Get working root on your phone first, you will need to be on marshmallow. The guide is on this vibe x3 forums.
I believe the root of our problem lies with the new peel remote which has severe battery drain which is also a system app which means not removable unless rooted. Just use an alternative to the ir remote.
1. Download System app remover (root)
2. Uninstall peel remote there are 2 entries on the list.
3. Download Xposed installer then install
xposed through the app selecting install through recovery.
4. Download amplify battery extended
5. Install through exposed and restart.
6. Go to the wakelock tab and on all the safe to limits you will need to manually click each of them and toggle the off disable in the settings menu.
The reason for disabling the wakelock is because after android nougat wakelock have been optimized in marshmallow the wakelocks were never optimized.
Managed to bring down mAh usage by 200 for both screen on and screen off.
Further battery tips if your phone battery seems to drain super fast or your USB device is not recognized, you need to swap your cord out.
Disable vibration on your android keyboard and nav keys through settings it chews battery.
If you are charging using an unofficial charger and your phone gets laggy while charging, then it is not charging properly.
Best to use a good USB cord any will work as long as ur computer can recognize your phone with it and the official lenovo charger.

friends I give some tips to those who complain of the Ram & The wear of the battery:
1) Use The Gemini App Manager (free on google play) and from blocking the autorun all unnecessary applications
2) Get in the recovery mode and delete the statistics of the battery, then charge your phone off to 100%,
3) then without disconnecting it, Light it. and use this application (Battery Calibration) (google free play) and calibrate your device, then disconnect the charger.
4) use until it is 100% downloaded, and when you give your next load before loading open this application (battery dr. repair) (payment is playstore) loading until the application tells them completely.
5) from now on, use it to have 20% of battery, and then off without interrupting Please charge to 100%, to meet the proper charge cycles the battery, and thanks to gemini app manager. their applications will consume no ram, no wake up the phone when in locked screen, and save a lot of battery.
Other Tips:
1) If your phone temperature rises, let it rest and then continue using it. (Measure the temperature with this app: Battery Doctor Save (Free on google play) If over 38 º, leave to cool, use it consistently below that temperature.
2) Try not to overclock & use roms that have good performance and are well optimized for the use of the battery.
3) Make undervolting helps in some cases to save battery, but is problematic to start the device and in some applications like (Link2SD) because the CPU does not have the necessary energy to work properly and load the application at startup.
4) Try not to leave the device near appliances or products with magnets or magnetic waves, as these discharge the battery faster too.
5) try manter your device away from humid places, or away from the sun (or intense heat) as this can also damage the hardware, plus the battery life
6) if possible .. try not to forcibly remove the battery when the device is turned on .. (if phone is lag, wait for answer) only in extreme cases that do not respond. if you remove the battery there .. and wait at least 1 minute before replacing it.
7) not to use task managers to remove applications, since some applications required (for more than the closures, it will return to open, eg playstore) instead, cerralas manually. or use any task manager that let choose which applications fail to remove (eg, the administrator who brings go launcher prime) (and blacklist those that are necessary and you know it will return to open), pressing the button "clean" .. (Thanks to @korrectmethod)
8) where possible, keep off (Wifi-GPS-Data Synchronization-3G-trafficking funds - Google location services) when not needed. and maintain screen brightness (medium or low) (thanks to @korrectmethod)
Thanks for the Tips. I will take note
Thanks for the tips.
thanks for the tips :good:
thanks for the tips :good: by the way could u explain the 4th step again, did u mean to use the battery till its completly dead and fully charge it again and using this carnglo application
Good list for people newer to android.
AFAIK wiping battery stats isn't necessary as its auto wiped every time you fully charge your phone.
Also, the lipo battery in phones don't really have "memory" like say a ni-cad battery would have.
Be careful with some tasks managers because the way android handles ram, it might hurt your battery by having a service always running and scanning tasks.
The overall best thing you can do is keep brightness down, turn off data/wifi/sync/GPS when you aren't using it, and turn off Google location services when not needed.

mmm .. can someone re-explain the 4th tip please
Some say battery calibration is a myth, I'm quite sure it works!
You can give that a try after flashing a new rom to improve your battery life! :victory:
(the guide is tested but still i'm not responsible for any demage to your phone)
1. you need a recovery to access a specific file
twrp works
2. you need the xposed app: disable low battery warning (or a likely name)
(for that you can fully dischage your phone)
3. you need a battery discharger app this one: Fast discharge
(for that you can faster discharge)
4. you activate the xposed app and discharge your battery with the app (set the app to discharge to 0%)
(i wouldn't activate the light or the vibration since i don't know if they can overheat for discharging the battery)
5. set the governor to performance to have a faster discharge
6. your phone will kind of be fully discharged and just turn off at maybe 5% battery or later
7. charge your phone just plug it in until it's 100%
(i couldn't boot like that to the system so i had to reconnect after 100% charging which isn't the right way to calibrate battery)
(so if you can then boot whilst charging or plug back in after booting on 100% quickly)
8. enter the recovery and search for this file:
> /data/system/ batterystats.bin
then reboot
thats all!
More info about the myth here. I only calibrate my bat when I feel it needs to be calibrated, even being a myth:laugh:
P.S: or you can download a battery calibration app from Playstore.
The myth of "calibrating the battery makes it last longer" was dispelled by Google's own engineers. All calibrating the battery does is wipe the battery statistics file that keeps the usage history you see in settings. This is something that happens when the device nears 100% charge anyway so its pretty much useless to do it.
As for "the right" way to calibrate the battery, the OP clearly has no idea what he's talking about... its the battery usage history file, there are 2 ways to delete it - manually or just charge the battery to 100%, neither of those does any harm to the device and neither is better than the other seeing as this whole thing of calibrating the battery is utter nonsense.
To which end I don't really see a reason or need for this thread.
My Galaxy S5 was experiencing extreme battery drain, even while not in use and in my pocket.
After a bit of searching, it turns out I'm not alone. So I thought I'd share my potential fixes to this problem. Your solution may be different to others, so try each one until you find your battery works as good as it should, like mine now does.
Attached is what my battery drain looks like after these 3 tips, even during heavy use.
If you have any extra possible solution, then please post them.
Problem: Android 4.4.2 bug: When location is enabled it causes extreme battery drain. Because it doesn't let the phone sleep.
Solution: Turn off location services until a patch is released.
Problem: Quick Connect not allowing the phone to sleep.
Solution: Root your phone, and either delete or move the APK files: QuickConnect.apk & QuickConnectInteraction.apk from /system/app to somewhere else, such as a disabled folder.
Problem: Skype bug causing battery drain.
Solution: Uninstall Skype until a patch is released.
Hmmm that's strange, my S5 has the best battery life i've ever had on a phone.
I'm pretty sure you turn on the Always ready to connect in Quick Connect that causes thw device unable to sleep.

