Very "crazy" issu happens with my legend ! - Legend General

hi,
i got new legend, its working fine, but i found something really so strange !
if my phone is on and i see the home screen..
i click power button (short normal press) the screen is off now ok ?
then, if i touch the screen with my finger its still off.. as usual
but the strange is when i touch it with a part of any cloth covered my finger,
the screen turns on and there is status bar msg noticing that memory Card is removed !!
i am sure of what i say i tried lot of times to wake up device with my finger on screen nothing happens, but when i use my finger covered with part of cloth to clean the screen like cleaning my sunglasses, the screen suddenly turns on !!
is the screen is kinda senstive with cotton/nylon clothes ? or electrostatics power that comes from clothes sometimes?
and is there anyone faceing same problem?!!!
sorry for any english mistakes
thanks ..

Never heard of such issue. Have you tried with different type of clothing?

Yes i tried it with Cotton and Linen, its annoing me, sometimes my screen is full of finger stamps, so i clean the screen using my glasses cloth cleaner, or my shirt or Tshirt using one finger "Thump" without any liquids, and i care not to touch any key , then when i rub it fast for 3~5 seconds (its like "alla aladdin's lamp!!) "the screen turns on sudenly with this msg "SD Card unexpectedly removed" ......... ???!!!! and if the music player is playing , it stops and tells same msg showing SD CARD big icon on screen !!
please all legend users try it and if u find same thing tell me, i want to know if its my phone mistake or its problem in the "HTC manufacture"..

You should send in your unit for warranty. I thinks its a faulty screen. Tried doing it with numerous kind of clothing but nothing happened. This couldn't be a software issue because its related to screen sensitivity.

well,
i shutdown phone then removed the SD momory card, i turn on phone again and i tried touching screen with cloth, nothing happend, the phone is ok..!
then i shutdown the phone and inserted the SD card again, when phone opend it couldn't recogonise the memory card it gave me this msg: "SD Card removed, please insert new one" (i donno is it normal when i remove SD? or its an issu?)
then i restarted phone, also re inserting SD several times till it works now.
i tried the touch screen cloth issu, and its gone ... !
I am windows mobile user i never tried android !
are such things happen normaly with SD cards in legend?
or is there a problem in the device ?
thanks for helping me..

Magician shuts down itself

My Magician decides a few times a day (5-10) that he wants to turn off itself. This means that de device is really in "off-mode", when I press the power button again you see the boot screen and you have to enter your SIM card code again. This also means that if my Magician has crashed people cannot contact me on my phone. Does anyone have suggestions how to solve this problem?
Tried so far:
1. Flashed the ROM and Radio to newest T-Mobile 1.13
2. Removed SD card, tried other cards
3. Changed the battery for an other one
4. Tried to use a button-lock program instead of switching off with the power button. Did not help, device is still switching itself of.
I have no warrenty anymore so hopefully someone has another suggestion for me? Thank you very much in advance.
this happened with my o2 mini too before and what i did is i open the battery cover at the back...then u will see on the right there is some small black stick which works as a sensor to detect whether the battery case is in place or not....i plugged Blue-tack from bostik in it and replace back the cover...now it never happened again...i guess the cover has been loosen out after some time...or u can use play doh substance or gummy composite.
Thank you very much for the tip dskarindra! I tried it with some duck-tape and now my Magician works like a charm again!
I have the same problem, but taping down the switch doesn't stop it. I can run the Jam without the back cover, so I know the switch is taped properly. Anyone have any ideas?
Replace the battery.
and clean the battery contacts on both sides

Please help !! Magician stuck at screen-alignment after hard-reset ...

Please help !! I've just performed a hard-reset on the Magician (the S100, by pressing the "on" and "reset" buttons together) and it now boots up to the point where it asks the user to align the screen, I mean it lets me click on the 4 corners of the screen (on the little cross) and keeps on accepting my clicks (I must have clicked already over 20-30 times around the 4 corners of the screen and it doesn't proceed to the next step ... what should I do ?? ... should I leave it without the main battery for a couple of hours or something ?? is there any other way to (completely) hard-reset the unit ?? (i.e. I've read in the past in some posts something about a "bootloader" sequence ??
Hello there,
You seem having some troubles on digitizer.
Try to clean it under the cover using a thick piece of paper like a business card.
Sometimes, if someting is between the cover and the digitizer; this will not work very well.
Pass it all over the four sides removing dust, hairs and so on..
Then try again.
Let me know
cheers
There's no other way to hard-reset 'more completely' ... you are already doing the complete hard reset.
It's obviously very weird. I would agree, to clean the screen completely and see if that does the trick. Also, use the original stylus with the pointy head and not a pen cover or something ... make sure you're accurate when aligning the screen.
You can enter the bootloader but it won't help you ... you can re-flash the ROM from the bootloaded but it doesn't seem like it's a ROM problem. It sounds like it's the screen HW problem.

