Hi, i have a HTC Desire HD imported From asia, its sim free, it works but doesnt get 3g or H internet speeds, just stuck on g, tried same sims on different phone and they work fine, also network Three says no service ?
I have tried getting latest rom from HTC official site but gave Model ID error, i updated it to latest 2.3.5 from using update via wifi , i also used RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_225512_signed and it flashed fine, but still stuck on g for speed, i also went into the hidden menu and changed settings to Euro , and also make sure its on GSM/WCDMA still same,
is this model just made for different market and doesnt support for use in UK ?
if anyone can help, i would be gratefull
Thank you
What network are you on? You'll need to check the frequencies that your network uses. If they don't match with the Asian frequencies, then it won't connect. I live in India and every operator here uses 2100 MHz for HSDPA networks. Tell me which operator you're with in the UK so we can check it's frequencies.

Hi, i have used vodafone, virgin, O2 , Orange , they all can recieve calls and make calls on phone, just the internet stays stuck on g speed, also the network three doesnt work , you think the phone cant use the 3g band from the uk networks as its imported ?
if i select WCDMA only it auto changes back to WCDMA preferred
in the hidden menu i can set GSM/UMTS Band to Automatic also changed it to Euro Band
Thanks
Well according to this Wikipedia page all network in UK use the 2100 MHz band for 3G. So it should work with no problem.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_UMTS_networks#section_4
When you change it to WCDMA only and it automatically changes to Auto mode, have you tried changing it again? This happens on my sister's Motorola Photon 4G, she has to select it twice to get it to change. For some reason your phone is sticking to the 2G network and that too GPRS not EDGE. UK uses the same frequencies as India so I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work, since it works just fine for me.

Hi, yes i have done that quite alot of times, also tried sims from different networks, keeps reverting back to auto, also in the hidden menu it reverts back to auto, this is fustrating, also i notice when i get the latest Rom from official HTC uk site , i get error, model ID error,
this is the one from official uk htc site, which gives model ID error when trying to flash it
RUU_Tube_HTC_Generic_1.11.0.0_Radio__release_203247_signed
i then found this
RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_225512_signed
that loaded in fine,
its very fustrating
this is what it says when trying to load rom update from official htc uk site
RUU_Tube_HTC_Generic_1.11.0.0_Radio__release_203247_signed
why is the version number lower ?
also could it be i need the UK radio loaded to work on 3g ?
That RUU is not for this phone. See the picture. That's why it's giving the model ID error. I just checked the HTC UK website and it says 'HTC Media Link ROM Update for HTC Desire HD (1.11.0.0)'. It's an upgrade utility for the HTC Media Link. That's an accessory that you can connect to your TV via HDMI and use to stream music and videos from your phone. It uses the DLNA feature of the stock HTC Sense ROM. The RUU you downloaded is firmware upgrade for that accessory. That grey rectangular box in the picture is HTC Media Link.

my mistake sorry, i did update to latest via the menu via wifi, went to 2.3.5, i dont understand it not getting 3g or H connection, also doesnt work on three uk network, but works on rest uk networks,
love to know whats causing this, using a phone just on g is impossibly slow
Hi, do you think it could be antenna faulty, as i left in three sim it didnt get no service but next day it recieved a text from three, im thinking maybe the antenna for 3g is faulty but ok to recieve normal reception
It's possible. Get it checked. I really don't know what's causing this since it's not as issue of frequencies not matching. If the bottom plastic cover of the DHD is damaged in any way or the contacts inside are screwed up, the antenna will act funny. It's inside the plastic cover.

the only reason i say that is, the three network in uk i dont get any signal says no service, but i left it on all night, and it recieved a text from three so thinking its struggling to get signal, the antenna on cover looks ok, the phone is brandnew, i have ordered another back antenna see if it does anything,
hello ive just received a S4 ATT version which was sim locked so i unlocked it from a shop now the problem is the phone is rooted and its not getting any updates in Pakistan its on Stock OS 4.2.2 any way to update it OTA ?
2: with my current carrier its not working fine i calls dropping low signals around -79 to -91 DBM normally but if i put another carrier sim in it its signal strength is ok and if i put my sim in another phone on same place its also working fine so any ideas what could be the problem
3: when we go to Settings > More Networks and manual setup i receive list of operators which are available in my country so any way to find what their signal strenth or DBM is i mean any app is available or any way .

