Many of us know that the back cover of Moto E is slightly loose. Motorola has acknowledged the same problem as it is manufacturing defect and they are giving free back cover (of the same colour) to all those who complain about it to flipkart.
Here are the steps to do it..
1) Go to My orders section of Flipkart.
2) Select the Moto E order, then click on "Contact Us" option
3) Select "Problem with item received" and then "I'm not satisfied with fit/colour"
4) Select your Order ID which you had used to order Moto E
5) Use "CHAT" option (Monday - Sunday: 10.00 AM - 07.00 PM IST)
If "CHAT" option is not available, choose E-mail option.. Otherwise use this link to chat with the executive Flipkart Live Chat
6) Take out back panel of your Moto E and note down the Revision Number and Cavity Number at the back side of the back panel (side which is facing towards battery).
7) Executive will ask for the Revision number and cavity number, ask him to wait for 2-3 minutes (so that he thinks that you are actually taking your time to check the numbers)
8) After that executive will say that they will ship the new back cover in 2-3 days..
NOTE:
Revision Number is mentioned on back cover inside a hall mark kind of symbol in capital Alphabet.
Cavity Number is in this format (F14) below the Revision Number.
ALL THE BEST!! :good:

same here, they sent me back cover which is loose too, i called up and they say that you can go for refund but since i have already bought a case which fits properly i have decided to use moto e
Hmm Saurabh some credits dude !!
Same with me...after few days the replacement is also getting lose
So I guess there is a problem with the design of phone itself
Better to get a TPU case or back cover.

I have a feeling dealing with Asus will be a long and drawn out process but that's just an assumption.

To whom did you send?
I had to send it back to Asus. I purchased it from Sams Wholesale Club they refused to replace it even when I purchased a service plan from them....lesson learned....never by anything electronic from Sams... ! I couldnt go to Google since I didn't purchase it from them...thus leaving the manufacturing company Asus. The sad part is it came today but my FedEx deliverer could not leave it at it my house because Asus required a signature....and I was not home. Well all I can say is thanks Asus!

Did you have to pay to have the screen replaced? I just got off the phone with Asus support and they said they want $160 to fix it. Thing is, I bought it off a guy I work with for the same price! I'm kinda in a dilemma.

nope I did not....I think it is all in what u tell them, how long you had your device and if there are visible marks on the device... Mine had no marks at all on it. Also...they asked me what happened....I explained... And then they sent me the RMA form via email....so it is not like they gave me a price before I sent it....then like I said I got an email saying that my tablet was being shipped back to me a week later.
Sorry I cant be of more help

Is RMA like swapping out a faulty device for a new one through Google? How does it work? If my screen just one day doesn't turn on after having the phone for 6 months will they replace it for free? Do they send you a new device then you send your faulty one back? Or vice versa?

OK. In the UK, you ring Google Play, they send you an email with an RMA attachment and create a special order for you in your google wallet. You then order your new device and they take an authorisation on your card (they dont actually take the money, just "allocate" it to them, should you not return your faulty device), then they send you a new device and you send your old faulty one back to them within 21 days using their free TNT service that comes in the bag with your new replacement device.
So...
1) Ring google, they give you RMA attachment to print out
2) Order your device through the special order they have set up for you
3) Ensure you have a card with money on it so they can allocate it as security
4) When new device arrives, you have 21 days to return the old one to them (with the RMA you printed off in step 1) or they will take the allocated money off your card.
Hope it helps

No problem mate
EDIT: I should add that they will allocate the full cost of the handset until they receive the old one back. Then they will release that "hold" on that amount within 14 days (In reality they have released the hold on all three of my RMA devices before they even received the device back)
If you have got a cracked back for example, they will still exchange it, but they will bill you the cost of the smashed glass back.
Little chips and scratches they are not bothered about as the phones go to be refurbed, so as long as the back and front are "unsmashed" you will get all your money no sweat.

No, my USB port was acting faulty on the one I have now.
^ Fair enough.. I am shocked to see they are replacing the device even after 6 months of ownership to the customer. Seems like that 15 day return policy turned into 1 year return policy after their disastrous launch!

It's not like you lose money... They just place a hold for $400 on the credit card. Once they receive the defective phone, they remove the hold. It never goes out from your account.

My daughter just dropped her less than a week old phone in the grass and somehow managed to fracture the glass at the top where the camera is. Of course, no insurance. She found a replacement part for a reasonable price. I'm just wondering what is involved in replacing it.

All I can really find is the tear down which doesnt show the removal of that back glass. The way it looks though is that if you hit it with a heat gun you may be able to pry off... here's the tear down if you haven't saw it yet http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=G0dKEaIEqYY&desktop_uri=/watch?v=G0dKEaIEqYY

I agree, it seems like it's glued on... I'm just not sure how decent it will look when the new glass is on and the glue re-sets.
It would look better than shattered glass, at any rate.

Reminds me of the time I was out on my mountain biking and got cold hands so pulled my gloves out , at the same time my phone also came out.
Hit the concrete did at least 30 flips and slid across the floor 10 to 20 feet.
I walked over to it expecting the worst. There wasn't a single scratch on it . The case had stood up proudly.( cheap one )
Then I read on this forum that folks have smashed the back glass just by putting it in there jeans pocket.
Seems like some devices maybe have a better build quality then others.
We must be the lucky ones.
Also from the U.K maybe they ship better phones here . Ha ha