It's a known issue. Sometimes a long press of the end-call button will bring up the display, but that's rare. It normally needs a soft-reset/battery out to reboot the phone.
It's obviously a software issue as the buttons light up when you press them, then turn off when they time-out, and then light up when pressed again, so the OS is still running happily in the background.
during my search and tries for applications and tweaks for the device, i remember i saw something that assign a display wake up on the long end press, and something that wake up on shaking the device, is there any confirmation if these tools solve this issue?

Nope - try them. You could be the hero that confirms it

Today was my turn to have that issue. Unfortunately :-(
I 've been looking for an answer, but there is no solution. Just a thread that talk about that the issue is caused by SD-card, corrupt files, formatting issue...
Please, do we have any solution for that issue? it started this morning and I have it 4 times today.

hmm. happened to me today. don't know what caused it.
I had this problem today as well for the first time. I thought it was to do with having the animated weather wallpaper and having rain. Today for the first time I had it predicting rain and my Leo kept saying "Loading touch sense" when coming out of lock. It's never done that before.
Then after an hour of lock it refused to wake, despite the physical keys lighting up.
I had this problem also today as well for the first time! But twice, so basically the first time and second time
First time phone wouldn't go on, touching the screen, hitting the spot where the lockslider was (in the dark), pressing short or pressing long on hard-buttons. The phone didn't respond at all.
Second time the hard-keys would light up, but phone refused to wake.
I had this problem.
Solution: Download an app called MemMaid and use the settings in post #75:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596484&highlight=settings&page=8
For me it was the Disable Auto Device Lock.cab (in combination with windows exchange server) that caused the frequent HD2-doesn't-wake-up problem.
I uninstalled it and it is working fine again.
Have a look here, the exact same problem was discussed :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5386344#post5386344
Aaargh. Just happened to me again. So that's twice today.Locked it with Opera open. Went to toilet. Came back and Leo wouldn't come back. Again the physical keys were lighting, but the screen stayed dark.
I'm running standard ROM that came with phone, 1.48.405.2 and then official hot fixes on top. Only using apps that came with the phone too.
Not done any tweaking besides cosmetic through the standard phone options.
guys let's try to focus here, we all have/had this issue. So let's try to remember what's the last things we dis so we can find the common cause so we can identify it.
Well I said in my post above, I read (don't remember where! ) that the problem is related to the microSD card.
Was logical for me, because I kept copying, deleting, copying tow large files large files in parallel, I mean I stressed my microSD. By the way it's the one provided by HD2 with the copilot in it.
What I've done, is that removed the microSD for a while and there were no freeing again for like 4 hours, and it was with screen off for like 1 hour and half, come back from the fitness, and it's ok.
Once back home, I backed up all my MicroSD to my computer, then formatted it with HD2. After that I copied back all my data to my micrSD. So far so good.
hint: what's the official SD Card Storage Cards hotfix from HTC for?

display turned white

hi all
my htc touch elf (P3450) display turned to white with black patch at one place & some lines all of a sudden. it was working all fine. i was charging when a call came. i disconnected recieved the call. after that the screen turned white
Tried restarting but no result.
I can hear the notification of a message coming. but no ringing tone when i tried calling from other number
Please bail me out.
regards
Hardreset could be the solution
not resolved
i cannot see anything on the screen except white screen with black patch.
i tried hard reset with imaginary screen but not resolved
i see no visible screen cracks
how to check if screen is crack?
It may be that the LCD is cracked, thats what it sounds like to me, anyways. Check the connector as well though to make sure it is all connected correctly.
The white with black patch does sound broken to me though (Sorry!)
Stu
Hi Stu, I just received my friend's ELF. His display turn white, but the device still be able to receive phone call. trying to enter bootloader, all I get is white screen with some black-horizontal-thin lines. Tried to hard reset, now it seems the device is on phone setup position so I can not get anything.
Is this LCD issue? Could it be broken? FYI, before this happen, there's already one dead pixel on the screen.
BTW...is it possible that upgrading to cooked ROM can bring LCD broken? may be, unsuitable ROM?
regards,
Bom81
Not sure if flashing a cooked rom would kill the screen - although I would say thats very unlikey.
It does sound like the sceen is broken, theres one way to find out - If you don't mind giving it a go - you could always try your screen quickly in his phone - I'd imagine you're fairly familiar with the internals by now
(I do have a spare screen laying around now - JTAG is no longer able to pick up my bricked elf at all - full battery etc how I was doing it no longer works - guess it is dead for sure now!)

