[Q] Toolkit V3.4.0 + PA 2.2 - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just got my Nexus7 yesterday and i have been reading alot about rooting, but there are still some questionmarks before jumping in.
I want to install Paranoid Android 2.2 and im confused:
1. Do i need to update to 4.1.2 before or just skip it alltogheter?
2. Should i wait for the Toolkit V3.4.0 or just use the V3.2.0?
3. Do i need to update the bootloader to the latest one, 3.41?

[Q] Custom rom questions

OK so I'm giving my Omnia 7 to a friend who needs a phone, but before I did I wanted to update to 7.8. Since that's unlikely to happen soon enough I'm looking to install a custom rom. Now it's been ages since I flashed my Omnia 7, and I've never installed a custom rom, so the questions I have are as follows:
1. I'm running the latest Omnia 7 updates, do I need to revert to an earlier rom?
2. Once I've reverted, do I have to install other things onto the phone before flashing the custom rom?
3. Is there like a single thread to follow these steps or do I have to piece together different posts to figure this out?
1. No, you don't need to install a previous ROM.
2. Yes,for install a custom rom your Omnia 7 must have MAGLDR (custom bootloader) thanks to DFT Team and Cotulla:

3. Here step by step flash guide (for install MAGLDR and any custom ROMs that you want) thanks to mirolg:

Here is the link to download CM10.2 (Android 4.3) for the Motorola Bravo:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779324
For instructions on how to install this ROM, please refer to my guide on how to flash CM11 to the Motorola Bravo, BUT STOP ONCE YOU GET TO STEP 5:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709602
My guide assumes you are starting out with stock Froyo 2.2 on the Bravo, that is already rooted and has a custom recovery on it. Remember, to end up with Android Jelly Bean, stop once you get to step 5 on my guide. If you continue you will end up with CM11 KitKat. Unless, of course, you want KitKat instead, in that case follow the guide I wrote all the way through. (I would recommend Jellybean and not KitKat, the CM11 KitKat ROM is not totally stable yet).

[Q] Question about CyanogenMod Installer And ROM Update?

Hi,
I've just install from the new installer CyanogenMod the ROM, after 2 automatique update, now it's tagged:
11.0-InstallerXNPQ32P
I think (from the note above the version) it's a M8.
What about the M9 and M10? It's comming in automatique Update (OTA) or I need to install it manualy?
Is the Installer version are something different as Mx?
ps: it's a very stable ROM (version), and I don't want change from a M9-10 right now, it's about know if updates are avaible from the Installer version and if a CyanogenMod 12 (Android L) comming, it's possible by Automatique Updater (OTA).
Hi, same question, please?
Me too ?
Personally, I would install TWRP, create a nandroid backup of your current ROM, manually flash an updated ROM and test the new ROM for a while. If the new ROM is unstable, restore your previous ROM from TWRP.
I think I have an even better question.
I hope this is a good question. I have loaded the CM installer version and to my delight I was back on 4.4.2 KK. I did not like the official 5.0.2 L update everything was slow and sluggish and I wanted to get back to root. Upon setting up my deb-razorg and after all apps were re-installed I had received a CM Installer update and I am now on 11.0-InstallerXNPQ32P aka 4.4.4. Click check for updates under system updates yields nothing it simply shows your system is up to date however during the process of updating google play services and I am sure frameworks somehow in my notification shade it shows System update available (Android 5.0.2 System update). I do not want to make this mistake again as this is what I saw using stock ROM right before going to Lollipop. The question is why would I get a separate OTA from Google why would I get an official OTA or AOSP update at the same time I had been getting back to back CM Installer updates? They appear to be two separate updates so not only do I not want to go back to Lollipop I am scared that would brick my tablet since I am on CM Installer. I cannot get rid of the official update from notification shade. Please help the question is not specific to the device I would just like to know why I am getting two different update prompts one official and one from CM installer?

[Q] Can I install Omni KK over the stock Rooted Lolipop Nexus 7 (2013) FLO

Hey guys I have not seen this in the Q&A section and I want to make sure I do it right.
I only recently rooted my Nexus 7, been running stock but decided I wanted to have Multi Windows like I have on my Note 4. I have not decided on a ROM as I was looking for the best one so I am still running Stock Rooted 5.0.2 I saw Omni ROM and I think that this would be the best ROM to attempt this as I tried the Xposed method and of course got the boot loop.
I see that currently on OmniROM.com that this device is still running on KK 4.4.4 according to the nightlies. I assume I would need to find a KK stock ROM and flash it on to my Nexus to downgrade back to KK in order to install this ROM, or will this install with TWRP even though I'm running Lollipop?
If so does someone have a quick link to the Stock KK files? I used Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit to root my device as I did not feel like going through the same hassel as when I rooted my Droid RAZR so I would just tell that to use those files instead.
I am always flashing ROMs on my Note 4 but I have never gone backwards and I think it was possible to install KK ROM once you upgrade to lolly but not use a lolly ROM if your still on KK.

I don't think anyone has done a compatibility check to see what happens if you run a 4.4 build on a device with 5.x bootloaders. It might work, it might do weird things (usually with sensors/wifi)
Multiwindow never got merged, if you want it you'll have to build for yourself and cherrypick it. There were some remaining issues with the patch we never had time to fix, we got too busy with other stuff, and xplodwild wants to rewrite the whole thing after finding a better way to implement it.

How to get back on N beta preview ?

When i first get my 6P this week, I took the OTA to test out the Android N Beta Preview 4, and really liked it, and then I unlocked the bootloader, and rooted and kept N on.
Well then I wanted to get back to MM so I could run a good ROM, I used Nexus Root Toolkit to do the work and get me back on Marshmallow and that worked perfectly and the ROM is great.
But now I want to go back to Android N beta 4, what steps do I need to do ? Can I just flash a Vendor Image in TWRP, and then the stock N ROM and reboot and be all good ?
