Hello,
I am having problems getting Timur's kernal to install. I have rooted my nexus 7 first generation, and I have teamwin recovery v2.6.3.1 installed, and I have installed something so that when I go to settings/about tablet/ I see
Android version
4.2.2
Kernal version
3.1.10-gba06546-dirty
[email protected]#24
Build number
Jdq39
Where do I go from here? I have been fighting with this for a long time and I could sure use a hand figuring out the next step.

Hi guys, need some help here. I bought a BNIB Nexus 7 8GB off craigslist and it turns out it's some kind of pre-production/demo unit. It runs smooth and does exactly what I need it to do but there are some minor annoyances in the system and it'd be great if I can load a stock rom onto it. Does anyone know how I can update the SW so it'll be running stock rom? I've tried the "Flash Stock + Unroot" option in Nexus Root Toolkit but when the DOS menu pops up it just fails everything and gets stuck in fastbook. I had to do a hard reset to boot it back up and nothing changed. If someone can give me a hand here that would be wonderful.
Here's some info in "About Tablet":
Android Version: Jellybean
Kernel Version: 3.1.10-00002-gcb40deb (Dated May 8th)
Build Number: nakasif-userdebug JellyBean JRN38 349871 dev-keys
You got a dev ROM.
Flash stock nexus image and you're golden.
Will the next nexus have a longer screen?
I just got my Nexus7 yesterday and i have been reading alot about rooting, but there are still some questionmarks before jumping in.
I want to install Paranoid Android 2.2 and im confused:
1. Do i need to update to 4.1.2 before or just skip it alltogheter?
2. Should i wait for the Toolkit V3.4.0 or just use the V3.2.0?
3. Do i need to update the bootloader to the latest one, 3.41?
Hello all,
I have the GT-I9505 LTE it's been rooted and has the following setup:
Android 4.2.2
Baseband I9505XXUAMDM
Kernel:
3.4.0-526204
[email protected] #1
Fri April 26 KST 2013
Build: JDQ39.I9505XXUAMDM
Recovery: Philz
I messed it up and basically it wouldn't boot, I then just decided to start from scratch.
However this stock rom is crashing all the time, often I have to boot into recovery first and it's battery drains rapidly!
Now, I need to flash it again I think but don't know how to proceed, I'm guessing I use one of the pre-rooted roms from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824
But what one? Also will the roms on the other mentioned thread have built in support to move apps to sd
I kinda regret installing philz recovery now as most roms warn me not to use it! So to summarise I just want the phone to be empty and rooted with CWM. Then I will go about getting either Paranoid Android or CM when I feel there is a stable enough release
I'm getting mad confused!
Any help would be appreciated and if this is in the wrong section, I do apologise and can a mod please move it.
Thanks

You are right about that rom link in your post, it can be very confusing for sure.
If I were you I would first get the phone back to a stable state before doing
anything else.
What I would do is to Odin flash the official stock I9505XXUAMDM firmware
which you can find here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252982
The above link has easy to follow step by step instructions and the download link for the
SamMobile official Odin flash stock rom as well as the windows Odin software.
After flashing the stock odin flash rom the phone will need to be re-rooted.
Good luck!
Just thought I'd post back with my update, seems my battery was faulty so that might have been the issue, anyhow back to stock and all working good
Time to mod again I guess haha cheers

Hi all,
I just found my old Nexus 7 (2012 model) in a dresser drawer and decided to bring it up to speed. Currently it is running what appears to be a stock (maybe debloated) 4.4.2 with root and multirom. Recovery is TWRP for multirom. I was using multirom to run Ubuntu just for kicks, but have lost interest in that project, plus it now appears to no longer be supported. Now what I want to do is just flash one of the nougat based roms and call it good. When I try to add nougat as a second rom I get errors relating to E: not existing, it then deletes everything that just started to install. Posts I've seen in other hardware forums point to maybe the install script being wrong for multiboot. Is there any weight to this idea?
I want to run one of the new roms as a secondary first to see how well it works before flashing it for good. Am I missing something stupid here? I haven't messed with any of this stuff since I switched to Verizon and could really use some help.
I don't really need the multiboot option, but since I've gained it I'm a little slow to want to give it back up. Would it be easier for me to just reload the bootloader, recovery, etc, take it back to stock and start over?

Is the support of Multiroms dead or do they plan a patch for nougat later when it get more mainstream? I am currently running dirty unicorn 7.0 since I just got my screen and would like to have older build for compatibility issue.

If you wan Android 7 on your Nexus 7 2010 you can't use MultiROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011403&page=316
Without MultiROM you can use this Android 7 ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-7/development/rom-lineageos-14-1-nexus-7-2012-t3530261
I have the zenfone 2 laser. In settings.. About phone.. It says asus z00td. When Googling for info it appears there are alternate model names like ze551kl. Are these 1 and the same or is my only model number z00td?
Also i have flashed many roms but it's been a while.
I'm running Android 5.0.2. I wish to switch to lineage os. I don't care what version. Android 6 or 7 is fine. I have twrp and know how to use it.
Are these the proper steps to do so?
1. Download lineage os rom zip (from where exactly? See model number question above)
2. Download gapps
3. Reboot and backup And then wipe in twrp
4. Flash rom, then, flash gapps
5. Reboot, profit.
I seem to remember from before when switching Android versions i had to upgrade baseband and/or kernrl files. Will i still need to do this? My current baseband version is 202c10_10.0.0_160304 and kernel version is ... A really long number but dated fri April 15th 2016. If so, where do I find these things?
I apologize for the newbie-ish questions. I'm looking to get back in the rom flashing game but i need refreshers and sons nudges in the right directions.
Any help at all would be appreciated. I know there's a lot of questions here.
Also, root would be fine but can i run lineage os without it? And are there any other stable roms for this model phone? Any lightweight roms?
Edit| forgot to add, I'm already rooted with twrp custom recovery installed and working
As your model number says, you need custom ROM's which are built for "Z00T".