Hahaha..LOL, Today I did want to put my LCD on my friend's elf. but I forgot to bring the opening tools to my office. guess I'll do it tomorrow and see how it goes. I'll let you know after my experiment with this thing.
A little bit Of Topic on this thread, I think so, your device has problem
so even the JTAG method will not be able to connect to the processor. Too bad you're in england, otherwise, the spare screen could be very useful here. LOL
UPDATE
ok..confirm the LCD is broken. I've changed the LCD with mine, and the device is working fine. i guess the dead pixel is the cause of the problem.
Should be able to find one cheap enough on ebay - I do seem to find it cheaper to buy another faulty one (maybe even bricked) as long as the screen is working
Need help on my HTC Touch
Hi Guys,
I really need your help badly. I have an HTC Touch (Elfin), I presume (128/256MB). The problem is i have downloaded the official windows mobile 6.1 rom and extracted the .exe file using Winrar. After which, i copied all the files to the sd card and renamed the .nbh file to ELF0IMG as instructed in the forum.
I put back the sd card and pressed the camera button and the power button at the same time. When it booted up it says reading from SD card and I can see that it is extracting the roms and ext roms. Afterwhich, there was a progress bar and then soon after a while screen turned to blue and then white. Currently now, as I am tying this the screen is still white. Please advise me asap in what to do? Thank you very much.

Ur display screen has been broke as simple as that..
Ok. Here is the thing.
I've droped my phone down, straight on the screen, no problems. 5 minutes later, when my brother was trying to play on it the screen turned white, with no stripes.
After 1 month i even forgot i had an htc, found it in my office drawer, and i thought of reinstalling the rom. But before that i pushed very hard on the screen, i took the battery out, pushed it in the battery space and after i started it worked like a charm.

[Q] Touch screen intermittently wont work from lock screen.

I have the WP7 installed. No dual boot.
I have a password protected lock screen, and every once in awhile, the touch screen wont work, so I can't slide up and put in the password. If I hit the windows button in the middle, it kinda bounces for a second, then goes dark again.
It happened yesterday too, and the only way I fixed it was to turn it off, take out the battery and then turn it back on again.
When the touch screen works, it works fine. It's perplexing.
Anyone else have this problem?
Yes, but I only have to tap on the screen and the touch screen is working again and I can slide up the screen. Had this happen with both of the builds I've used so far.
This didn't work for me. My phone's been locked all night.
Hmm, not really sure what it could be. Check with whoever built the rom you are using, they may have a better solution. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Its a hardware problem, not software, i had the same problem the solution is to change touch screen, try to press touch near red button for same time it can help, but not for long time.
Sorry for me english)
Common problem. Your touch screen is fried (or is in the processing of frying). Start the warranty process now.
fried? dunno mate, when my touch screen goes on the blink i sweep a finger in the opersite direction to what i usually do then try again straight after, so forinstance, at the lock screen i try up and it doesnt work, so i try down then up and that usually fixes it, same for the tile screen, if it wont work as i sweepleft, i sweep right then left.
this doesnt happn on android which i would think rules out an overall hardware fault, at least for me anyway, it is however hardware related, the HD2 shouldnt have WP7, the drivers are not designed for our device so expect these odd happenings.
Of course its equally likely that this could be another sign of the pain in the arse SD card issues some of us suffer, reflash and try a new SD card and see what happens.
Man its realy problem of touch screen because it breaks in zone of red button, and when you press it some times it goes ok, and works wery well, but it die from now, replace the touch or it will die in few - weeks- days.
i would seriously get that accusation backed up by some proof before someone does something they didnt need to do.
I have random unresponsive screen issues that are directly related to the install of WP7 it does not happen on android or WM, there for its not hardware, at least in my case, its driver
