I tried to flash an Android ROM last night, but I failed. I downloaded the sd card formatter and formatted my sd card, no luck. I got a black screen with blue words when I installing recovery. I want to stick my HD mini on the wall and turn it to a weather monitor device, but I don't want to push on/off button and wake up the screen each time. Is it possible to wake up screen by tape the screen or by automatically each time there is a light change? I knew some android apps can do it, but I have problem install android.
Thank you guys!

Hi - I've been lurking and trying some of the less intensive, flashing-not-required tweaks with success. But suddenly today, I'm having an issue.
My MDA/Wizard is all of a sudden frozen! I havent done anything to it since I got to work today (except blug it in to charge it) and on my way to work, it was operating fine - I watched some anime, read an ebook and listened to music with no problems.
What I've noticed:
- Signal light flashing, but cant get to phone app, doesn't ring when call comes in, gets a generic on-screen notification with no Call ID
- Screen frozen, can hear tapping noise, but nothing happens
- Goes to sleep mode and Power button can wake up as normal, but still frozen and Power button wont turn off device
- Buttons make noise when pressed, but no result
- Of all of the plug-ins (3) and built-ins (5) that are usually on screen, my Messages one has suddenly disappeared.
Today Screen:
*Date
*Owner
*Tasks
*Messages - GONE
*Agile Msgr
*SPB WMP plug in
*SPB Weather
*Device lock
The last thing that I installed was a .cab file from the Big All Tweaks Thread - it was the one that got the Caps/Fn indicator and "E"dge indicators on screen. But EVERYTHING was working after the install and til 15 min ago (14hrs total). I've soft reset about 6 times and even took out the battery with no luck. If I plug it into USB, it charges, but no recognition from AS.
Please help! I'm at work, my contacts and stuff are on home PC.
I'm running the original T-Mobile Rom and I'm not unlocked yet (I was trying to get up the nerve this weekend!)
Thanks in advance!
Hmm....no response?
I'm hope now...
I am beginning to wonder if my problem isn't related to the issue that pple seem to be having with the MDA zapping the SD card. I took out my card and then did a soft reset. My device is workign just fine with out it. Seems that if I put it bak in, there it goes freezing again.
The card seems fine when I put it in the reader, but if the MDA is having a problem with it, I'll be mighty vexed, as it is a week old 1gb card
If anyone has any imput, please chime in.....
I am wavering between trying to figure this out....or just going for it and updating my ROM while I'm going thru all of this anyway...
:nervous:
i have the same issues with about the same software loaded and freezes. to recover from the freeze, i press the reset button and while the phone boots up i press the phone "answer /hangup" buttons once or twice and it boots up.
i do notice something strange after a reboot- the programs on the 1gb sd card are no longer recognized. when i check file explorer, i can see the wizard has creadted a new file store location called 'Storage Card" and it has renamed my stoage card " Storage Card 2". All my files are then seen on "storage Card 2" but cannot be run.
i then deleted "storage card" and rebooted. the wizard then automatically renamned "sorage card 2" back to "storage card" and all my installed programs were ecognized and worked just fine. i suspect there is a bug in the OS regarding stogae card recognition at boot up . any ideas on this ?
thanks
Sorry if I'm not putting this in the right spot but, my friend got a Droid Incredible and some how his screen broke and he has no clue how. He gave it to me to try to get his data off, like pictures and so on but since nothing comes up on the screen I can't. Is there any command I can put in ADB to mount the phone? It didn't put his pictures on the SD Card, which I thought was odd, so I'm hoping it put them on the main phone storage, is there any way I can get into that so I can copy the pictures for him, they're from a family vacation he went on and really wants them. I know the phone still works because the soft buttons light up and when you hold the volume button and let go it beeps letting you know it's turned up, holding down it eventually vibrates letting you know it is now in vibration only. Could anyone help?
You don't need to use the touch screen to choose the mounting behavior if it's not saved in the settings.
If you plug the phone in, hit menu twice (to unlock the phone) and then scroll down twice on the optical pad(if screen was on you would be selecting the mount as disk drive option) click the optical pad (to select the option) then scroll down three times more on the optical pad( highlighting the done button) and click down.
If you did it correctly the phone should be mounted as a disk drive and you can get the data off. I tested this and the instruction is correct, this is assuming that you have not previously selected a behavior for the phone when it is mounted.
Hope it helps.
Or you could just hook up the phone and cd in to an empty folder on your comp then run "adb pull /emmc ." and yes that is a <space> then a period after /emmc.
I tested and this worked fine pulling my whole internal storage info off and on to my comp.
You could technically do this for any partition you wanted if he wanted to get his /data/data info off he could run it for that too.

