I just bought a USB charger 5V 1000mAH for my HTC touch PRO. When I use it on 2nd day, the charger exploded after plugged in to a powerbar for charging.
My phone and the powerbar are working fine at this moment, do I need to send my phone to HTC for health check as I'm afraid the battery has been damaged?
if something bad had happened to your phone, you probably would have noticed it by now. if its still working properly and nothing is malfunctioning, then no need to send it to htc.
but wait, exploded? like, physically went KABOOM?
can we see pics?

If a non HTC accessory damaged your phone, HTC won't cover the damage anyway...David.
Hello guys
My galaxy S4 is not charging :crying:, I checked the charger and it worked on another phone, So I think the wrong is in the phone.
Oh, and sometimes it charges but after 10 or 15 minutes charging it starts to connect and disconnect continuously from the charger.
What is the solution?
Edit: The wall charger.

Car charger or wall charger? I noticed my car charger does not plug into the phone as snug as the wall charger & have similar issues you described. However, wall charger works flawlessly.

Perhaps go to At&t store & see if you have the same problem with a charger there. If so, then it could be a hardware defect which I presume is covered by warranty.

Anything is possible but always start simple. Most likely it is the charger, start there. If you try different multiple chargers and get the same results, BINGO there's your problem. Warranty replace phone, (you're already at the At&t store) you're Golden.

Yes you may be connected, but perhaps the pins are damaged, missing, dirty or don't line up to the phone port properly to charge the phone. Start with the charger first. Save yourself a lot of time & guessing.
Any other help?
Mine did the same thing. So I went down and did the next thing and got the note 3 for the taxes and monthly payments. I also ordered the USB motherboard off eBay since I've takin one apart before. Going to replace that so it will be fixed and on eBay it goes. The phones in mint condition but have to charge and swap batteries. I couldn't handle it. Believe it or not, what started it was I had charger plugged into phone and unplugged charger from wall and took phone into another room and plugged into another plug without ever unplugging from phone. When I plugged it in wall it had a small little arc and that was the last time it charged.

There really is no other help. You gotta figure out if its your charge port or the charger.
If u can't replace with warranty there is 2 other options.
1. Buy the s4 wireless charge kit. Its like 80 bucks on eBay.
2. Get a universal battery charger and 2 spare batteries. And just swap batteries everyday.
3. Buy the charging port on Amazon or eBay and pay a electronic store to swap it out. Or do it yourself if u can handle it
Fixed mine today. Took maybe 15 min. And $7.00. To eBay it goes.
Simple as pie, just use ifixit to do it.

I am in the same situation and have just ordered the parts. I did a sample teardown and it appears to be pretty simple to do it. I'll report back in a few days, but my USB is for sure dead as it won't read either on a PC or Mac, or charge via a car, wall, or USB cable in a computer. I bought the Samsung S4 battery charger and kit, and the old battery works in there, so I know it's not the battery. However, the battery's "water damage" sensor is now pink, so I presume that the nasty humidity in North Texas this spring has killed the USB board. At any rate, hopefully, the fix is en route.

Well, the part and tools arrived and it was an easy replacement. The phone now charges like original. However, and this is a much larger issue, I cannot get and mobile data or any sort of non-wifi connectivity. I am thinking this board, which supposedly contains the antenna, is defective. It appears I can have EITHER network connectivity or sound, but not both. When I put the small plastic cover that also contains the speaker back on, it instantly kills my GSM connection to AT&T. With it off, I am getting a solid 4G LTE connection, and with it on, no signal at all other than wifi.
I've searched here and on the web, and the only thing I see so far is sending back the new USB board and hoping that the next one works in all areas.
Anyone have any ideas?

Double check the antenna cable connections at both ends. If you still have problems, try installing your old board back and see if data/wifi works. If it does, then the new board is probably defective.

