[Q] Searching for a 3G Mod - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi,
I had jellyblast ROM and 3G was working, i saw "3G Mod" so i immediatly installed it,
after it got banned from XDA i switched to Hyperion ROM (9 rev3), and 3G is not working,
Do anyone know where is located the 3G mod of galaxy Y jellyblast rom? :highfive:
I searched a lot and only found questions about, not answers
Thanks in advance! :victory:

no part of any banned rom can be talked about
for your 3g problem check
1 - you have imei (dial *#06# and see if it displays your imei - if it is blank you need to change kernel or change your ril lib file)
2 - check your apn (make sure you apn is displayed in mobile network settings - reset apn or enter it manually)
you can also just change kernels change ril lib or change basebands to find a solution

Hi,
thanks for the reply,
but i don't know how to change baseband,
i have Hyperion 9 with Merruk kernel, using hyperion 8 ril fix,
to make Merruk kernel work with,
when i do *#06# it shows me my IMEI
i can pass calls, sms, when i was on jellyblast i also had merruk kernel, same version
Is the problem from Hyperion ROM?

you can change basebands by flashing a different stock rom firmware to the one you are on via odin
if you are on merruk kernel you will probably be on an ext system partition
I would change kernels to hells fusion #50
you may also want to flash stock rom via odin to change your system from ext back to rfs although hells fusion #50 kernel does support ext
make sure your apn settings are correct in mobile settings and that you have an apn there

I have reset my APN settings, but the Bouygues APN stays on the list,
also, does hells fusion kernel haves its permanent cwm?
I heard overclocking is not true so i may have to switch

yes it has permanent cwm
I would flash stock rom via odin first in order to avoid any other problems
you will also have to flash whites wifi driver if using hells fusion kernel

if you change to any other stock based kernel after flashing whites wifi driver you can flash the orig stock wifi driver back

yes you can as it hells fusion #50 supports ext system partitions
if you experience any problems best thing is to start again by flashing stock rom via odin though
you can backup apps with titanuim backup and contacts/sms with super backup (both available from playstore)

I flashed to stock then to hyperion :good:
after lot of mind search i found 3g was working, it was because i made backup with merruk kernel,
Did same (hells fusion flash + hyperion rom + ril fix) *without* any attempt to restore a backup, nor my data neither apps.
WORKED!!! If i could i would click thanks 1000 times :victory:

Want to return to STOCK from CM7.2

Hi, am using now CM7.2 ROM
i want to back to my custom stock based rom ( i have nandroid backup of custom stock rom )
how can i get back using CWM???
use odin first before you restore your backup or use ext4converter of rio.. but i recommend odin for you.
Sent from my GT-S5360 using xda premium
No need to use odin
flash hells fusion #50 kernel (it supports ext4)
restart to recovery
restore your nandriod backup
if you get boot error when restore nandriod as you used a different kernel just advanced restore and restore system and data only
If direct restore the backup, then what happen..

Will probably restore but won't boot on percy cm7 kernel
that's why I said flash hells fusion #50 kernel as it supports ext4 system partitions & stock based roms so you can easily switch between hells fusion #50 kernel & stock based roms & percys kernel & cm7 based roms
Need odin download link for ubuntu

Not true - when you first flash percy's kernel you get mount errors
you just format system data cache then you can mount them

There's only two ways I can think of using odin/flash rom on Ubuntu
1- use virtual box and run Windows inside it
2- use Linux commands in terminal (you will have to Google if it's possible)
there is wine but unless there are drivers for ubuntu your phone won't be detected
try reading this as alternative although no guarantees it will work with galaxy y

Wifi problem on stock de odexed

Hey guys need a help
Just don't slap me with - noob search this that blah blah (i know I'm one still read patiently)
Well i flashed a stock de odexed rom today via (hells kernel) cwm
When wifi was toggled it scanned for a while and then rebooted...
I flashed wifi drivers, re flashed kernel etc. Yet rom rebooted. Back to Evo X and wifi is fine (so i assumed it's a problem in software not my mobile)
I actually tried flashing drivers, setting permissions and re flashed kernel..
I searched on XDA and majority of posts were ICS and JB roms.. Hence I posted this. Thanks in advance
If you're using hells fusion #50 kernel Flash dhd1.1 in cwm with system mounted
if you are using most other stock based kernels flash dhd-stock in cwm with system mounted

Sir it didn't work... After i flashed drivers(with system mounted) and toggled wifi, it detected network but then rebooted (actually it was more like hot boot)... Just as it was before. I guess i didn't download a proper de odexed rom.

if you have rom problems
download any stock based custom rom from dev section and put on root of sd card
go into recovery
flash temp cwm zip if using a kernel that doesn't already have cwm
goto mounts and storage
format system data and cache
mount system data and cache
flash rom zip
restart
at the moment you cannot download stock roms to flash via odin as hotfile has been closed down although I have uploaded a stock rom firmware to dev host which you can find on or near the last page of dokys firmware thread on dev section - it will boot your phone but its European firmware so may not work on your network but at least it will boot your phone if flashing a custom rom with the method above doesn't work