Regarding unlocked and rooted. You should know when a phone is rooted you can't get any OTA updates. If you want to upgrade you will need to do it via Odin from PC. In the general section there are a couple of threads pinned that will help.

I've just bought a V20 and noticed that it's a Taiwanese model (model LG-H990DS, with TWN firmware). The first two issues that I've noticed are:
- it won't connect to 4G (I'm on Plusnet Mobile, which uses the EE network). It will only connect to 2G according to the notification bar
- it won't connect to either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz wifi networks on my Asus RT-AC68U router (although it will connect to a Belkin access point that I have elsewhere in the house).
Are the above caused by basic hardware incompatibilities, or can they be resolved by a firmware update?

Hi
The H990DS should have no problem connecting EE network as it is The Global version and supports LTE bands 3,7 and 20 which are used in UK and EE uses 3 and 7. I have a Verizon V20 which I use on Virgin and it has no problem connecting as Virgin piggyback on EE as well.
It may be your firmware needs updating.

My current firmware is V10i-TWN-XX. Should I be looking for a different version? If so, what's the recommended way of obtaining and flashing it?
That is the most current version of the firmware.
Theoretically Oreo will be released in August, barring further delays.
Silly thoughts:
Which SIM card slot is the SIM in? 1 or 2? It can make a difference when using two SIM's - only one will get 4G/LTE while the other gets 2G.
Is the phone new, never previously been used?
Finally see the attached screenshot of the network settings under: Networks/More/Mobile Networks/Network Mode. If for some reason it got set to 2G that could be the problem.
Note: I'm only using 3G network access so that's why in the screenshot it only shows 3G (Notification bar) even though it's set to auto LTE.
As for the WiFi issues, mine seems to be a bit quirky in not always connecting to some routers, 99% is no problem then you can run into one that for what ever reason it refuses to connect. At the radio station I work at (part time) my V20 simply refuses to connect even though I have the password. Works fine with my tablet & Motorola phone but no go on the V20. Go figure.
Best of luck figuring it out.

Thanks for that. I have my SIM in the SIM1 slot, and my Preferred Network Mode is GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto, which I guess is correct. The phone is second-hand (bought from Music Magpie).
I have now managed to get 3G (with "H" displayed - HSPA presumably), but I haven't been able to get 4G anywhere that I've travelled in London so far.
In the last day it has also finally recognised my Asus router, so that's a big step forward.
Hey i have an lg v20 h990n as far as can tell from reading specs its got the same frequencies and bands mine works totally fine with ee o2 and vodafone its suppose to work with three ... it also works with my tp link vr600v2 works fine with 5ghz and 2.4ghz also my sisters and partners carrier supplied routers i might suggest that you received a defective one id return it if you cant get it sorted music magpie charge loads too for this phone
hello,
recently my yota 2 phone stopped to show network signal at all. it is only showing weak signal at some times. i tried to change mobile carrier also but the issue remains.
1. going to settings >> mobile networks and selecting specific network to register is also not working, though in mobile networks list is showing. giving error "not able to register to this network....".
current android version is 4.4 . should the android version upgrade will solve the issue?
it looks like more of a hardware issue. do i need to change any hardware part ?
Thanks in advance.
Whenever I switch to 3G only, my SIM Card signals go down and when I search for network operators, none of the operators are found. I'm living in Pakistan and my area is 3G/4G granted and my SIM Card is also 3G/4G but whenever I keep it to Auto, my signals come back and my phone runs 2G or E instead of 3G. It used to run 3G before but when I installed the latest firmware on my device using Odin, it never switches or finds 3G operators or network. I didn't remember the version of the old firmware installed. Can anyone help me?
I have searched the whole internet but none of the fixes are working.

What firmware did you flash in Odin? Was it the latest firmware for the g550t2 and for your country?