The new board was defective, but they sent a replacement that worked better than the original. I also ended up finding out that the 1st replacement board had shorted the antenna cable, so I replaced that. My my son is now using the S4 with no problems. Long story short, he left his S3 on my car and it got destroyed, so I got an S5 and he got the S4...
All in all, to get back on track, this was an easy repair for anyone. I was surprised at how easy replacing just about anything other than the screen itself would be.
hi guys,
i apologise if i am breaking any rules but i havent been able to find any solutions to this new problem that i have right now
i always plug my note 3 into the wall charger every night when i sleep, last night it just didnt charge and i woke up to 5 percent charge, i plugged the phone into my car charger and the phone just died, and then didnt charge on the car charger, i plugged it into the computer at my work it charged very very slowly, only about 17 percent i brought it back home and plugged it back into the official samsung charger and it just wouldnt charge the charge percentage would stay the same. i have it hooked upto my laptops usb 3.0 charger and it is slowly charging and i have turned it off
i dont understand how this could have happened, i didnt do anything to it didnt install any new software, didnt drop the phone or the wall charger
i got this phone hardly two months ago, the wire seems alright and the wall plug also looks fine dont know whats going on, help!
I have updated to kitkat and the phone seems to be charging but not charging invert the laptop could it be the official wire is faulty?

Try using a USB 2.0 cable from another charger on the official charger and charge another phone. This is to check whether your charger has issues.
It's quite hard to test if the USB 3.0 cable works or not as you may or may not have another device with USB 3.0. But if you do, try it.
If these problems still persist, you should go to Samsung warranty and claim it. This shouldn't happen, and you wouldn't want to risk having it blow up in your face during your slumber. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...ing-angry-customer-uploads-Youtube-video.html

LOL they wouldn't need to check the phone to see if the charger/cable is defective sir.
The only thing they would need to check is if your phone is defective, then they will need to see that 0x1 flag you tripped, and then would ask you to go elsewhere.
Same thing has been happening to me after updating to kitkat (BTU) stock unrooted: Sometimes it won't charge until I reboot, then charges normally. I highly doubt this is a cable issue as it is a near new device..

Okay I have some funny information. I have the official Samsung cable and wall charger and my wife's iPhone wall charger. I turned the phone off and tried charging through the wall outlet. It failed. It would give a short vibration at regular intervals as if it's trying to initialise charging but failing. The screen would also try to turn on but wouldn't. This was happening with both wall chargers. I then connected this off phone with my laptop using the same cable and it started charging. Albeit extremely slowly

Screams defective unit to me..
Laptop USB's charge devices slowly no matter what, as the power output is much less than the wall charger.
If you can grab an extra battery and try with that, it would be your final hope.
Seems like a battery issue.
Try another one.
Hopefully that will fix it. If it doesnt, then the problem would be the motherboard and that would put you in deep water.

I had the same with mine. My phone charged unregulary, mostly only up to 70%, then stopped charging. When plugged in to my iBolt xprodock it charged sometimes, but never triggered the car-dock-mode as usual, no audio output through USB as designed., All other functions of the Phone operated fine
So I went to Samsung service center, they checked the charger and cable, all fine. Then they checked the phone and came back with "a flash module is broken", charging electronic, motherboard defect.
By the way, my phone was on stock 4.4.2 German rom, rooted, custom recovery and Knox triggered. No problem for the service center! But now they send it to Samsung, because they are not allowed to change the mainboard.
I am really curious whether Samsung repairs or will refuse warranty. I am from Germany and the phone should be covered by the warranty by law, I am optimistic, because searching the web did not show a single case of rejecting warranty here in Germany due to triggered Knox. Lets see, I keep you updated. :good:

have you tried rebooting the phone first?

You should definitely go and ask. Worst case, they will refuse warranty. But at least they will confirm what the problem is.
Hi all.
This morning I woke up as usual and tried to unplug my phone from the charger with one hand. It didn't un plug.
I had to force unplug because charger plug melted inside the phone usb port.
A black smoke came out from the charger plug
The result is an unusable nine months old phone, a burned out night stand, and its original cable (with original charger) completely melted inside the phone.
It's a luck it happened in the morning.
I see someone else did already have the same issue.
LG shoud think about it. Maybe there is a defective stock of cables that should be checked and replaced.
Cheers,
David.

