[Q] Can't hangup or use buttons in call (cmod 11) - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I've got a used LG G2 with a broken display that I just replaced. Everything works with CyanogenMod 11 20140708-snapshot-m8-d802 (4.4.4), except for the dialer which acts up weird.
When I place or receive a call, the display turns black, and it doesn't come on again when I remove it from the face - seems like the light detector isn't working. I can turn on the diplay by using the power button though. Here another problem araises; I can't use any of the button on the dialer screen. I can't hang up, I can't enable the speakphone or show the numberpad. I haven't done any modding expect for installing a new rom and wiping the previous users' data.
Any ideas?

Sorry. I have the exact same problem. Began on PA 4.4.4+ and now back to stock and still does not work. Have you figured it out? Seems like a problem with the proximity sensor and no way to turn it off. Frustrating.

Sorry to hear that I ended up fixing it by hard resetting my phone with the software provieded by LG. I haven't installed a new custom rom since - instead I use the LG rom and customize it with the Xposed framework and the G2 Settings module. It works great, except for some random update notifications from the LG app store from time to time.
Not really a the solution that I has looking for, but now I can use the phone as it was intended. Please keep me updated if you come about some other workaround.

[Q] Unresponsive buttons & screen during and after call

I have tried multiple Android builds but all of them give the same problem.
Everything in Android works great except when receiving a call or calling.
The call is fine, but all buttons and the screen are unresponsive during the call and some time afterwards.
After a while everything is fine again without a reboot.
Sometimes adding a power cord and removing it gives back control as if it resets something.
Anyone experience similar issues and found a cure?
It's the light sensor, I've read that it can be disabled but I don't know how, just put yer phone under a very bright light source and u will be back up and running

[Q] Disable Proximity Sensor

Hi,
is there an option for android-HD2s to disable the proximity sensor? I'm sick of the behavior of my device that the screen doesn't turn on again after making a phone call, taking out battery isn't a very useful option...
I already tried the Recalibrator for the sensor (originally for DesireHD), it worked for a few days but now again i've got the problem...
Therefore i'd rather have the screen turned on during the phone call, than having a blocked phone after the call..,
Do you know a solution?

hi, I guess you are using Desire HD rom. If is so I fully understand you. Those build s avery big and laggy. After trying many, many rom s Iwent to this one>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931126
The screen turns on , everything work s fine. And it is crazy fast. Believe me, you will love android after this.
the best DHD Rom is Core Droid, in 1.3 the sensor was good, but in the actual 1.4 its bad again, try it when the next version is out. its very fast and nice skinned, also always good updates like the controls widget in the notifications bar.
Are we talking about the rom for hd2??is there anyone who can help us on the same problem?
I do this that way http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16008095&postcount=4

Screen going off during call or when call is over on G2 VS980

Hello, I have a problem with my LG G2 VS980 by verizon.
There are two problems depending on preloaded rom
1 The display shuts down immediately when call to someone. (after the conversation has will not turn on)
or
2 When someone call to me, after a conversation I can not unlock the screen (either the knock on, or by power button - appears on the screen and immediately turns off).
I've tested all the roms that are available. The one who runs without problem with the display there is a rom by HeatshiverSX - 4.3.1. The problem is that this rom has problem with the rotation of the screen.
Are you able to tell what's going on? Could someone help / advise? Thanks!
Anyone ?

Did you manage to solve it by now?
If not, it seems that @Bam9 manged to solve it by a firmware update as he reported here.
It seems that there are two similar issues in LG G2 which are both caused by the proximity sensor which causes screen and touch problems during conversations:
The screen stays on and the touch buttons in the dialer (speaker, add call, mute, etc...) aren't responsive.
(This issue was already reported by @athorax here)
The screen turn off and goes blank while in conversation.
(This issue was already reported by @madafis here)
In both of these situations the only quick way to end a call is to pull down the status and notifications bar and hang up from there.
Thanks to @Bam9 and @EtherBoo , who suggested to clear the proximity sensor from the outside and squeeze the top left corner of the phone, I tried to clean it and put some stress on it - and it worked!
I have a glass screen protector (which don't block the proximity sensor), and I am rooted and using CyanogenMod 11 ROM.
I used ioroot to root and AutoRec, which comes with TWRP 2.7.0.0, to install CyanogenMod ROM.
However, going back to stock ROM (in my case, LG G2 D802, it's D80220C) won't help since the issue still exists.
What I'm sure is that it was pretty much okay in the beginning, and the situation became worse and worse - occurring randomly, until it arrived to a situation in which I can't use the phone properly during conversation.
Now that I discovered that I can put some stress on the proximity sensor it seems that I have a hardware rather than a software issue.

[Q] In-Call dialer unresponsive...

So I have seen this issue on multiple forums, across multiple roms/devices, but can't seem to find any solution.
I have a LG G2 on VZW (VS980) currently running AOKP 5/24 nightly (but I have had this issue for months now).
When I make a call, the in-call dialer interface is completely unresponsive. I can't hang up, open the dial pad, speaker phone, mute, etc... the only way I can hang up is to hit the back navigation button and then pull down the notification and hang up that way. I am running PA micro gapps, but I have had the same problem with other gapps as well.
Does anyone else have this problem or has found a solution?
Bump. Really looking for any ideas on how to fix this.
I'm in the same boat here. Would really appreciate if someone could provide a fix.

I fixed my issues by flashing the "Google Dialer" in this thread
Same issue - can't use the touch keys in the dialer while in conversation in LG G2

Thanks a lot for posting your workaround.
I have exactly the same issue - I can't use the touch keys in the dialer while in conversation in LG G2 D802 (Intl).
However, the Google Dialer is an old app that got replaced by Hangouts Dialer.
Did you switch to Hangouts Dialer, or you stayed on KitKat 4.4.2 with the old Google Dialer from the post you provided?
By the way, I posted issue CYAN-6090 in the CyanogenMod JIRA in order to try and get resolution to this issue.
Are there any other users with this issue?
Did you solve it somehow?
note: sorry for not posting links. I have that annoying new user limitation...

[Q] Dialer problems: will dial but that's all, goes black

I have a problem with the dialer. This was my first time flashing a ROM and everything has worked smoothly, except this.
I can initiate a call fine. But once the call is going, the screen goes black and I can't do anything with the dialer. I have to place the phone flat on a bench to even be able to get a screen to come up after mashing buttons. It stays black otherwise, so it isn't using the proximity sensor as it should. In fact I also can't find anything in the ROM settings about using the proximity sensor.
Then even when I have the screen lit up, I can't input further numbers, hang up, anything - none of the soft buttons respond in any way.
Who'd think you use a phone for making phone calls? But I do need to sometimes, so this is pretty annoying.
The install was on a clean phone, with cache and Dalvik wiped too, with guidance from someone who flashes ROMs regularly.
I installed the stock GApps package from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2397942
But even if I install 3rd party diallers, they still seem to call up the dialer from the ROM.
Thanks.

Problem resolved: I clean installed C-ROM instead of Cyanogen Mod and everything is now working fine.
Something is pretty messed up in the current version of CM for the Note 3.
