAIN to find most likely the same problem repeated. Looking at the inside it seems that it's just a bad glue job - I can see sticky stuff that's meant to be holding it in place. :silly:
My question is - could I just reglue the screen in there? Does anyone know what kind of glue to use?
If it's covered by insurance get them to fix the problem at their expense as if you glue it yourself you would render insurance invalid if any other problem happened they wouldn't fix it as it would be voided because you glued it yourself
*Sigh* - yeah like I said - send it back a 3RD TIME? I really think they have trained chimps doing the repair work.

The bad news is the bezel it actually part of the frame so it can't be replaced with completely disassembling the phone down to the digitizer. You can however buy a broken phone from eBay in good condition and just swap boards. I just bought a flawless phone for $50 which had been in an otterbox but it had a dead board. I swapped the board from the old phone with a cracked screen and it now looks new. The bad news is most broken phones from eBay have broken screens or digitizers. If they have a dead board as the one I found, you have no way of knowing for sure if the phone will even power on after swapping boards.
Another option would be to buy an aluminum bumper frame which will cover the bezel up so you won't see the scuffs and dings. These don't add much size to the phone like a full case does. They also come in pretty much any color

I just opened and setup my V20, I was super careful with it. I only had it rest on something soft while I was getting the sim activated and until I put the case on. Well, it seems to be something like a shiny spot on the camera rim. At first I thought it was a reflection, but is a blemish. I am torn, should I take it back (BestBuy) or live with it. It sucks to have that out of the box.

It is to the outer side of that on the chrome rim. I cannot feel the spot nor clean it away.
looking athe photo, it seems like the outer rim, and not the protector.
Anyway I got it replaced so all is good.
I need to take you along with me next time I buy a new truck!!