I just bought mine last November 2016 and I'm aware of this issue before i got my phone. Since i got mine, i didn't attempt to charge it overnight because of this issue. I just charge my phone while i'm preparing to get to work and by the time i'm ready to go out (which takes me 30 mins to prepare) as nexus 5x has quick charge capability which is really fast, from 15% to 85% in just 35-40 mins.
Although phones should be really handle the charging limit once the battery hits 100%, but i think the charger (which has a 3.0A) can't do this. Do you still have your warranty up? its better to send your phone to LG with the charger and they might issue you a new phone.

Actually, you shouldn't care about time charging. When phone is fully charged, the charger should turn off or not charge the phone.
It's more than ten years I charge devices in the night. Never ever happened a thing like this.
I'm curious what LG will answer to me......
I also charge my previous phone (Sony Xperia Z3 Compact) every night and plugged it out in the morning. But When i heard that Nexus 5x has this issue, i just charge my phone before i go in the office, since i'm fully utillizing its fast charging feature.
I already read some thread here and there are some particular model of chargers that doesn't pass some test.
My charger model is: DONGDO (MCS-N04ED)
My Phone Unit: LG-H791
It happened to my phone before, with the usb a to c cable from Google, I charged it from a notebook usb port, and soon after, I smelled some plastic burning. The device was unplugged, and the phone charge normally with another cable over usb or with a wall socket. I called Google and they are willing to exchange for a new cable
I charge mine every night for a year with stock charger and never had problems

Iam from Karnataka, Mangaluru.
As my phone is in the warranty period and also the problem is not caused by water damage they replaced it for free
I contacted Gearbest, and all they could do was give me a small refund. As there are no Nokia service centres in Europe. And my phone is a Chinese version, with the international ROM, not the actual international version. Bloody brilliant. ?
yes the size of cable or the tip is not the exact size of the port thats why its loose
mine also is loose but charging is not disrupted
Planning to get this phone, but wondering if we can check whether the phone will have lose charging port or not. Is it Nokia's design flaw?

My Nokia 6.1 had the same issue with it being only 4 months old. I Purchased it at GearBest.com as well. Chatted with them. Sending it back and possibly receiving a refurbished one back left a sour taste in my mouth. They refunded me a small amount. I checked with Nokia to see if they had a repair depot in the Vancouver, Canada area. There wasn't. I ended up breaking down and getting it repaired close to my home. $180 Cdn later it was fixed. The charging port was poorly soldered at the factory. A good resoldering fixed it. What a burn for repairs. I'm not impressed with Nokia's so-called warranty.
3 weeks have past since the repair, the problem is back. I brought it back to the techs that originally did the repair. They did more diagnostic on it and found it could be either a faulty charge port or some issue with the motherboard. I'm hoping it's the charging port.
this is very serious problem with nokia 6.1 plus, Cable comes with box is loose but its charging phone very well if we don't disturb it while charging. I guess its more with cable, as i tried oneplus 6 phone original box charging cable & its very tight, we can use phone while charging. Then also tried my old google pixel original box charging cable, & its too loose, sometimes it comes out automatically.
we need to try with different charging cables trial & identify which one is best suited. Its trial & hit method.
but I'm worried as over the period of time, phone charging port should not be deteriorated...
Mine has become a bit loose and I faced the problem of charging disconnected a couple of times. But afterwards it went back to normal. What's the time required to replace the charging part ?

I was thinking of getting it fixed. Gearbest only refunded me €30, cheap bastards. They also offered a refurbished replacement - if I sent the faulty one back at MY expense. Which, from Malta to China, was prohibitively expensive. Screw manufacturer's warranty, eh?
