First follow the instructions in this guide listed in "Common Problems/Questions" section.
This is what helped me:
Method 1:
Download this SBF and Flash it
Do a factory reset
Root your Phone
Download 2nd Init 1.4.2 and Install ClockworkMod Recovery
Download and install this Nandroid Backup << File is Back, thanks Ichibanme again!>>
Enter Recovery, Wipe Data/Cache
After wiping, turn off your phone
Turn it on and get immediately into Bootloader mode
Flash this Fixed SBF
Delete Data/Cache again and reboot.
Then follow this guide [GUIDE][FAQ][Android 4.4 KitKat] Installing & Customizing CM11 or SlimKat

another possibility for non BL7 stock
- or you can flash this sbf
or this sbf which are both froyo stock
- root it using this one on Windows
- install cwm with 2nd Init 2.3 apk
- and at least flash twrp 2.6.3.0 which is necessary to get cm 11 boot because of SElinux support
!!! after flashing twrp u need to reboot to recovery again and flash rom right away !!! otherwise it won't boot
this helped me to get rid of it

Monzer, when you install bootmenu are you installing the .apk and then opening the app and then clicking to install 2nd init? This is the right procedure! after you do this reboot your phone and watch for blue led to flash during boot, hit volume down once it flashes blue.
What 2nd init version are you installing? here is the latest http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=792601&d=1322064151
Are you trying to flash CM7?
There is a very old version of CWM that should be suitable if all else fails you. It should work just fine to flash CM7 but not so sure about CM9. However if you want to flash CM9 You could use this old version of CWM to flash CM7 which will in turn install a new version of 2nd init which is definitely suitable for flashing CM9. This old CWM "might" work for flashing CM9 but I dunno if I would try or not! Download in my attachment below!
You MUST enable USB debugging to install.
copy the apk to your sdcard and use a file manager to install it then open the app in your app drawer and choose to install the custom recovery (with USB dubugging ON)
THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
AFTER INSTALLING THE CUSTOM RECOVERY DISABLE USB DEBUGGING.
You enter CWM by again opening the app and choosing reboot to recovery (with USB debuggind OFF)

Black screen and no boot after flashing cyanogen mod 7.1

Hello guys !
I have a problem, i have an european (french) motorola milestone 2, i have this stock firmware "MILS2_U6_4.1-22" and i have rooted the phone with DoomLorD and i have install droidbootstrap, go into recovery of the droidbootstrap, flashed bootmenu 0.86, go into custom recovery with bootmenu, flash cyanogen mod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239778), did a wipe data and cache, reboot the phone, have picture (rayman's rabbit and blue logo motorola) and have black screen after this picture, can't go in boot menu (haven't got a blue led). Somebody can help me ?
PS : Sorry for my english.
Hold camera+vol down to boot into bootloader and then flash stock SBF (http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2) via RSDLite.
I have already done, so i can't put cyanogen 7.1 v1.3 in my phone ? May be it's the bootmenu ? I set i to default boot to normal, help me please.
It should be set to boot via 2nd-init. You need to flash fixed-sbf from the CM7 post. There should be a link for that in the same post or thread.
edit: I am guessing you are on Official GB.

Yes i'm on official gingerbread, it's a problem ?
I have tried to put the default boot on 2nd-init and i have no boot already (black screen after the rabbit and motorola logo)
What can i do ??
Flash fixed-sbf using RSDLite. That's the complete install process for GB CM7 on GB kernel.
After applying the zip file you have to apply fixed-sbf from Endless7's CM7 thread. And if it does not boot after that try a data wipe.

Thank's a lot, i have not flashed the fixed sbf after flashing the zip file (cyanogen), after flashed the fixed sbf the phone reboot corectly, thank's !

8.After mobile booted copy the Gapps zip and cm7 stable or nightly zip file to root of your SD card.

12. Reboot. Go to app drawer and start up the defy baseband switcher. select the appropriate baseband to achieve optimal reception.
*Can do a CWM backup here [(Backup and restore -> Backup) NOTE: When restoring backup you must first flash a stock from (2.2/2.1 if the back up was done on either, and 2.3 if it was done on 2.3) as it doesnt backup the kernel]
To upgrade to nightly or from rc1 to rc1.5:
1. Download update and copy to sd
2. Go to bood menu -> recovery -> Custom recovery -> wipe cache and dalvik cache (in advanced) Install zip file from sd card(select the zip file you copied to sd card) thats it.

Stock Defy+ waiting to be rooted.

Hello , I just acquired a new Defy+ sometime back and would like to know if somebody could help me find a thread which would help me install the best custom firmware out there.
What are the advantages of using a custom firmware over stock and would it be stable ?
Read this fully and all your doubts will be cleared. Regarding custom ROM, CM10 is pretty good. I'm using the same on my Defy+.

Thank you for the link , I will read through it now.
Should I go ahead with this method ?
How to Root: (NOT for BL7)
Get SuperOneClickRoot
Get and Install Motorola Drivers [32bits] [64bits]
Reboot your PC
Turn USB Debugging ON (Settings -> Applications -> Development on your Defy)
Connect your Defy to the PC
Wait for the PC to install any missing Drivers
Click on Root
Let it work, then it will ask if you want to install BusyBox, hit YES
After it finished it will ask to make a test, click cancel and just Reboot your Defy
Done, Defy rooted
Assuming that you've confirmed your ROM is not BL7, the method is fine.

Ok I just found out that I have BL7 and the procedure for rooting my phone is in this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956
Can you please explain to me the steps in detail ? from wiping the phone to flashing the required files , I'm a complete noob at this.
"1. Wipe phone twice (2x make Wipe Data/Cache in stock recovery) [just to play safe] [to boot in stock recovery restart your phone while holding Power+Vol Down button]"
When I power+vol down i just get a green android logo with an icon , how do i get into stock recovery to wipe data/cache ?

TWRP Recovery has killed my defy

Hello guys, unfortunately my defy + with CM 10.1 does not work since I installed TWRP Recovery 2.6.3.0, I also lost the ClockworkMod recovery, and so I can not restore my copy CM 10.1, the phone is not charging (it is now only 25 %) ask for help.
If your phone don't boot
Charge battery with external charger
Flash .sbf firmware
Wipe data in stock recovery....
Reboot
Root
Install recovery
Restore nandroid
Be happy again
If it's boot
Copy system/bootmenu folder from
extracted nightly .zip file (last you've uesed and paste it on the rigth place using adb or rootexplorer
Sent from my MB525 red , froyo 2.2.2 german blurless service.sbf, as stock rom
thanks Bone for the answer, what is the right place to copy system / bootmenu?
I could try with the TWRP Recovery file manager
If you're have working twrp you can flash cwm recovery.zip or flash rom which contains cwm recovery
Sent from my MB525 red , froyo 2.2.2 german blurless service.sbf, as stock rom
thanks bone, I flashed CM 11 with TWRP recovery and everything went well, I'll try this rom and then after I will do a restore of the CM10

It is hard to kill but it's possible....
Throw in from 10m to asphalt ground,,
Over roll it with an airplain
Pull usb cable during sbf flash in the moment when rsd flashes the bootloader partition
Cheers