I am experiencing a very similar issue. The screen often remains black, but the 'buttons' and screen touch seem to respond still. (Getting haptic feedback on the buttons and from some random-ish on-screen swiping.)
Sometimes I can get it to bootload screen. First time I wiped phone storage and rebooted, it worked for a few hours, then conked out again. Since then it has remained pretty much unusable. Occasionally I get the HTC screen to come up, or the bootload, and the next screen is a dim version of that screen with a bright horizontal bar across it.
One thing that makes me wonder a bit about battery here: the few times I've got it to come back up is usually when it's plugged in by USB and charging, and when I unplug it, the screen goes dim except for that same bright horizontal bar I mentioned previously.
Samsung Intercept
I have the exact same problem, but with the Intercept. Can anyone post a step by step guide to mounting or maybe post a video so I could follow blindly on my blackedout screen? Thanks.
hi,
i got new legend, its working fine, but i found something really so strange !
if my phone is on and i see the home screen..
i click power button (short normal press) the screen is off now ok ?
then, if i touch the screen with my finger its still off.. as usual
but the strange is when i touch it with a part of any cloth covered my finger,
the screen turns on and there is status bar msg noticing that memory Card is removed !!
i am sure of what i say i tried lot of times to wake up device with my finger on screen nothing happens, but when i use my finger covered with part of cloth to clean the screen like cleaning my sunglasses, the screen suddenly turns on !!
is the screen is kinda senstive with cotton/nylon clothes ? or electrostatics power that comes from clothes sometimes?
and is there anyone faceing same problem?!!!
sorry for any english mistakes
thanks ..
Never heard of such issue. Have you tried with different type of clothing?

Yes i tried it with Cotton and Linen, its annoing me, sometimes my screen is full of finger stamps, so i clean the screen using my glasses cloth cleaner, or my shirt or Tshirt using one finger "Thump" without any liquids, and i care not to touch any key , then when i rub it fast for 3~5 seconds (its like "alla aladdin's lamp!!) "the screen turns on sudenly with this msg "SD Card unexpectedly removed" ......... ???!!!! and if the music player is playing , it stops and tells same msg showing SD CARD big icon on screen !!
please all legend users try it and if u find same thing tell me, i want to know if its my phone mistake or its problem in the "HTC manufacture"..
You should send in your unit for warranty. I thinks its a faulty screen. Tried doing it with numerous kind of clothing but nothing happened. This couldn't be a software issue because its related to screen sensitivity.
well,
i shutdown phone then removed the SD momory card, i turn on phone again and i tried touching screen with cloth, nothing happend, the phone is ok..!
then i shutdown the phone and inserted the SD card again, when phone opend it couldn't recogonise the memory card it gave me this msg: "SD Card removed, please insert new one" (i donno is it normal when i remove SD? or its an issu?)
then i restarted phone, also re inserting SD several times till it works now.
i tried the touch screen cloth issu, and its gone ... !
I am windows mobile user i never tried android !
are such things happen normaly with SD cards in legend?
or is there a problem in the device ?
thanks for helping me..
Ok, so I have a new Nook Color with 1.2 stock. I booted it up registered it and then I used the manual rooter method. It seemed to root fine but when I started my nook color again it showed some new animation and then after that it wanted me to register it again with B&N. I tried to register but my nook color keyboard pops up and disappears again and will not let me enter any information. I tried reverting back to stock by the 8 failed boot methods but it still shows the new animation and the keyboard still acts the same way. I try using CWR but I cannot format and erase anything. So any clues?
Another question I have is I can use my Nook color with a SD card running Cynamod 7 and it works fine. My question is when I am running from the SD card can I take the card out while the nook color is on and put in another card with lets say music and such?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance
Stupid question: I've had problems on 2 different Nook Colors with "phantom clicks" where, if there is some residue on the screen, it will click there. It's possible that was happening on one of the fields, de-selecting it. Is your screen very clean?

Is / was it plugged into power or usb at the time? I've had plenty of occasions where heat from charging has played havoc with my screen, from complete unresponsiveness to phantom touches no where near where I wanted to touch? Second question....No clue, I run from EMMC.

No it is not plugged in
I have tried it unplugged, plugged in, plugged in to computer, unplugged from computer, cleaned the screen, used a stylus and still no help. The keyboard will pop open and then close. I think I really messed up my nook and will have to run it from SD card which android does run fine.
So since knowone has an answer is it possible to format the full partition on the nook color and then reinstall the original stock image. I tried reinstalling the stock image but that did nothing. I was just wondering if I can format the nook color that would get rid of all the images of rooting and such.
I'm having this exact same problem. Were you able to fix it?

Actually yes I was. I did the 8 failed boot and then after that I did reset to factory defaults by pressing and holding the power button and the n button while booting after a few seconds I released the power button and kept the n button pressed and it went in to a factory restore. It took a couple of tries.
Hope this helps

Firstly,
The end key sits right above the digitizer ribbon and when pressing the key the digitizer no longer makes contact with the screen. Thus rendering it to no longer work, it's fixed by remapping any other key to function as the power button or by replacing your screen.
Secondly,
You can not access your SD card while in android because the android system is running from the SD card, the SD card is already mounted for use by the system, it can not mount it again to be read and written to. I believe if you create two partitions then you can mount the second partition to be read and written to. Or I also think people have said the dual mount app on the market allows you to do what you want. Never tried it myself as I'm always running a nand version

thank you for the replay.
i went to a service today and the touchscreem is the problem. to repair it cost almost 80 $ so I've decided to give the phone back to the person I've buy it from.

You can fix it by repeatedly pressing the end key and the never pressing it again xP I've had this problem ever since I bought my hd2. Doesn't really bother me lol. Plus 80 bucks is pretty cheap, 50 for the screen and 30 for labor.

As a quick fix, I would bang my phone down on the table.
BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DO THIS JUST BECAUSE I SAID IT WORKED.
But, it worked for me.
