Hi,
First of all I would like to thank ro all of you who keep this great forum.
It has teached me a lot about android system.
I have an DEFY +/ android 4.3.1/ kernel 2.6.32.9 AeroKernel/ Cyanogem 10.2.2014523 nightly
I need to see the cell area info in my defy+.
I know my operator broadcasts it through cell broadcast channel 50.
In Settings - Wireless & Networks (more) menu I find cell broadcast settings.
I has an option for Brazil´s channel 50 but it does not work.
I installed an appk for it (Cell Area Broadcast Info) but it did not work either.
I also installed my chip in 2 other cell phones and cell area info was ok, so the problem is in my cell phone
Any help?
Maybe a baseband problem? Did you change it?

My operator works with 1800 and 2100
I can´t find that in band selector.

untill now I use my HD2 with Vodafone so no problem at all, but from today I start using my LEO with a WCDMA band on UMTS. Does anyone know if "My Location" service has any issue with this kind of band ? ....... because untill now I couldn't mannage to use "My Location" on WCDMA. thnx
P.S. If I add my town with a new location there is no problem, but I don't know how to put my town on the SENSE instead of my location

Hi,
I guess you use an RDS Digi Mobil card now.
I'm facing the same issue since I bought the phone in November. No permanent fix yet.
The bad news is that this won't be your only problem. Data connection has some lags and sometimes stops working, at least from my experience.
The good news is that you can try to flash a good custom ROM, which diminishes the issues to an acceptable level.
Hope this helps.
PS: This seems to confirm my suspicion that this issue is related to the lack of 2G functionality.
thnx for reply 27firesnake, so I guess it's all about the radio ? or just the RDS radio relay doesn't provide the information to the phone ?
By the way , I didn't experienced any lags in data conection untill now.

It appears that the first few days everything works fine, others have experienced the same. I read almost all the posts on this issue and replied on a few. If the problem starts for you too, you may read my posts in my profile under statistics.
Can you please share your network settings, I hope I didn't miss somethig all this time...
...I only noticed now that you have a custom ROM aboard .
I tried Dutty's HG v.05, multilang 1.5 and I run now the Artemis 2.9b.
Did you try these, how do you like the one you have?
so my network settings are : Ntwork Type - WCDMA , Band Frequency - UMTS (2100+900) , as I was instructed from RDS Constanta ( if you let network settings on "AUTO" it might apear some lags, they say ......).
I didn't try Dutty's and Artemis. Now I'm running Sone HD2 v1.33 (6.5.x) and untill now I used Topix 1.2 (6.5) - I'm fully satisfied from both. U should try

I did the same.
Plus, under My ISP > Cellular line (GPRS) > Name: RDS; APN: internet; everything else left blank
Also I set HSDPA only in Advanced Network settings, as HSUPA is not available in RDS (as far as I know)
I didn't know about HSUPA availability on RDS, but my ISP settings are the same, thnx.
So my question : is there any way to put on SENSE instead of "My Location" my town (Constanta)? ...... as if I add new location, is no problem at all to download wheater data .
Add city
Yes, click on the clock in Home screen, add Constanta manually and select.
I did the same and it works.
thnx , it's working.
Hi,
i am searching for a software to dial-up in 2G/3G/4G-networks with some monitoring functions who displays me:
- in witch sector/cell im logged in
- witch networks are available
- for 3G FDD-ranking/scramblings (like in the tool "fieldtest")
- for 4G the frequency (800/1800/2600 MHz in germany) if thats possible ??
i am using a Telekom Speedstick LTE (huawei E398) and the original software is not very fast and switching between networks mostly not work....
any ideas??
thanks!
Hello.
I have tested different roms, different Gen 2 versions (also gen1 and gen3 firmwares) and always I have the same problem: In the place where I live (Traslasierra, Córdoba, Argentina) I cannot connect to any mobile network operator except one: Movistar.
When I go to Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile Networks > Network Operators > Search Networks, only detects one of the 3 available in this area (Movistar, Claro and Personal). And precisely the one with the weakest signal. I have tested 3 different cels to detect networks and all of them show me the 3 avaliable operators, but I cannot get the same result with this ZTE Blade.
When I travel to the closer city, it detects all the operators without a problem with a very high radio signal and all of them work flawlessly in 2G/3G and also access data over mobile network. But when I return home, 15 km away from the city, I have strong signal of all the operators with other cells but the Blade only detects the weakest operator.
I think is not a problem with the reception of the signal because when I am in the city all it works perfect. Maybe is a problem of the Operator's antennas, that they don't transmit any header or data and then the Blade doesn't recognize them.
Of course, the mobile is unlocked (free) and I have tested CM 7 (different builds), Elite roms and ZTE 2.3.5 Stock without success: always the same behavior.
I wonder if could be an issue with the radio, but this is updated in the last firmware, doesn't it? Now I am using gen2 v10 custom. Should I try another version? And what about the Baseband? Is the baseband the identifier of the radio version actually using? In About phone says it is P729BB01 with the CM 7 11152011 NIGHTLY Blade, Build GWK74 and Kernel 2.6.35.7-perf+.
Anybody can help me or give me any idea?
Thank you very much
Anybody knows if the radio version changes with every firmware version and if the bugfixes are listed in any place?
Nobody had a similar issue?
Thanks
Anybody knows if there is any new radio update since TPT Gen2 v10 that is the one I am using now?
Motorola Defy+, 2.3.4, bought in UK, I use it in Moscow, (just in case – MTS).
Rom is stock 2.3.4, I haven’t run any updates, just rooted the phone.
The problem is that in a given location (when I drive to the office) the phone reboots at the same place (near the same building, etc). There are 2 such places on my way to the office (~20km)
In case I change network to 2g only – it works fine and there’s no reboot.
In case it is 3g or auto – reboot is back.
I tried changing apn type from “default” (sent by an operator) to “dun, supl, default” – it helped 50%, the phone now reboots only once during my way to the office.
I also tried defy baseband – set CentralEurope RT 2.34.0 and Europe RT 3.4.2-145 – phone still wins.
Is there any solution to that?
Thanks in advance.
Questions go in the Q&A section
This can happen when your phone doesn't support network frequencies, say WCDMA 850...
Check your carrier band frequencies and much to your phone, if possible. Refer to this.

Checked the link - it leads to Q&A forum (is it a correct link?)
Tried both 850 and 900.
850 - registers slowly (cannot find network), 900 works fine, but as mentioned - reboots at a given location.
It looks there is a flaw transferring between 2g-3g cells
Most likely you're one more victim of a known and crappy bug in Defy+ that Motorola doesn't acknowledge.

I tried lots of stuff on my father's phone, but only switching to Conservative governor made reboots disappear.
Hi, i always used to switch the network band to GSM/WCDMA. The switching was good upto 8 months. But Now it is not functioning well, after selecting GSM Only from WCDMA it's searching and going to Emergency calls ( But I'm receiving broadcast messages from other operators ) . Some times it works but some times its not. I tried with different mobile operators SIM but no change. Handover is also not functioning with GSM. In GSM band i went for manual search but it's showing only 2 or 3 operators but i found 8 operators in the same location with other cheap mobile which costs only Rs.800/-
There is no problem with WCDMA. So, please suggest me how to solve this problem ... I'm using this mobile since sep 2012. So no warranty.