No worries sir, i have Evolution X rom and 2 other in my sd card. Also i have 2 backups.. I just wanted to experiment and probably try to solve the issue on stock. I'm in evo x and everything is working fine.
Thanks a lot for assisting me immediately (pressed the button too )
The thing is i don't have a comp. So i was trying out different stock (cwm flashable) . I will just download one from doky's thread after the website issue has been sorted out

flashing a stock cwm zip doesnt actually give you stock rom as such - think of it more like a custom rom with no changes made to any files
To make it work properly you really in the case of flashing a deodex stock rom via cwm you need to be on the same baseband as the stock rom
To actually flash stock rom and to change basebands you needs to flash the stock rom firmware via odin

[Q] Custom Rom question

suppose i flashed a new rom to my device.. just the custom rom without a custom kernel.. but i want to go back to my stock rom and i have a nandroid backup of it.. is it safe or advisable to restore it via cwm? or do i need odin to get back to stock rom again?
you can just restore your nandroid backup if the custom rom is stock based without flashing stock rom via odin first
if it is cm/aosp based I would flash stock rom via odin first if you used percys kernel or kernel that converts system to ext then you can restore your nandroid backup
if the backup being restored is using the kernel used at time of backup you will get no errors
if the backup being restored is not using the kernel used at time of backup goto advanced restore and restore system and data only or flash the kernel that you were using when the backup was made first

rom yes kernel no - nandroid backup does not backup/restore your kernel
like I said - if the nandroid backup was made say on stock kernel then restore it on stock kernel or if using different kernel to which the backup was made on goto advance restore and restore only system and data

[Q] CWM Boot Loop

Hi,
I installed CWM v6.0.5.3 from the CM11 thread here onto my rooted stock rom so that I could do a nandroid backup.
It installed OK and I did the backup but now it always boots into CWM!
When I select "reboot system now" it also complains that "root access it missing". Selecting yes to root device doesn't get rid of this message on subsequent boots.
I can still get into download mode and I can use Odin to re--flash stock rom which enables me to boot correctly, but then I've lost all my data. Ironically I only installed CWM to do a backup and I don't have any other backup!
I can see other threads with similar problems but they're on other devices and the fix.zip's don't work on the Y.
I'd appreciate any help.
Regards,
Paul.
Some more info...
Even after flashing the stock ROM and re-installing CWM 6.0.5.3 I get the same issue.
I've tried using a temporary CWM v5 but this is unable to restore the backup.
Thanks...
Just thinking out loud now...
Is there a way to manually restore data.yaffs2.img from the backup without installing CWM 6.0.5.3?
It's not a problem. On flashing CWM 6.0.5.3 it converts the system to MTD from RFS which prevents it from booting due to lack of compatible ROM. CWM 6.0.5.3 can't be used with any GB or ICS ROM. It needs KK and for that you have to flash CM 11. Hope this helps.

You didn't install cwm6 - you flashed a kernel only meant for cm11 that has cwm6 built in - this kernel will not work on stock roms
Simply mount system then flash a stock based kernel like hells fusion #50
In future use cwm5 to make backups of stock roms - hells fusion kernel has it built in
Ah, and I thought I was being clever by going for the latest version!
I'll try flashing that kernel and let you know...
Hi,
From CWM 6.0.5.3 I mounted /system and installed hells fusion #50, but the phone still boots into CWM 6.0.5.3.
I tried also installing the stock kernel from the aroma installer, but still ended up in CWM 6.0.5.3.

Maybe its a build.prop issue with the zip and not flashing it
Try flashing a stock kernel via odin like the following (place in pda)
http://d-h.st/18f
If not you will have to flash an entire stock rom firmware via odin
I tried flashing that kernel with Odin, but when I boot I just get stuck on the Samsung logo.
Thanks for your help and time, but it looks like the backup I took with v6 isn't of any use, and I'll have to start again from fresh.
But I might run with Hell's Fusion as that looks good!
The reason I started all this was because the phone keeps messing up whilst in a call e.g. putting the call on hold, or speaker. I've tested the proximity sensor and thats OK, so I was going to try a custom ROM to see if that cured the problem.

[Q] Galaxy Y custom kernel problem

So yeah, hey XDA, first post here
I have got a problem with my SGY, whenever i flash a custom kernel via CWM, I get stuck at splash screen. And when i flash stock kernel via Odin, phone boots normally.
Do you guys know what is the problem?
Kernels I have tried:
1.Kuro - loop at splash
2.Hells-fusion - loop at splash
3.Savie - stuck at splash
Any help would be really appreciated.

Most likely you failed to mount system before flashing the zip or your baseband needs updating
Make sure you goto mounts & storage in cwm and mount system before flashing any zip (will display "unmount system" if it is mounted)
To update baseband flash one of the latest stock roms via odin - see my firmware thread - link it signature

Yeah I did mount everything in CWM, it's probably the baseband thing. I have the latest firmware file for my region (Baltic States). Will it work?
Here is the version of it:
PDA:XXMI1
MODEM:XXMG1
CSC:SEBLL1
KERNEL:XXMI1
Anyways, gonna make a nandroid backup and try to flash the whole stock firmware.
EDIT:Flashed stock with wipe, rooted, flashed savie - no luck.

Yes that's the latest firmware
The only other thing I can think of is that you are using the wrong cwm
Here is my one - Flash it in stock recovery then mount system & flash zip
http://d-h.st/u2m
Also there are different versions of savie - make sure you are using the stock one if on stock rom and not the cm one
I would use hells fusion #50 myself for testing
