[Guide] [How-to] Disable Battery Cover & Charging Cover Toasts
This guide is based on the Galaxy S5 deodexed rooted build.
This disables both the battery cover and the charging/usb cover toast messages.
Decompile system/app/PopupuiReceiver.apk.
Edit res/values/bools.xml.
Change true value to false in the line below:
Code:
<bool name="display_battery_cover_popup">[COLOR="Blue"]false[/COLOR]</bool>
Notes:
This should also resolve the battery cover toast from appearing for a split second after a reboot and the screen is unlocked.

I removed the battery cover today and noticed a switch with the padlock open/closed symbol.
There's no description of this in my manual.
Does anyone know what it does?
Thanks
When locked, it locks the battery in place and switches the device to use the main battery. When unlocked, it switches to backup battery to maintain memory contents (for a SHORT while - supposedly about 20 min.) while the battery is removed.
Make sure it is in the correct position while the battery is in place or you will get an unintended hard reset when your backup battery goes flat.
Thanks for that.

Click to collapse
Settings > Power Saving > Display battery percentage
That's in your Power Save settings.

The default charging screen for Nexus 4 when the device is powered off does not display the battery percentage. I am aware of Nomorepowah but this project is dead. Is there any way to change this screen to display the battery percentage?
Nexus 4 running CM 12.1 with Xposed
I can't post an image or url of the charging screen as I don't have enough posts.
No bites so far.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to achieve this or how other phones and ROMs achieve this?
Get working root on your phone first, you will need to be on marshmallow. The guide is on this vibe x3 forums.
I believe the root of our problem lies with the new peel remote which has severe battery drain which is also a system app which means not removable unless rooted. Just use an alternative to the ir remote.
1. Download System app remover (root)
2. Uninstall peel remote there are 2 entries on the list.
3. Download Xposed installer then install
xposed through the app selecting install through recovery.
4. Download amplify battery extended
5. Install through exposed and restart.
6. Go to the wakelock tab and on all the safe to limits you will need to manually click each of them and toggle the off disable in the settings menu.
The reason for disabling the wakelock is because after android nougat wakelock have been optimized in marshmallow the wakelocks were never optimized.
Managed to bring down mAh usage by 200 for both screen on and screen off.
Further battery tips if your phone battery seems to drain super fast or your USB device is not recognized, you need to swap your cord out.
Disable vibration on your android keyboard and nav keys through settings it chews battery.
If you are charging using an unofficial charger and your phone gets laggy while charging, then it is not charging properly.
Best to use a good USB cord any will work as long as ur computer can recognize your phone with it and the official lenovo charger.
This is for Lineage OS forgot to put that in the title
Tested on LOS 15.1
I created automate flow that allows turning:
1) Turning on, or off the efficiency mode.
2) Setting the efficiency level. (from the notification area)
3) Shows Status Icon that is a bolt when The Moto Mod Battery is being used, or a battery icon when it is not. the notification will go away if there is no mod battery connected. It will reappear when the mod battery is put back in.
4) It shows the Moto Mod battery capacity percent in the notification area just like the original OS used to.
5) It shows the Moto Mod Battery status Eg. Full, Charging, Not Charging, Discharging
The delay loop is set to 5 seconds but can be changed from the automate editor.
Version 1.3:
Changed: Delay to 5 seconds
Fixed: Failed to Read capacity due to sleep state, failed state persisted once awake as well
Version 1.2:
Fixed: Phone Not Charging from Charge Port
Added: Icon will now show a power plug when Mod Battery is charging
Version 1.1:
Fixed: Efficiency Toggle Bug
Fixed: Phone Not Charging from Mod Battery When Efficiency Enabled
Version 1.0: Initial Release