That wasn't working for me. No matter what I did, my battery was being demolished so that I had 50% 3 hours off-charge. Now I get so much more.

I was getting the battery drain and slow charging. Removed and reinstalled Google Search and that fixed the battery charging. I couldn't figure out the battery drain so I simply factory resetted it and it has been great since. I am at 30 hours since my last charge and still have 50% to go, with light use.

You say removing the Google Search fixed you problem with the slow charging of your device ?!? I have noticed that my device charges very slow connected to an USB3.0 port...it only charges with 450mA.

I agree. Almost 90% of the time battery drain is user error

Backlight keys use very little power
I also use a lockscreen that changes backgrounds (Travel Wallpaper) and have gestures on at all times and my last charge lasted 48 hours and still had juice left . Although what you mentioned above might impact battery drain but only a little and wouldnt cause you to seek answers for poor battery life .Best solution is see whats keeping your phone awake (wakelock)

That can be right, most USB 3.0 ports on laptops and computers do not provide more than 500mA.
For fast charging always use the wall charger. When using the original charger that came with your phone and the original cable (USB 3.0 compatible) your device can pull the full 1800 mA from the charger, since it can sense that the charger is able to handle this safely. When you use a USB 2.0 compatible cable it will only pull 1200 mA from the charger, even if it's an original Samsung wall charger.
I had serious battery problems with my S5 too, battery drained within 8-16 hours. After I removed Skype problems seemed to be solved.
I've had the same problem battery drain only 15 hours I have turned few wifi settings off
Smart network - off
Keep wifi on during sleep - changed to only when plugged in (would have thought this would be default)
Always allow scanning - off
network notifications - off
Hope this helps someone last 2 hours only lost 1-2%

Ok. I am using now this kernel ktoonsez KT-SGS5 and with a normal USB2.0 cable I get 1000mA from my USB3.0 port and get 1800mA from my wall charger.

Cool, that means in this kernel some of the original power management restrictions have been removed. It would be interesting to see if the limit on charging via the contact points on the back of the phone (used for Qi wireless charging and by car mounts like Mountr that use inductive charging) now als can accept more than 750 mA...
Pretty tired of horrible battery life? Well, I've found a convenient solution for you.
Some tips:
-Download Greenify and enable Doze mode. This is a new generation power saving mechanism, which is way more intelligent than conventional mechanisms.
-Open up Play Store and disable all services, which enables automatic update checking and etc.
-This is a big one - disable Active display inside Settings app.
-Intelligently select between different battery modes. This won't bring a significant battery life difference, but it should be enough to be noticed.
-Download proper MM Gapps, since most of them are broken and in the end those will drain your battery quickly.
-Check your progress using Wakelock Detector and post them here for our convenience. This is a place, where problems are solved.
Posting this in hopes someone has advice—been searching but still nothing that addresses this issue.Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e (SM-T720)
Rooted with Magisk 19.3 > Manager 7.3.2
Riru - EdXposed v0.4.5.1_beta (4463) (YAHFA)
PROBLEM The battery is NOT charging (sometimes) even though other monitoring methods show it charging. The system is showing decreasing charge % even though 3C and other apps are showing it charging. The system makes the 'charging sound' when plugging and unplugging.
FYI, I did let the battery 'fully' discharge once—accidently—but that was days ago, and have fully charged it several times since.
HERE'S SOME DETAIL Battery
- charges when powered off
- charges when rebooted, until screen unlocked
- charges SOMETIMES even after screen unlocked
- multiple apps and system status bar recognize whether or not it's plugged in and indicate charging--at the same time, Ampere app & Settings > Battery recognize being plugged in, but DISchargingFrom these findings it seems to me that it's a 'battery control file' issue. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know the correct terminology, or even if I'm right, but I'm pretty sure (hopeful?) this can be fixed with a few changes to a few files.
Might have to start uninstalling, in order, Xposed Modules > Xposed > Magisk, reflashing ROM but don't want if I don't have to.
Any pointers much appreciated.
Magisk Manager 7.3.2 was causing problems. Older *and* newest (7.3.3-a6126c5e) work fine.
Thanks everyone
