CPU Type? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it me or is anyone else having different readouts of what CPU they have in their RAZR M? Antutu says that I have A snapdragon MSM8260A but then CPU-Z says that its a MSM8960DT. Weird. Anyone else have the same issue?

MSM8960DT was released much later than the Razr M. MSM8260A is wrong too. It's an MSM8960.
But actually that's the chipset and not the CPU.

Thank you for the correction and the into

Actually android does support dual core. Quadrant does NOT bench both cores, just one. If you'd like a multi core bench I recommend smart bench 2011.

nearly same specs as Nexus 4.
Nexus 4 has been confirmed to have MDM9215 baseband per official kernel source. Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33645116&postcount=142
Hmm, really? That MDM 9215 chip supports LTE... http://www.qualcomm.com/chipsets/gobi
And again my question, which phones else have the MDM 9215 base band chip?

Ubuntu

So who will be the first to port this to dinc. Looks cool and would try it out when available.

Dosen't ubuntu require a dual core processor?
It requires a cortex-A9. Technically there could be a single core A9 but as the A9 is a lot faster than the Snapdragon (scorpion core), there will be a lot of stuttering I expect.
And what is the point of who will be the first to port x product to y device posts? It doesn't really serve any purpose.
Personally, I don't think this port is going to even happen.
Ok was curious. Didn't know it needed certain specs.

Snapdragon 800 or 801

Hi I was running an antutu benchmark test and in the device information section. It listed my processor as a snapdragon 800 the thing is that every spec sheet I find says that it's a snapdragon 801 I should have under the hood. Is antutu wrong? Or do I really have an 800?

3D Benchmark shows it as an 801, must be an antutu bug.

Might be problem of Antutu. Also consider that, Snapdragon 801 is overclocked version of Snapdragon 800. May be that's why it's showing 800.

[Q] Will this device get CM 12 support?

Sent from my C2105 using XDA Free mobile app
Maybe. I dunno.
Sent from my XT907 using XDA Free mobile app
Okay, because I have a low range smartphone (Xperia L) which already has CM12 support, not officially but the actual version has no bugs.. Is it possible to port the rom?
Sent from my C2105 using XDA Free mobile app
It is possible but the chip set makes it very difficult. We may never see it much like the tab 3 never saw cm11 fully working.
Sent from my XT907 using XDA Free mobile app
Is it because of the marvell chipset? If so will the 8" and 10" variants get it because they are not marvell?
Yes, it is because of the Marvell processor and yes the 8 and 10 inch are more likely.
Sent from my XT907 using XDA Free mobile app
Ok thank you for the info. Hopefully we get cm11 on the 8.0 and 10.0 atleast seeing as I own the 8.0
